  1. I quit using Berkeley crankbaits year ago because the lips broke. Only other crank I have broken the bill on was a Poe's RC1 and that was 25 years ago. Allen
  2. Try turning the side cutter upside down as it will have a flatter edge instead of the wedge. Allen
  3. Gander Mountain tried to hire me to work in the fishing department. There were two guys looking for football jigs and the employee had them in the fly fishing section. I decided to help them out then someone else started asking me about spinnerbaits. After I helped a third person the manager approached and said I would be the employee of the week. The customers told him that I was very helpful and they were glad someone with a lot of fishing knowledge worked there. Told him I wasn't one of his employees so he offered me a job on the spot. It was too far of a drive or I would have taken it part time. Allen

Starflash skirts are similar to round rubber and come in more colors. I like using them when I need a bulkier profile. Allen
  5. Rattle cans work just as well as an airbrush you just can't get the same detail. I use to paint Bandit 200 blanks from JannsNetcraft pumkin orange on the belly and brown back with $0,99 spray paint. For clear coat the easiest best option you have in 2 part epoxy. Devcon 2 ton 30 minute (Don't get the 5 minute) 2 part epoxy works great as a clearcoat. Just mix equal parts and brush on with cheap art brushes. Epoxy self-levels just turn the lure a couple times so there are no pools or sags. Allen
  6. It's mostly a flea market and local tackle makers show. You can get some really good deals at these types of shows. Picked up a couple packs of senkos and Keitech swimbaits at the Capitol City one for $2 each. Besides what else are you going to do on a 28 degree day. Allen
  7. Lurebuild.com Allen
  8. Items for sale by drbobstops | eBay This guy on Ebay has blades that are different colors on each side. Allen
  9. If I have any I will trade it to you for something then. Went through a JDM jerkbait addiction phase for about 5 years. Bought one or two of every jerkbait I could find. Allen
  10. Those are going for crazy money on Ebay! What is so special about them? Looked at their website and didn't see any Slender Pointers Allen
  11. I buy everyone I can find at that fishing flea markets. Bought 12 of the brown craw with chartreuse belly ones for $10 once. They are getting harder to find though. Allen
  12. The older ones seem to work better for me, or it just might be a mental thing. Paint jobs look better now but the older ones that look like they were painted in third grade art class are the fish catchers. Allen
  13. Bass quit biting those 8 years ago so send them all to me for proper disposal. Allen
  14. Parts have started to arrive. Allen
  15. Working on one now just have to wait on some more parts to arrive. Figured I would ask if anyone here has built one. Allen
  16. Wonder what that bottom color is? I would like to add Shartop for a place to buy skirt supplies. He doesn't have as many colors as fishingskirts.com but has colors nobody else has. I know most guys only use a couple colors I just like to be able to match anything I want. Allen
  17. Not sure how many crankbait rods I have? Six I know for sure and two or three I am forgetting about. I gave two to a friend but I think he left them here. Taking six rods to the Monohan, PA show to try and sell because they have just been sitting in the rod rack not being used. Allen
  18. That is the way it is on the river here. Last year they would not hit a creature bait and wanted the jig. The year before it was the exact opposite which is why I carry both. Allen
  19. AJ is probably the current record holder here for most crankbait rods. Allen
  20. I am afraid to add up all the baiting stuff I have. My insurance agent had to come by and do an inventory of the bigger items for my policy. Everyone saying a jig lasts multiple trips must not fish rock filled rivers. On average I lose one jig every 2 hours and my record is like 22 lost in one 8 hour tournament. I make 100 finesse jigs in January every year hoping they last a season. The only jigs that last several trips are swim jigs. Allen Allen
  21. Started making my own 20 years ago because I couldn't get the Eakins jigs locally. Just but a bunch of heads and put your own skirts on. All the common colors of skirts you can buy pre-made and I recommend the Hole-N-One skirts that everyone sells. Pre-made heads and skirts it should cost you about $2 each to make a jig. Allen
  22. The title for this thread is flagrant false advertising!🤣 Allen
  23. Yes they do as I have some somewhere in the garage. They also make one like this: https://www.jannsnetcraft.com/310470 Allen
  24. Just ordered an Active Target 2, 16v lithium battery with charger, and misc mounting hardware. Waiting to see what the Lowrance Pros look like in person to see what size I am going to get. Fishing budget is blown out of the water and I still haven't bought the line or weights I need. Allen
