  1. I hope it's over. I really didn't want to see him as a Viking anyway.
  2. Way to go, Wayne!! Congrats.
  3. Oh yes. My wife and several of her friends are addicted to it (and Farmville; I don't know the difference). I bet she spends at least two hours a night plowing and planting (other peoples crops too). You'd think with my Ag background that I'd be interested, but I'm not. I just keep wishing all the $$$ she makes on her pretend farm was real. She did however talk me into getting a facebook account about a month ago.
  4. Sorry guys! That's what I get for being away. You all know me, I just want everyone to get along as best they can. I WAS a bit tired the other day when I posted my comment. God bless, FOM All cool!
  5. After begin away awhile, I see the name-calling and ridicule hasn't gotten any better. Come on, guys! We're better than that!! >
  6. I saw the 80's "Flash Gordon" on the channel line-up yesterday. Talk about a corny movie (the only thing worse was "Tron"). I picked up "Strange Brew" on DVD a couple of year's ago. I'm going to have to watch it this week. "Take off, eh. . . you hoser!!"
  7. I forgot that you had changed it from those ghastly banshee creatures. After seeing Cart7's I'll agree that it is pretty creepy!!
  8. well id probably like to wish u a kikn bday b/c ur a gr8 guy! LOL ;D Seriously, Mike. I hope you had a great birthday!! God bless, Fisher
  9. I haven't seen cart7's latest, but I've always thought that Jimzee's are really creepy.
  10. And I was really starting to warm up to this guy, especially after the new Arm and Hammer baking soda commercial where he gives the family members a nudge to yell at the camera. Very sad indeed!
  11. Thank you Arctic Cat. I noticed that a few weeks ago along with alot of "iffy" language by some (blanking out letters of cuss words, etc.) and some derrogatory/suggestive remarks that may not be suitable for minors. One thing to consider is that we are getting pretty big around here and have alot more diverse membership (that's not an excuse, mind you). It doesn't hurt one bit that we bring this to everyone's attention so that we can work together in bringing back the same old "family-friendly" atmosphere that we once had. God bless, Fisher
  12. Although I don't think I've ever bought any of his music (you didn't have to as it was/is still played heavily on the radio), he was truly a unique talent. I enjoyed much of his music. His life (and death) just serves as a reminder to all of us. Money and fame don't buy happiness. I am even more thankful for my very modest life! My heart goes out to his fans and family members.
  13. I've been that way following my two surgeries. Anesthesia really kicks my butt for several weeks/months following. Sleeping habits are whacked, as well as my normal thought processes, etc. Like Rhino said it sounds like your bio clock is messed up. Have you tried any OTC sleep aids for a few nights (not more than a week or so)? These might keep you asleep past three a.m. and allow you to get a full night's rest and your body back into its old habits. It is always a good idea to contact your Dr. or his/her nurse to get some advice. More than likely they'll want to see you, but if you have good insurance, it might be worth 25-35$ co-pay to assure you that you are on the right track.
  14. Even though I played soccer for about 4 years growing up, I really have no interest now in watching it. I realize that it IS very physically demanding (as is hockey; another I don't watch). I will, however, watch olympic, finals, world-cup games. Every sport represents different challenges, both mental and physical. Honestly, I would think that golf is the least physical of them, but I really enjoy it. What it lacks in physicality, it makes up for in mental skill and dexterity. One "sport" that I think has no place on TV (ESPN, etc.) is poker. Watching someone play cards? Grass growing, concrete curing, paint drying, etc. . . all more interesting than that!! Sorry Avid, thanks for sharing that information regarding the U.S. team. What an accomplishment for them beating Spain!! Go team USA!!
  15. Agreed! My wife bought me a Gerber a while back. I can't tell you how many times it's come in handy. Amen to that. My wife gave me one for a gift years ago and it's the greatest tool I've ever had. That one-handed operation is excellent for a fisherman. (Hands above leatherman type tools) But, chances are, if he's hardcore, he's probably already got some type of pliers. I'd go with a gift card, or, if he's got a porch/deck without much bling, one of those bass thermometers or antique fishing signs are neat. My bass thermometer blew off the porch wall recently, and gee, I'd sure like another. :'(
  16. Funny you should post this. We just drove past the one (as we have several times) in Texarkana yesterday on the way to the in-laws in Little Rock. I've always been tempted to stop in, but I've never been sure of how and where to exit to get to it. It's kind of on a side of the interstate where nothing else is. Since I'm traveling with my family, I'm not going to take too much time to leave the roadway and find it. I wonder how many others have not gone in their store for the same reason.
  17. Advertising a WWII movie with hard-rock guitar music in the background. . . kind of strange. I know war was gory, but I would think all the vengeful killing would discredit the integrity of the American soldier (or at least my image of them).
  18. Although not having the privilige to exhange written dialogue with Hector (it sounds as though I missed out), I am saddened by the loss of a fellow forum member. I will lift his family and friends up in my prayers. -Fisher
  19. You know, Avid, you've put me in the mood for some bass on my table too. I grew up eating them often, but haven't had one in many years. The next 2-3 pounder I hook up with better watch out.
  20. Rangers? I'm even shocked that their doing this good. We'll see if they can keep it up. Should've taken the Yankees series, but a Boston win tonight was sweet! Go Texas!!
  21. Cannot agree more! Remember to enjoy these times while you can. Also understand that life won't wait for you. The sooner you are able to move on, you'll be better off. There are a few of my former students who have free (or partial) rides to college and are moping around not wanting to leave home. I can't speak for everyone, but I don't keep in contact with any of my high school classmates. College will present new opportunities and experiences as well as life. Good luck to you in all that you do! God bless, Fisher P.S. There are still alot of schools here in Texas that don't graduate until this weekend.

  23. Unless she is a Genius and a Cheerleader, im gonna go out on a limb and say she is older than 12. As far as the attractive part goes, i havent quite made it to her face yet. I said she look's like she's 12, not that she was 12. Sorry, just not my cup of tea.
  24. Guys, she looks like she's 12 and isn't even that attractive! Geez! :
