Lure Quizz !
Cooper Loor by the Cooper Lure Co ..... Wasn't able to find much info about it, except that the company was located in West Huron Street in Chicago, IL. I just wonder how they swim ? Do you have one ?

can any one else see through this
I agree with you ... better trust your friends than people who get money promoting a product. Don't get me wrong... I'm a huge fan of KVD and I know Sponsors/marketing blabla are mandatory if we want to be able to follow tournament trails for many years to come.... I'm just not sold on the "bait that wins" stuff ! Find the fish first ... and then they are bass after all(I know they're often harder to catch that what we expected) but I'm pretty sure it's not because I don't have a sexy shad lure to throw at them. Come on ! We don't even know if they see colors like we do. Plus I've never used any sexy shad colored lures ... the color looks good yeah ! But I've tons of Chartreuse shad baits and I feel like there's no difference (I know this has already been debated elsewhere).

Wake Crankbaits ? When ?
Well, thank y'all ! I guess I will have to do my best to cast them this year. Funny, cause all the conditions you mentioned are the ones which would make it thrown a buzzbait ... and normally if the buzzbait fails to produce, I'd usually switch to a stickbait with a more subtile natural profile, and allowing me the possibility to pause the bait. Well, I may be able to find a slot for this wake type crankbaits between the buzz and the sammy. I'll try Thanks 8-)

A few pics.....
Well be sure to understand that this is not the chub you'll find in the US... this one grows much bigger as everybody can see. Not the same species anyway. A 20" chub is not that rare here. Check this out : http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=4482 They will hit just about any lures, even caught one on a swimbait and some with texas-rigged brush hogs. They are far from being good fighters and often considered as trash-fish (although when you get skunked on bass, you're always happy to find them) In fairly small waters like small streams here, they are very very spooky and freaking hard to catch... the fly-fishermen use them a lot as training.....way smarter than a rainbow for sure. But in big rivers they're pretty dumb. Here's one I caught yesterday ! Right in the middle of Paris... as you can tell from the pic, it's pretty cold here. (Sorry guys, the picture is blur ... I'm trying to understand how my new camera works .... and still have a hard time with night-shot) Sorry to jack the thread Daniel ! :-X

Hum Little Napoleon .... sounds like a pleonasm ;D ! By the way.... He was called Napol éon Bonaparte in France (which he chose)... his birth-name being Napoleone di Buonaparte. Just thought I would share that..... And again congrats on all those beautiful bass, and I totally understand why you protect your spots...

Lure Quizz !
Well .... a little misunderstanding here Rondef ! Indeed the world record largemouth bass was caught with a CCBO Wigglefish .... But the lure in picture is not a CCBO. The hint I was giving was that the brand was founded in 1932 (the year the WR Largemouth Bass was caught by George Washington Perry) Be sure to check the picture of the lure to find on the previous page.

Lure Quizz !
Nope .... yes Worden lures was also started in 1932 I think, but the two brands have nothing to do with each other, except maybe for some slight similitudes between models. I'm pretty surprised that nobody has this bait in his tacklebox ....

Heavy Shallow Cranks
These below are what I use/have... most of them are fat cranks tough. Never tried this Spro but it looks promising anyway. Don't know that many big heavy flat shallow runners. Strike King Pro mod Series 4S = 3/8oz Mann's C-4 Elite 4 feet = 3/8oz Bagley Bagley Bulgin' B 3 = 5/8oz Original B'3 = 5/8oz Lucky Craft RC BDS 2.5 = 1/2oz RC BDS 3.5 = 3/4oz Fat CB BDS 1 = 3/8oz 2 = 1/2oz 3 = 1/2oz 4 = 3/4oz Fat CB SSR = 5/8oz Fat CB SR = 3/4oz

Plain awesome ! Looks like you smoked them .... That's more bigfish than I will see in one year, and maybe even two. Congratulations ! 8-)

Lure Quizz !
Not a storm and not a Beef Stu Stink either ;D ... Ok let's be serious .. The brand which manufactures this lure was established in 1932 (pretty much a mile-stone in Bass Fishing History ... some guy from Georgia caught a decent bass this same year ). Anyway, here's a hint : the brand has an history of funky-looking crankbaits featuring weird lips and little wings on the body. One of their crankbaits really is a Bass trap ! Any idead ?

Kevin VanDam-website
Well I knew the website but I had never taken the time to visit everything ... thanks for pointing out those great videos. 8-)

Bobby Lane
Yop Bobby Lane if off to a pretty good start this season ! He's pretty strong right now... but that was indeed in his home-state. I know he has some versatilty like you said Warmer ... but I'm curious as to how long he will remain at the top of the AOY rankings. Let's see .. I wish him all the best anyway. Now another angler who is starting pretty strong is Brett Hite on the FLW Series, with back-to-back wins. I'm not as big a follower of the FLW trail as I'm for the B.A.S.S circuit but he's good ... First he won the Wal-Mart FLW tour event on Toho with a 20-pound margin over 2nd place and then after driving accross the whole country, he won the Wal-Mart FLW Series event on the Delta in faraway California. Quite an accomplishment if you ask me

Wake Crankbaits ? When ?
Just got a new Rick Clunn Wake from LC... it's like the next RC in two segments. It's basically a wake topwater crankbait .... and I gotta say I don't use these cranks much ... I use a lot of shallow running cranks, but I can't seem to use a topwater crank like this one or the Mann's Waker. :-? When fishing topwater (slop apart) I tend to rely on poppers, stickbaits, propbaits and buzzbaits. I understand those wakers are made for steady retrieve. So when do you favor a wake crankbaits over a buzzbait ? To me, I don't see much difference between the two in therm of action (ok the crankbait you can kill it and it will stop and floats ... but if I want to be able to do so, I usually switch to a prop-bait ! Waiting for your advice on how to fish those topwater cranks .... or they will just stay dry in the box for another year. Thanks ! For all the LC fans, here's a picture below so you can see what it looks like.

Favorite Lipless Crank?
Same here Sodaksker ... I love the LV-R D7 ... and a big fan of the LVR Mini too. I also use a lot of Rat-L-Trap. My favorite color is red-craw/mad-craw (name depends on brands). Never tried the SK Red-eye Shad .... but chances are, KVD's tremendous promotion job and the bait monkey will help me get a couple

Attention Tackle Makers
They all look very good ! Savannah, you've got a gift for painting... I know some custom painters on the internet have colors that are more like the real thing ... but I like yours too ! They have their own style I think. Love the lay-out on those pictures too, although the Red-Devil one looks kinda blur. Keep it up 8-)

Lure Quizz !
Sorry to AvalonJohnn44, cause he had Zoom W.E.C first. Anyway, here's the next mystery .... which shouldn't be that hard ! I know the brand has been taken over lately, but you can still give the name of the original brand.... I don't care for buy-outs and mergers

Detailed how to on making wooden swimbaits...
I use a super-glue that I mix with very fine sawdust, which gives a wood aspect somehow .... I feel it also makes the glue part harder.... I use the same sawdust+glue when I have to correct a mistake a wooden lure .... Sometimes you just carve too much : Hope it helps !

Discontinued Plastic QUIZ
Well it sounds like a great idea .. maybe I should change the name on the first topic and turn it into "Hardbait quizz" and yours would be "softbait quizz" .... Anyway, I'll try to find a few of those mysterious antique softbaits (though I suck at identifying old plastics) ! Long live the "Discontinued Plastic Quizz" ! 8-) ....and I don't have a clue what these lures are. :-?
