Went out pond fishing on Saturday, air temperature was about 36 degrees. Still managed two bass, one was tiny, and one crappy. Only got a picture of the bigger bass and the crappy. Both caught on Strike King Mini King. This trip was actually to break in the new St. Croix Triumph ML, see pics.

BC combo competition and opinions
For 140 bucks the Citica/Extreme is a great combo, I love mine. The 200 is obviously larger and heavier then the 100 but its not uncomfortably large. I by no means have large hands and I like the feel of it. Can't help you with the Revo/XML combo havent used rod or reel, hope this helps anyways.

Question About Posting
You might have got the problem solved but just in case, you have to compress the photo. This was the reason your picture didnt show up. The photo has to be 150 KB or less to attach them.

Question About Posting
When you attach a picture to a post the paper clip should appear. To do this go to "Browse" which is directly below the message box and search for the picture you want to attach. After you have found the picture click open and then the address of the picture will appear in the bar beside "Browse" then just hit post when you are done typing the message, like I said the paper clip should appear.

New guy with basic questions
Bass fishing from the bank is definitely possible. With spinnerbaits and inline spinners just tie them on, and then chunk and wind, till you get comfortable with them then you can vary your retrieve speeds and angle.

what holds your tackle?..
I use the bag that i got free when I bought an Ugly Stik rod a while back. It holds 9 3600 series Plano Boxes. And one of these to hold my rods and extra spoils of line and bags of plastics. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=86101&hvarDept=100&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=11&hvarSubCode=7&hvarTarget=browse

$100 magnesium spinning reel.
I have a Plfueger Ascender, which is pretty much the Medalist just 2 less ball bearings, and I love it. It is very smooth and hasn't failed me once. Pflueger makes some great quality stuff and I can't wait for the Supreme to hit the market.

Spinning Drag vs. Casting Drag
I was looking around on the Shimano website and I got to looking at the drag ratings for all the reels. It seemed like the spinneing reels on average have a higher drag ratings, kind of suprised me. The Citica 200D has a drag rating of 10 lbs where as the Stradic 2500 (to me is comparable to the Citica in spinning) has a drag rating of 12 lbs and the 4000 and 5000 have a rating of 18 lbs. Is this usually the case?

Lure making tips
Its a pretty hard wood, so I guess ill be alright without the long screw. Thanks for the info.

Silver Thread
Silver Thread and Big Game are all i use. I use Big Game in 12 and 15lb, and Silver Thread for anything above that since it has a smaller diameter. Ive had good experiences with Silver Thread, just use a line conditioner for the memory, or at least for the bigger diameters, and it will be a great line.

Spinnerbait Suggestions
To add to the blade configuration. I fish willow leaf blades 95% of the time, I just change blade color according to water clarity. Clear water=silver blades, Stained water=combo, Muddy water=gold blades. Now if the water is extremely muddy ill fish a colorado blade but i rarely run into that.

Lure making tips
Alright Thanks, then thats what ill use. It doesn't have to be very professional looking, just thought it would be neat to make some kind of lure. Should they be kind of long so they get a good grip in the wood?

Lure making tips
I was walking my girlfriend back to her apartment today and i picked up a piece of a stick on the way. I had my pocket knife with me so i started messing with it. I got to thinking man this is solid wood and pretty heavy, and wouldnt be hard to make a lure of some sort out of it. Im thinking im going to make a topwater popper with it. My question is what is the best way to attach the hooks? I was thinking about using something like the eye screw in the pic, would this be alright to use?

Family violence, take action.
Oh man the wooden spoon memories, I have a few myself. Punishing a child is something that at times needs to be done, but abusing should never be accepted. Like stated earlier, thats take a real lowlife kind of person to even think of something like that.

another reel
You might want to check out the new Citica 100s, Ive heard they are a pretty sweet little reel and only 120 bucks. I have the 200 and really like it, but it wouldnt be the best for lite lures.

Spinnerbait Suggestions
I agree with dodgeguy about the 3 colors, thats all i fish. For brands Ill give my vote for booyah.

lipless crankbait
I use mostly Rattlin Rapalas. I just bought a couple Excaliburs, but havent had a chance to try them out.

spinner baits/spinning rods
I think a M would definitely get the job done, being that they are open hooks. I jus bought myself a 6'6' ML and I plan on throwing some light spinnerbaits, less then 1/4 ounce.
