I sometimes order online, but for the most part I like my local takle shop. They know me by name and the service is top rate.They are very well stocked,but if they dont have it they'll order it and will have it in a couple days at no extra charge.Yea,they are a little pricey on some things but well worth it in the long run,cause man they take care of me .And I like helping out the local(little) guy. just my .02

If you are worry about the price of hooks you are in the wrong hobbie I'd have to say I disagree,you dont need $200 poles,$300 reels and new hooks every time out to fish.Some are on a budget sharpening hooks will work just fine. NOone said anything about disturbing them could care less I said IMO I dont see the sport in it .Bass fishing to me has always been the art of catching something you can't see but know is there,and tricking them by making something that isn't real seem real.I have know problem with guys who sight fish or who fish for spawner to each his own. Just not for me.Sorry if i came off wrong

I can see that Lifting large bass by lipping could possibly cause jaw damage this is my the big girls get another hand under that big old belly taking weight and pressure off the jaw JMHO Looked for more info on this here is what i found LAND FISH QUICKLY, AVOIDING DAMAGE TO SLIME COATING! Grasp fish by lower jaw only, holding them vertically. Support large fish with a wet hand under the belly. Use soft, knotless nylon or rubber landing nets. Do not allow fish to touch boat carpet and rub off protective slime. Remove hooks quickly with as little tissue damage as possible. I am not saying anyone is right or wrong, this is just what i belive and try to practice just my .02

Nashiem, Sounds to me like you pretty much got it figured out.The only thing I do different is I use 4/0 or 5/0 EWG hooks on worms and creatuer baits.And no there not to big they may look it.But look at the mouth were dealing with :)Used to use 2/0 and 3/0 had the say problem you were having,But since I switched up no problem at all

I agree 100% a backpack works great, It is what I always used But,now I've found a better way when I go pond fishing ,I downsize my tackle,I once carried everything with me and wouldn't touch about 3/4 of it.I now carry one small box,and one bag of mixed plastics.These fit in my pocket or a fanny pack.Makes things easy and more enjoyable(JMO) I mean,Do you really need ,25-30 bags of plastics? If so i'd say your changing baits way to often.Somtimes you need to change your presentation ,not lure or color.

Why are we crazy, know one said they didnt like fishing ponds we were just discusing the differents between lakes and ponds. All I fish is ponds and pits( my choice)And I'm very happy about it. 8-)If catching hawgs in ponds is crazy then lock me up
