Obviously-I may be waiting too long to set the hook but, when I haven't waited, I miss. Please advise. Followup- Since there is the possibility of this happening...what is the best way to remove the hook without killing the bass? Can you cut the hook off and make it easier? Look, Ill be the first to tell you that i pretty much flat out suck at bass fishing, but, i do try to keep good records not so much to count total numbers of fish but to see when, where, what, and how i got them to bite. Im trying to set up my own pattern in a few years. This is the point of why ppl keep records. 2007; incomplete records 2008; 1 That wasn't the question asked. Count me in to the plastic boat posse. 8ft. pelican bass raider I've had mine three years and no problems at all. 100% portable I throw it on top of my blazer(4x4)everything else in the back.I launch anywhere.some pits I fish can be alittle extreme to get into(that's where the 4x4 comes in).Built a console for front of it,to mount depth finder ang gps.Plug console into boat and plug trolling motor into console.Right now its in the basement Getting some mods done(rod holders,new seats reworking console and floor board).Thats right basement,coming in at 4'x8'and 90lbs.Its easy for me to handle alone.I just lean it against the wall out of the way.I fish alone most of the time,and its a great one man craft.My daughter comes with me from time to time its a little cramped,but I scale down what I bring and it works just fine.May not be for everybody but it works for me.

BUCKnut, Not sure exactly where your located,but the stillwater, little miami,and the great miami river offer some awsome smallie fishing.Not to mention hundreds of creeks and streams.Now they all dont produce size but the action is hot,and I usally manage lots of 2lbers and several over 3lbs.Try tidal waters below low dams,outside bends where brush and timber pile up,and any and all rip rap,rocky banks. Hey ohiobass,I see you are from Xenia. So I'm sure you know Trebien Rd.Right off 35.The new bridge over the little miami, stuck a 3.5lber just up stream from ther last year.So I would give them smallies a try if not your missing out on some great fishing. Rondef You all ways seem to have alot to say about the Pats.Its just a shame you never seem to get the facts or stats right. When the Jets did it they had permision from the pats,and also from the NFL. They were doing endzone shots not sneaking around stealing signals (spygate) disgraceful.Now it seems that this(cheating)has been going on for awhile probably since he was with the Browns. I got a cardiff 300 last year ,for smaller swimbaits.Very happy with it, Alot of reel for 99 bucks. 4biz nice tip on the oversized handle.Will have to look into it.Got big hands and I like the idea of a little more leverage

My 10 year old daughter Abby, has been bass fishing for a couple years now.But this year she really got into it.She will often wake me up at 5 a.m. to go fishing she loves it and is pretty good to.

Have to say I agree with Matt on this one. What we have here is possibly two of the best built,best quaterbacked,and best coached teams in history,IMO.This game has the makings of being better than any superbowl we've seen in a long time.Or could be a yawner.But I don't think so.But, for the Pats.to go to Indy,in the dome(12 game home win streak)and not give the Colts the respect that they have earned(THE CHAMPS),Is just not very smart,and could possible be there down fall.But I bet Brady and the boys are a little more worried about it than Pats. fans.I have been to Indy in the dome,man that place rocks,talk about noise,WOW And very well might be the most hostile place the Pats have played so far(well since Jan. and I think we all remember how that went) rondef You said The Titans and Jags are a joke period,Like I stated that division is not a tough division to play in. : Houston is the worst team in Indy's division,and they are statisticly better than any team in the Pats division.(and almost as good as any team the Pats have faced all year)So if the teams in Indy's division are a joke,and not tough then what does that make the pats division...... tin2win, Very interesting stuff.But be careful what you wish for.This game very well could deciede home feild advantage If I were a Pats fan the last place i'd want to go in Jan.
