I'm tech challenged. But maybe I got it to copy.

steve kennedy swimming a jig
Another thing he did was use what looked like a zoom super chunk trailer v. a swimming trailer and imparted all the action with his rod tip. Making his bait more versatile as he could pitch with same bait on one cast, then burn it and swim it on another. BTW he was having fun too. Refreshing seeing a guy laughing and cutting up while fitting a 5lb bass on the last day of the classic. I could learn a lot fishing with him for a day. Not only technique, but keeping it fun.

steve kennedy swimming a jig
Anyone see the footage of steve kennedy swimming a jig at the classic. I fish swim jigs a lot and don't think I've ever worked one that fast on top of water column. I tend to slow roll them and need to mix it up more. I know he's not using the fastest reel on the market but he sure is cranking that thing. Can't wait to try it during the shad spawn here. Saw a few shad working the shallows last friday.

First baitcaster
I got a new tatula 100 from academy a couple weeks ago for 89 on clearance.

Jig Rod Setup
I'd like a little tip with a light jig like that. So I'd go MH and probably 14lb sniper floro. 3/0 mustad should be pretty easy to drive home and a little softer tip will help casting.

Steve Kennedy is a Greenie
I saw that. I have two that look just as beat up and still use them. Says a lot when he could use any reel he wanted for free and picks the greenie.

FC or Braid for Chatterbaits
14-20lb floro for me. I think the stretch is more important to the action of the bait than for the hook up. You want the chatterbait to rip out of the weeds then die and fall a bit before pick it back up. That pause is when i get almost all my bites. Stretch in the line gives a better rip/pause action for me.

Who would you fish with for a day?
Luiza

lb test and brand of braid on Baitcaster?
suffix 832 or power pro for me. 50lb most of the time

Seems like a lot heavier weights being used nowadays
Catt has it. Reaction baits of all kind are much more popular now. Seems the pro's are much less about catching numbers now and more about getting five big bites. It trickles down from there to the rest of us.

Multiple setups or one really good setup?
I'm kinda opposite of some. I'd rather have two decent $200 rod/reel combos that do different things than one really nice $400 set up. You can get a lot of really nice reels these days in the $100 range, same is true of rods. I don't like spending alot of time on the water changing lures. I want to be able to pick up a worm rod or jig rod and fire it out there.

What's the skinny on the T-Wing
I think I'll like it. A couple of my lews are starting to breakdown. Release bar sticking, spool not re-engaging very smoothly. They just don't seem to take the wear. Although i do have a bb1 lews that is better built. I just been wanting to try something else.

What's the skinny on the T-Wing
Just took my first dip into diawa reels. Bought a tatula 100 on clearance rack at Academy for $89. I was holding out for an sv but couldn't resist. I've had abu's , shimano's, and lews but this is my first diawa. Can't wait to try it out.

Pre- Spawn
A5, that's a cool reply right there.

Best reel you have used?
old green shimano/bantam curado. it'll throw anything into anything, wind, sleet, hail, dark of night doesn't matter. and hardly ever have to change the braking. first time i picked one up i was amazed. still have two going strong after 20+ years of hard use.

Braid guy looking for a line with some stretch
remember floro sinks and is more dense than mono. it depends on your application. if fishing something on the bottom and feel is important (texas rig, jig, etc.) floro is a better choice. if your fishing topwater than mono is a much better choice. In between is a toss up (spinner baits, swim baits), however i'm leaning more and more towards floro for these applications as well, but mono's not a horrible choice. for cranking i much prefer floro.

Spinnerbait tips
Run it into something, then kill it, then repeat.

Chatterbaits?
I prefer using line with some stretch using chatterbaits. i usually fish them in weedy cover and get almost all my strikes just after ripping it free, line stretch helps give the bait a pause and drop action that gets more bites imho.

H20 xpress
i like their cranks. in fact the fish in my avatar has an h2o sqaure bill stuck it her face.

when to quit the jig
i should have worded that differently. not talkin about quiting jig fishing, i always have one tied on. just looking for ways to mix in a more aggressive approach during the day. should have asked when do you pick up another rod and lay the flippin stick down during the day. its hard for me to get out of the slow methodical rythm of pitching and move or switch up. around here alot of bass spawn at the base of cypress and pitching a jig or plastic is a great way to fish for them. eliminating a jungle of cypress can be time consuming tho.
