  3. this spring in the north east has been crazy with the weather, super warm and then super cold. last tuesday it was 46 here in MA. average temps in june are in the low 70s. this weekend and next week will be 80s and 90s. how does this weather affect the fish? they were just starting to spawn then the super cold comes in then its hot again, its crazy! im hearing reports of bass still spawning and some post spawn. yesterday i saw sunnies on beds but caught a male largemouth who released sperm on me, same small pond.
  4. wompatauck looks killer, havent fished it much, havent done good there. i gota give it another shot went out 5pm to 11pm found access to new spots. few hits, went back to an old favorite for a night bite. lost 2 large fish, i was fishing a molix beetle. its a frog style lure with a jitter bug style action, slow twitched along a weed edge. caught one 2.10 on a swimbait after dark, few more hits. im headed out tonight for a night bite, i plan on staying till 2 am tonight! problem is WHERE TO GO!!! !!

  11. Saturday, went out saltwater fishing down south on my buddies boat. alarm didnt go off at 330 am like it was supposed to got up at 6 instead, down there at 730. we went out in search of stripers. my buddy caught 2 schoolies, with a few hits. we marked alot fish, i had a few hits as well, could see them come up to the boat chasing my jig. next we set off in search of tog, our first spot we found them. got a ton of hits, all short tog. we also caught some scup and sea bass, we tried a different rock pile but water temps dropped by 4 degrees. no fish so we moved back. caught more sea bass scup and a keeper fluke but it was out of season. also caught a skate. wind started cracking out of the N NE, waves were 2 feet. so decided to try in the river for some schoolies but got nothing so we called it a day sunday had a derby for my uncles mens club. billington sea and little pond. i would of picked billington sea over littles pond for bass, but they decided to fish littles instead. we saw a few decent fish. i had zilch on lures. handfull of dinks on shiners. biggest was a 5 out of littles, my biggest was 1.8. my uncle caught a 1.7 rainbow and a 1.5 brown, biggest trout was a 3lbser. some guys had a stringer full of nice trout but they lost em all. budlights were only a 1.75 at the cook out after and the 100 proof cinnamon whiskey shots were only 3 bucks! so it was a good cookout
  12. i usually fish jigs and swimbaits mostly looking for a big bite. but im going to fish mostly plastics and just regular bass gear.
  13. solid advice, im overthinking this.
  14. got my first tournie on sunday. its a small tournie i dont think guys are hardcore bass fishermen like i am. its through my uncles elks club, he said last year the biggest fish weighed in was a 3lbs pickerel. he also said there hasnt been a bass over 3lbs. so im confident in my skills but since this is my first id like some useful tips. the lake is big and shallow. deepest is 10 or so feet. water is clear. also has a good run of herring. this place gets alot of pressure. the water temps are around 60, either early spawn or late pre spawn. weather has been cold recently but this week its been hot.
  15. ive been to aaron a handfull of times, mostly shore fishing tho. handfull of small bass, it looks killer tho.l heard some good things from there! i neeed to give it another shot
  16. i mix it up a bit, mostly slow crank but ive had some great luck slow twitch near cover. the 9s are better for waking but 7s are better for cranking. big different in sizes between the 2. the 7 looks like a regular crank bait next to a 9. they do have cranking 9s as well. biggest one i got is a 10 inch slammer, but the eel is long due to the tail
  17. i tried a spot ive been dying to fish! water felt super warm, pads are coming up. it was super windy. i missed a good fish on a weedless 6inch swimbait. pickerel were active had a few hit my swimbaits. caught one small bass on a 7 inch slammer. tried for some night bass with big baits but forgot my headlamp. so i fished a pond in a condo complex. had a good hit on a 9 inch slammer eel
  18. jig head and plastics! we caught a few yesterday too. a friend caught a 27.5incher in a different area. my biggest so far is a 15incher
  19. wow new brunswick thats really awesome! great to hear. im in MA and the fishing has been getting worse over the years. i always thought they moved out deep into federal waters, 3miles off shore. its illegal to fish here for them in federal waters.
  20. got out saturday! tough bite, spent more time trying to decided where to go then actually fishing. caught a 3.6lbser and another chunky 2 missed a few other fish. fished 2 ponds and a small culvert ive been gettin some good action. went to see if the stripers were around, lost count on how many i caught, all micro schoolies but super fun on freshwater tackle!
  21. tomorrow should be good! warm day with some storms rolling through early. cold front sunday!! bite should be really good tomorrow
  22. bites been super tough for me ever since the cold front saturday. this weekend looks promising tho. that cold front shut them down.
