Way to go!! Those are some nice fish.
  3. Spinnerbait would get my vote.
  4. For flipping and pitching you do want a stout rod, but for less sparse cover a MH rod would do just fine. You still have a weedguard to punch through so want some backbone in the rod.
  5. Spinnerbaits are one of my favorite pond lures. I live in North Carolina myself and its about the time they are making beds or already on them getting ready to spawn. I went out the other day and could see them in the shallows and would pitch a senko right in front of their nose and they would look at it and swim away. So it might just be a tough time. Keep at it and you'l find them.
  6. Nice fish. Way to go!
  7. Went out to a pond near campus with a buddy of mine. After receiving my baits from rosewalt through the baitswap I thought I would give them a try. Im kind of a beginner to chatterbaits but I thought I would fish it like a jig. Well it worked out for me. Caught 3 overall none less then 2 lbs with one pushing 3 lbs. I only got pictures of 2 of them because i forgot to save the first one. Thanks rosewalt.
  8. Bank mostly, but boat occasionaly.
  9. I actually picked some up tonight, thought I would give it a try.
  10. I use the Booyah Swim'n Jig with a Zoom Swimmin Chunk
  11. Sounds like a good day. Nice fish!
  12. I also use a spinning rig for skipping under docks and overhangs.
  13. They look awesome.
  14. Look at it this way if you don't get addicted to tobacco you will have more money to spend on your fishing addiction, I know I have one.
  15. And Welcome Aboard!!!
  16. Yea guys have fun and enjoy the camarodarie
  17. I have both of these reels and think both of them are awesome. As far as brakes go I wouldnt be worried about either kind, to me the only difference is ease of adjustment, but with centrifugal all you do is set 2 or 3 brakes and you'll be fine. If money is an issue then the S is the way to go, its a quality reel and for 100 bucks its a heck of a deal. The only difference appearance wise is there is a few plastic pieces on the S where as the SX doesn't have them and the metal around the drag star and handle seems a little more stout on the SX. Performance wise the SX is a tad smoother but not a huge difference and of course has the magnetic brakes. You cant go wrong with either of them in my opinion.
  18. Man that is an oustanding day, wish I had just one like that. I agree with Avid the color and patterns on that second fish is just amazing, probably the best I've seen. Awesome job FC!!!!!
  19. I just recently started fishing crankbaits with any success and have really taken a liking to shallow, cover bumping cranking. My question is what are some of yalls favorite crankbaits for bouncing off cover? From what I've tested of them I really like the Bomber Square A's and the Norman Fat Boys.
  20. Congrats!!! And me and him share the same birthday, kinda neat.
  21. I have to agree with Bass XL, like him I have both of the reels. You can't wrong with either, they are both quailty reels.
