New PB!!!
Went out to a pond on campus, fishing with a buddy of mine. After walking around pretty much the whole pond with not much action, I spotted a huge bass. Threw my tube in there and let it sit when I went to move it and my line took off. FISH ON!! After an intense battle I landed my new personal best. I didn't have a scale with me but I know its definitely bigger then my previous personal best. What do yall think she weighed?

BAITCASTERS!!!
Abu Garcia Revo S is 100 bucks and a great reel.

Good yet cheap rod/reel combo...
I actually learned on the 3rd combo Muddy posted and for the money its not bad.

Baitcaster for a beginer!
I know this combo is a little over the price, but the extra money on the reel will help with the learning process. Reel- Abu Garcia Revo S- $100 Rod- Bass Pro Shops Graphite Series- $20 Like G3Fan mentioned I would reccommend a 6'6" Medium rod. I know the rod isn't as expensive as some people will reccommend, but I use this exact combo almost on a daily basis and I love it.

Birthday baits
Yea, that propbait you made not too long ago was something else. You do amazing work, sale any of your baits?

Pair these rods w/appropriate baits
1. T-rigs 2. Heavier Spinnerbaits 3. Lighter Spinnerbaits 4. All Around Rod 5. Jigs/C-rigs 6. Crankbaits 7. Jerkbaits 8. Topwater baits Thats what I would have on them.

Top Water: Mono or Fluorocarbon?
I would use mono. It has some stretch that you want and it floats.

Birthday baits
Those are awesome, I especially love the topwater lures you make.

My girlfriends dad has been wanting to get into flyfishing for a while, and even though I have done a little (very little) I figured I still have a lot to learn, so we decided to go to the free fly casting class they offer at Bass Pro Shops. Since he didn't have a rod they let him use a house rod, which I got to use while we learned and fell in love with. So when we got done with the class he bought the combo and I returned mine and bought the same combo. When we left I asked my girlfriend if she wanted to go out to a pond on campus for a bit so I could practice what I learned. About the time I got ready to leave I was retrieving my fly and felt like I got hung up and then my line moved. FISH ON!! This was my first bass on a fly rod and man it was a blast. Sorry for the goofy smile, I was pretty stoked.

Moving to NC
Welcome to NC, I like you'll like it here. On top of the lakes already mentioned, if you don't mind driving a little there are quite a few nice lakes around the Charlotte area.

Family Fishing
My sister had her bridal shower this past Saturday and being that there is a pond near by where it was held I figured I would go and do some fishing. I also thought I would ask my niece and nephew to fish with me since they loved it the last time we went and they got a Zebco 33 and a small tackle box for Christmas. We had a lot of fun and caught quite a few fish, nothing big but they loved it and I loved seeing them get to excited and thats what it was all about. Here are some phots.

Jighead location
Bass Pro Shops has some house brand ones that have a fish head on them, they look pretty nice. I would post a link but the website has been acting funky.

popper bait
For the money the Berkley Frenzy Popper is nice. It has a good bloop to it and for 2 bucks it can't be beat. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_58596_100005003_100000000_100005000_100-5-3

YUM Buzzfrogs Sink?
Not hijacking a thread or anything, but I found some of those Riverside plastics at wal-mart that looks just like the Yum Buzzfrog. Which I think they are the same thing, because on the package it says infused with YUM attractant. 5 of them for 97 cents, can't beat that. Have yet to try them yet though.
