  1. Reminds me of my last date with my wife...
  2. Frogs are mean suckers, they will destroy a plastic frog! Sometimes hooksets aren't free, we've all set the hook on a trophy stump or tree limb, I did several times the other day, but sometimes you will just feel something, and your brain will say "that's a fish" it's really awesome when it happens, it's almost like a mental thing.

Ours marked the senkos down to $6, but they didn't put any kvd stuff out.
  4. Got about 3 hours in tonight after the wife got home from work. I caught 2 or 3 small spotted bass and 1 little smallmouth. Definitely not great but much better than going to get groceries!
  5. Nothing like a swig of jj's to wake you up in the morning!

I found the clearance aisle tonight... I'm really proud of that Yamamoto crankbait. The only thing that wasn't a lower price was the crankbait, all the hooks were from 75 cents to a dollar.
  7. Man I thought I was really living with my lews lfs and fenwick hmg
  8. Wow, $500!?!? I don't even know where to start! Probably a lews team pro reel, I've only looked at them in passing due to the price. For the rod I don't know, I haven't even begun to research rods that will finish off that budget!
  9. I doubt you will get access, even with the waiver. For one thing, they can still be held liable if something happens on their property, especially if the person that signed the waiver is dead. Another issue is that most corporate centers are leased properties, so they couldn't give you permission even if they wanted to.
  10. Man if that ain't the truth! It sounds like you should go to a store and handle some reels to see which ones fit you best. I'm sure the performance aspect of three different manufacturers $100 reels will be similar, but the way they fit you might make a big difference.
  11. The tournament mb? The my has dual brakes, 14 pounds of max drag, some cool looking gold trim I am actually looking to buy an mb soon, I already have an lfs and it's a good reel, I'm going to use the lfs on a moderate fast rod for treble hook baits and the mb for frogging and single hook stuff.
  12. We need an unlike button ?
  13. For $75, I'd buy another one. There's nothing wrong with them, they are smooth, and the drags are good. If I was in the market for another one I'd ****** it up.
  14. The first day of spring is tomorrow... the first day of spring is tomorrow... the first day of spring is tomorrow... the first day of spring is tomorrow...
  15. The lure weight recommendations are a pretty good starting point, a little lighter my reduce casting distance, a little heavier may lob the bait. Really Catt is right, there's no rules, but sometimes life is easier when you have the proper tool for the job, or proper weight for the rod
  16. I don't have a catfish setup as I normally don't target them but imho, an ugly stick would be ideal for catfish. They are seriously indestructible! I saw a video of a guy online trying to break one, it was pretty amazing the amount of things it would pick up!
  17. I have a wright McGill 7' 2" medium fast drop shot rod. I think it's the insight vantage, it's one they sell at Walmart, but I love that rod. I have a 40 series limited edition president on it and it will cast a Ned rig a good ways.

Mine had them "on sale" for $6... I was less than impressed.
  19. You know it was 3:00 on a Friday and the guy was dying to get out of work and on the water.
  20. Welcome to the forums!
  21. I always heard dipping them in boiling water would fix them but I've never tried it.
  22. So how do I claim my okuma discount anyway
  23. I have a pflueger president limited edition that is a 40, but it sure doesn't look any bigger than most pictures I see of guys using 2500 series reels.
  24. Or just let her out fish you and act like it's just killing you. Mine loves to go as long as she does better than me!
  25. This is my chosen leader knot, but I may try the Albright after I can practice it a little
