  1. broke my PB yesterday! 7.8lbs caught it on a 9inch deep crank x2 blue gill ms slammer. cranked the bait down along a drop off near some shoreline pads
  2. i got a new PB yesterday 7.8 on a swimbait. but reason why im saying this! where i caught it was a deep drop off! the pond i was fishing at is small but deep. 30 feet. really steep drops! water is stained tho? does water clarity play a big role? i plan on going back today with big worms deep. i caught a dink on a big power bait worm the worm was bigger then the bass!
  3. im in Massachusetts! caught my new PB. 7.8 caught it on a 9inch deep crank x2 blue gill ms slammer. cranked down along a drop off near some lily pads.
  4. so my usual assortment of comfort baits. like jigs drop shot and t-rigs ! one thing i will use is the C rig! tried it but havent put much time in using it! i also need to start using cranks and spinners
  5. oh yea no doubt! wish i had more toothy critters in my area
  6. Mr. Aquarium posted a topic in Introductions
i never made an introduction when i joined a few weeks ago. im mike! im from MA. Im 26 i love anything to do with water and nature! ive been fishing for 23years! my PBs are 7plus larry! i dont know the actual weight but it took measurements and it came out to be 7-8lbs. my PB smallie is 6.9 i caught a few weeks ago. i love fishing! im full blown addicted to it! i love freshwater but do enjoy going saltwater fishing. fly fishing, ice fishing spear fishin. ill catch any thing from sunnies to sharks!
  7. i got a ton of black, and color combos with black!
  8. i need to try my jigs at night! chatter bait have been getting bit good for me latly
  9. savage is coming out with a duck to! lets see how it works
  10. i got some lakes that receive alot less pressure then those spots i plan on using these at! i never fished those places! to big for a cartopper
  11. yea it was for the lack of better terms. i meant finesse as in anything from wacky rig and drop shot to flipin and pitchin yea i gotcha! i meant finesse as in slow fishing. and power like fishing fast baits! 530 am dropshotting? C'Mon thats topwater time! ive been stepping up my topwater game! like spooks and whopper ploppers! i love watching smallies destroy a topwater. i havent fished the super light finesse stuff this year! been using A TON of texas rig tubes and topwaters. also swimbaits
  12. wow i didnt know that? ive been going to NH my entire life and i always thought those remote ponds were trout! but the area i go to is the white mnts. so im sure there are better bass lakes down in southern NH. theres a lake very close to the MA and NH boarder that had a 9.5 weighed in. caught a few months ago
  13. the problem with NH is that all the bass ponds get pounded! with MA theres so many limited access and private ponds that barely get fished. but the remote ponds in NH are trout havens instead of bass! but i do think theres a shot of a 10 in one of the big deep lakes like winni! if someone were to toss a swimbait i think thats the best shot at getting a truly once in a life time giant! as far as MA goes! theres a lot more 10s in MA then we think! ive personaly have hooked, seen fish swimming and had some follow and hit my baits that i was shocked at how big the were! ive got a good numbers of 6s and 2 over 7 in my life and these fish were so much bigger then these fish! the growing season up there is quite short! ice out doesnt happen till april! while down here some years we dont even have ice! i fished on my kayak all winter long. also the amount of food places a big roll as well! thers so many factors that play in growning a giant in the northern states
  14. i dont have shad in my lakes! i have perch and shiners in most of them! some lakes have herring but not all year
  15. massachusetts
  16. i used to fish cranks and spinners back in the day! i need to fish them more in my deeper lakes. but tubes and soft plastics work so well for me haha!
  17. the problem is i have a TON of pickerel in my ponds and im usually fishing very weedy, shallow ponds, but i have started fishing ponds clear and deep where weeds and pickerel arent a problem
  18. im going to start fishing big worms and other baits for offshore bass. any tips and advice on big worms?
  19. im a finesse guy! i love fishing slow moving bait , big or small. i love dissecting cover structure or an area. do you guys think im missin fish cuz im not fishing fast baits like cranks and spinners?
  20. so i went back to the pond ive been doing well at but this time i decided to take the yak out instead of shore fishin. fished 6p-6a. i pounded the back and the western shore the bite sucked. i got 3 dinks in the 8 hours i fished that shoreline! i even targeted some offshore humps i knew of. fished a lot of topwater chatterbaits and spinerbaits. texas rigged creature baits craws and 10 inch worms. so at 3 am i was back to the spot ive been smoking bass at. i get out of the yak and shore fished here till 6. first cast i catch a little 2lbs smallie. switch up to a texas rig. i missed a good fish. next cast catch a 4.9 largemouth. then a 4.1 smallie and a 3lbs even largemouth. oh and a cool thing happened to me! as i was fishing i could see flashes of light and i didnt know what the hell they were. i got scared a storm was rolling through but the skies were partly cloudy so i checked the radar map on my phone closest storm was south of marthas vineyard and nantucket. so as i got out towards the middle of the pond i could see the storm rolling through! i thought it was pretty cool that i could see a storm so far south! i fished I disagree off! bite sucked until i got to my good spot!
  21. yea thats the only snake i can think of that gets that big so i went back to the pond ive been doing well at but this time i decided to take the yak out instead of shore fishin. fished 6p-6a. i pounded the back and the western shore the bite sucked. i got 3 dinks in the 8 hours i fished that shoreline! i even targeted some offshore humps i knew of. fished a lot of topwater chatterbaits and spinerbaits. texas rigged creature baits craws and 10 inch worms. so at 3 am i was back to the spot ive been smoking bass at. i get out of the yak and shore fished here till 6. first cast i catch a little 2lbs smallie. switch up to a texas rig. i missed a good fish. next cast catch a 4.9 largemouth. then a 4.1 smallie and a 3lbs even largemouth. oh and a cool thing happened to me! as i was fishing i could see flashes of light and i didnt know what the hell they were. i got scared a storm was rolling through but the skies were partly cloudy so i checked the radar map on my phone closest storm was south of marthas vineyard and nantucket. so as i got out towards the middle of the pond i could see the storm rolling through! i thought it was pretty cool that i could see a storm so far south!

  23. right! fish the places you know have giants and youll have a better chance at catching one at night! ive only fished from shore at night! i cant wait to get in a boat and fish the place ive been doing well at! big pond with big bass both smallies and largies! if im getting good numbers from shore at the only shore fishing spot i can only imagine how good it will be when in a boat
