If I had the chance to learn either way I'd go right hand. There's a better selection of reels in right than left, although left is catching up.

I use a cavitron, watch the bassresource video on buzzbaits then do the mods, it made a big difference in the sound.

I put my little bass raider on the water thinking I'd just use the trolling motor to fight the little bit of wind... well I left ready to sell the boat I told the wife I wasn't taking it out again until I got a couple anchors, it's just to much hassle fighting the wind!

I do have Photobucket, I'll have to try it, but I also downloaded that photo shrinker app mentioned up thread and it seems to be good.

It's just weird, I could always post any of them before? Oh well, I'll look into the photo shrinker. Thanks

Welcome to the forums. I've been throwing one a lot this year and I've had a wonderful hook up rate with the 3". I've got the 3 1/2" but I haven't caught one on it yet. Have you tried bending the hooks out a little?

A bluegill was my first catch on a new megabass vision 110 jr jerkbait, I caught 5 or 6 on a yo-zuri jerkbait. I think if a bluegills mouth got as big as a basses, well I think the fish population would be in trouble!

I've seen them charge bluegills I've hooked, Never had one grab it though! Awesome story!

My dad caught one about that size once, I remember that it was a heck of a fight! Strangest catch for me was a frog with a frog, a big 'ol ticked off snapping turtle, my middle finger my buddy caught the back of my head once when we were teenagers, luckily for me the hook was going fast enough it just ripped through the skin instead of getting stuck in it. Luckily for him I can't swim or I would have drowned him!

That's right. Use the cheap line just to fill the spool 2/3's of the way then finish with about 75 yards of braid then add a leader if you want one. Works great.

Put some 10-15 pound power pro braid on that new reel when you get it, you're definitely going to be loving life with that combo!

@fishnkamp laid out solid recommendations for rods and reels, my suggestion is to look at the Fenwick hmg line. I've got the spinning and casting rods and I really like them. They will run you $100.

So if any of you are interested, gander mountain in Avon still has a ton of stuff. I picked up a Fenwick HMG that was 20% of, discounts vary, but most were 20%-30%

Got out this morning to try out some new stuff that arrived yesterday. I got a tackle warehouse order and mtb on the same day, it was a good day caught several on the Ned rig, caught 2 on my new buzzbait, and had a few blow ups on the live target sunfish. Oh, I caught one on my first (and probably only) megabass jerkbait... it was a daggone bluegill! a bluegill on a $25 jerkbait! Good grief Charlie Brown!

I've caught fish with a white top water then turned around and caught them with black within minutes of each other. The things I noticed that drew the looks was surface commotion. A popper got a few looks, but something that was rustling around that looked like it was struggling got eaten.

No, I didn't do anything to them. My first one was out of an mtb box, my daughter lost it the other day, I just bought the 3 1/2" today. I was hooking up with them like crazy, I also have a jawbone one that got hit a lot but I never managed to hook up with any.

I've been killing them with my live target sunfish.
