Quick spinnerbait poll...
That's a nice looking bait there. I recommend wire tying or putting a small zip tie on it though as that collar is about to break. Allen

Stupid tube
Do you have a buddy who pours tubeheads? You can bend a 30 degree wacky rig hook to 60 degrees to make some.

Painting jigs heads white
I would just go with the Testors paint Tom suggested. You can use hang the heads to dry using Christmas bulb hangers. Allen

Do you ever opt for translucent walking/prop baits when the water is low and clear and when you do is it also necessary to downsize?
Translucent and silent baits for clear water. Sometimes I downsize but it usually ends up with small fish. Allen

Soft plastics storage
Keep them in the original bags and put all similar baits in a 1 gallon freezer bag. Tried so many methods for storage and this works best for me. Generally, I have a senko, ned bait, creature bait, worm, etc. which allows me to maximize storage and easily find baits I need. Allen

Best color pattern for Alewives?
Wasn't the original Slug-go in this color? Sort of a gray back, pearl belly with a little bit of blue tint? Allen

The Found Lures Thread
Need to get some pics of what I have found over the last year. Since the local Dick's started selling 6th Sense I have been finding a ton of their baits. Hope the 6th Sense lipless are good baits as I now have 8 of them. Allen

Shakey head weights
1/8, 3/16, and 1/4oz are the 3 I use but I could probably get away with just 3/16. Allen

Spinnerbait wire length
Spinnerbait frames are made in standard sizes and will be listed as R3, TW4, etc. R is for R bend and TW is twisted loop which are the most popular. The number behind it corresponds to a specific head and arm length. For example, a standard War Eagle spinnerbait is an R3 while the Screaming Eagle is a R2. Bigger the number the bigger the frame size and 95% of bass baits use a 2-4 frame. Wire type and diameter are the next thing to tackle once you figure out frame size. I would need more information on what you are doing to help you further. Allen

Do Crappie Exceed 20 inches in Length?
My brother caught one on the Potomac when we were teenagers that measured 21.5". At the time I didn't know anything about crappie it was just the biggest one I had ever seen. We threw it back along with everything else we caught and didn't think much about it. When we went to the local bait shop they had pictures on the wall for a biggest fish contest. The biggest crappie so far that year was 17" and when I told the owner what Justin caught he said we probably just threw back the state record. I have caught a lot of 16-19" ones all on jerkbaits in the spring fishing for bass at a small local lake. Allen

Any other musky fisherman?
The secret to catching Musky around here is to use expensive baits and light line. I have never fished for them but usually catch 3 or 4 a year fishing for bass. Last one I caught worth mentioning was 45" 21lbs on a JDM No-Knock LC Sammy. If you can fish the Potomac in western Maryland right now I know exactly where they are. A buddy of mine is a guide and he saw 7 of them cruising around a flat Sunday. The place he was at is also where the state record was caught a couple years ago. Allen

I feel like an idiot because I haven't been able to catch a carp since spring
Years ago I use to fish for them with my brother and friends. What we used was oatmeal with Koolaid mixed in. Grab and handful of oatmeal, put your hand in the water and just keep squeezing until it makes a hard ball. Treble hook with the oatmeal ball no weight has caught 100's of carp for me. My record is 32lbs and the average size we caught were 15-20lbs all day long. Allen
