  1. Welcome Aboard. If you don't mind shopping online BPS has a Shimano Stradic/BPS Extreme for $140. That reel will suit all your needs and being that it is a Shimano it will last a long time. For the 20 dollars you would be paying for the rod its a great value, I have 2 myself and love them. Depending on what you fish most often a M or MH would be best. As far as line I use Silver Thread AN40 on my spinning reels.
  2. I just use a pair of needle nose pliers and pinch the very end of the wire in them then rotate the pliers until you get a complete loop.
  3. I have the Revo S on a BPS 6'6" Extreme and I love it. The reel is awesome for the price, very smooth, nice drag. Money well spent.
  4. Munkin, what is the actual weight of the hidden heads?
  5. They all look incredibly nice.
  6. On top of the Tourney Special, they have Bionic Blades for 49 and the Extremes for 59. I really like the Extremes, good value for the money. As far as rod power, I use a 6 and a half foot M rod for crankbaits and topwater. So it can be done on the same rod. For line I use 12 lb on that combo, I feel its a happy medium for strength and low diameter.
  7. Man those are some nice fish. Way to go!!!
  8. Love the reel. For the price its awesome, already thinking of getting another one.

After my bait monkey attack I was itching to try out my new gear, so I went to a pond close to my house. First got there I was throwing one of the new spinnerbaits, picked up 2 fish on that. When the spinnerbait bite died off I decided to throw a Norman Fat Boy that I picked up at Wal-Mart for a buck. Well that was the ticket for the day, in about an hour I picked up 8 fish. All the fish of the day were around a pound with a couple going a little more. Pictures of the 2 spinnerbait fish and 2 off the Fat Boy.
  15. The rod.
  16. Went to the first night of the Spring Classic in Charlotte and the monkey was screaming as soon as I walked in the door. So after waiting for the reel turn in to start, I left with 3 X-raps, 3 Booyah spinnerbaits, a World Wide Sportsmen shirt, some Big Game line, a lure retriever, some jighead powder paint, a 7 Ft MH Extreme, and an Abu Garcia Revo S.
  17. Welcome Aboard! I dont know your price range, but I just bought an Abu Garcia Revo S and for 100 bucks its an excellent reel.
  18. All I use on my baitcasting equipment is Big Game and for the price you can't go wrong.
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong but in a magazine I read one time it said that jigs with those type of skirts give a more natural feel to bass. When a fish eats a crawdad it's legs "tickle" the inside of the fishes mouth and those types of skirts are supposed to do the samething. By the way Gman you do have some very quality looking jigs.
  20. I use them mostly for the line tie, I feel they are a little bit more sturdy then round split rings and it seems there is less of a chance of your line slipping out.
  21. During the Classic here in Charlotte Im going to buy an Extreme. Its going to be used for C-rigging, some small swimbaits(Mattlures and such), light pitching, and frogging. Ive got it narrowed down to 7Ft MH or H. THe MH is rated for lures up to 1.5 ounces and the H is rated for 2 ounces. For its application, which would be a better choice? Thanks for the input.
  22. Welcome Aboard!!! I just a basic football head jig with a screw type worm holder from BPS. As far as worms go I use the Zoom Trick worms, but any straight tail finesse type worms would work.
  23. Check out the top of the page where it says "Fishing Articles", a lot of good info there.
