  1. A little late but when I fished there a couple weeks ago it was very tough. In two days I caught 2 bass and 10 pickerral (I hate those slime rockets) on flukes and senkos. The only advice I can give is they did not want GP or watermelon but shad colored baits. Allen
  2. When the river is high and muddy the bass like to stick very close to the bank or in eddies. They do not like to swim against all that current and waist energy. For me this is the easiest time to catch them as they aren't very hard to find. Black jigs and chart crankbaits work best but other lures will work. Allen
  3. Check with the ROTC program to see what they offer. Make sure you know the commitment before agreeing to anything. ROTC commissions active duty and reserve officers so be aware of which one you agree to. Besides straight ROTC the National Guard has something called Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP). SMP is where you enlist in the Guard and participate one weekend a month for drill. The deal is you are a officer in training and even though you are a part of the unit you cannot deploy because of ROTC. Most of the officers commissioned for the Guard have this type of ROTC scholarship. Allen
  4. 1/8oz 2/0 hook In my experimenting this combination works best. Allen
  5. By null at 2010-09-24 Here are the ones I made for cold water SM fishing. I put a quarter in the pic for size reference. Allen

  7. I found 1 laying downstairs on the table I can take a pic of. The hair jigs I use are really small compared to what most people use. I sent you a PM about where to buy jigs in bulk. Allen
  8. I just started tying them last year for winter SM. Most of the baits I find on the market are not what I want so like most of my baits I will make them myself. Let me see if I can find my most recent ones and I will post a pic (they are not as good as yours). Where do you get your supplies from? I am looking for some grey hair like the second jig and cannot find it. Allen

Well I tested out the orange one yesterday and it is a very slow sinker in 70 degree water. It will suspend for about 5 seconds before it starts to sink so this should work well for cold water. I was trying for a slow floater but this resin is more tricky to weight than wood. Allen

  11. They sell them al Wal-Mart. Allen
  12. Fishing has been a lot better lately in all the areas I fish. Sunday I will be hitting Rocky Gap and hopefully the fall bite is on. Allen
  13. Waiting on the wife to see whats going on that weekend? A 3 day PA license is only like $200 right? Allen

By null at 2010-09-13 My favorite so far as I finally got the dye to work right in the resin. By null at 2010-09-13 Had trouble cutting the lip slot on this one but I usually don't use these types of bills. By null at 2010-09-13 This one I need to figure out where to put the line tie (bill is not glued in yet). Allen
  15. The spinnerbaits are nice but they only come in single blade. I picked up some on clearance for $2 each and use them in places I know I am going to lose them. Allen
  16. I use to just keep buying which is why I have way too much stuff. In the past couple months I have been slowly going through it all. Now I have 66 quart tubs of baits I need to get rid of. Allen
  17. How do you plan on changing them into chatterbaits? I tried cutting the frame just above the head and bending it once and it lasted one fish. Allen
  18. I have to agree on the KVD spinnerbait videos, buy both when BPS puts them on sale. These will save you 2 years TOW trying to learn on your own. Allen
  19. Browsing ebay I found RI vixens for $49 and was shocked. I here about the original wiggle warts selling for about the same and it has me wandering about lure values. In my stash I has some original in the package of both of these along with other discontinued baits. Anyone know the going rate for some of these or whatever baits I sure be looking for? Some of the baits I know I have that seem to be in demand: RI BLV WW in the blue label box TD Dartist Small size risto raps Megabass Visions in deadly black LC Pointer 78sr Just trying to see what the market is as I have way too much stuff just taking up room in my basement. And if you say you can never have enough tackle just ask Speedbead about my lure hoarding. Allen
  20. Nashua speckled trout. I need one about that size for an experiment. Allen

Not sure where you are fishing but if you are hitting the local resevoirs like Black Hills Lake Seneca a T-rigged creature bait will work better. Summertime grass will foul the jig more than say a baby brush hogs and in my experience creature baits work better in the summer. With all that said it is about to be spinnerbait time! No brand infomercials just get a whitish/shad colored bait with double silver willow blades. Allen
  22. Best jig trailer for the past 2 years and I only use GP or blk/red. Allen
  23. What color was the footloose? I should have a couple older ones with the Mustad triple grips. Allen
  24. I actually have that Ultra minnow mold and planned on doing the modification to make these. I also have the seahorse mold that is just a bigger version of the Blakemore roadrunner. Since I have never caught anything on the seahorse ones I made I never modified the Ultra minnow mold. Allen
  25. Sebile Magic Swimmer > this thing looks so good in the water but I haven't even had a follower in 2 years. Like others said this year has been slow and only finesse baits have worked this summer. Allen
