I pound the bank too man! It's easy to just sneak up on a spot and hit it. I know the boat gets you to cool places, but it's a mission. Now if were talkin' lake front property... ;D I'd be one of the guys with feeders and piles.

Whats up bro?! I use the zoom ones w/ a gammy 4/0 ewg. Black was killer, so was that grey ghost, and so is watermelon flake. Throw it out and pull it in so it makes wake. Try different speeds till you get the ripple you need/want. I like to fish it parallel to the shore near stuff. It works alot better for me really early in the morning, like right before the sun comes up. You have to learn to feel the fish before you rip up on the rod though, at least I did. I would get caught up in the moment and rip the frog back at mach 2. I learned to wait till I felt the weight, then I'd set (learned that right here folks). Tw53487 is right the hits are really cool. It is really exciting fishing at night and having a big bass splash a hit right next to you. later, Al
  8. We had a get together not to long ago at that lake. We stayed at the FMA side. Grilled some, drank some, caught some. It was great. I'm down for a re-do. Everybody caught fish that day. WPDude was killing them on the spinner, AAA on the worm, Avid I think was using a stick bait, and I did a senko/lizard switch off. I liked the chilling by the grill part the best, because the company was great. Thats when Syfer420 showed up and started catching bass too. Nice place. Lots of tables if you get there early enough. Nice job Bassn Blvd, getting it done in a new place. Makes you feel pro don't it?!
  9. Nice. Good time no doubt. Peter you are a lucky guy to have your own personal honey hole. The biologist wouldnt be John would it? Dude I'm down the next time you go looking for a partner. That hat is so un-Floridian. ;D ;D Al

Nice job. I've had the same happen w/ my phone and end up w/ pics of the sky and or grass. That sux about the pics, but the moment lives. Gotta love them peacocks.
  11. Green PowerPro 40 or 50. I like 40. You will need a really sharp knife or razor to cut it clean. Keep it wound tight on the spool, and keep the tight line away from rocks. Cut any fraying line off. Thats pretty much it. Al
  12. Those are great times brother!! Now go celebrate at Hooters. Al
  13. Way to go! Al
  14. I got an extreme rod last March and just bought two more when they went on sale again. I really liked it/them. I caught my kid using one to dig up an and pile with the tip as I was fishing. I bet my reaction would have been different if it was a $400 rod. No nicks or dings. He was wacking them pretty good to, the little.... :-X
  15. My buddy tells me they are trying to sell a "super lube all" under the name of gunbutter out-there. Not this company, I don't think. I just was refering to the use of butter in the title. The product is being marketed to gun guys. Maybe, just maybe this might be the case here, but its just a maybe. ;D As I understand that oil is red/brown. Like ATF mixed w/ teflon and stuff. The stuff sells for like $20 a bottle. The size of a small liquid paper bottle w/ a micro oiler. The dudes say they worked for nasa at one time too. I don't know nothin' bout no oils .
  16. Nice job Avid. I went out today and ony got 3 dinks. I saw a bunch of schooling baby bass though. Don't know what that means, but I mean alot. Al
  17. As a matter o' fact yes. I got beat by my 3yr old kid last time we went out. No lie. I cast it out for him and he reels it in. He nailed two dinks on a senko. Me....nada (A hundred casts, mind you. I wasn't going down easy). Next he proceeds to trash talk me, saying he's the pro, and I catch grass! I love fishing with my kid. Makes getting skunked one of the best feelings out there.

Yes it's the wait. The lure does "its thing" as it falls. It's like a side to side thing on the fall. You could do all sorts of things like twitch or slash or jerk. I get better results with std 3/0 & 4/0 gammy ewgs' vs hvy gammy ewgs'. They fall "less straight". I get the best results when the bass are biting though ;D
  19. I'll admit it, I check. When I'm out the door. I don't plan on fishing by them, I'd never get to go. ;D
  20. Skip the weight. It will cast way out just fine. Al
  21. I grew up fishing live bait too. I just find lures less messy and easier to get around with. I also find them quite challenging. Its hard to fish a lure. At least it is for me. I know there are some folks who just drop the lure in and get hit, but that ain't me. I'm with you Avid, go get a hawg on a lure. Relish in the challenge. Kind of like spanking an expensive german car with my old hand built 5.0 when I was a kid. The look on their faces was priceless. No boost, no bottle, just motor. Al
