military time
A crusty old Sergeant Major found himself at a gala >event hosted by a local liberal arts college. There was >no shortage of extremely young, idealistic ladies in >attendance, one of whom approached the Sergeant >Major for conversation. >"Excuse me, Sergeant Major, but you seem to be a >very serious man. Is something bothering you?" >"Negative, ma'am. Just serious by nature." >"The young lady looked at his awards and decorations >and said, "It looks like you have seen a lot of action." >"Yes, ma'am, a lot of action." >The young lady, tiring of trying to start up a >conversation, said, "You know, you should lighten up >a little. Relax and enjoy yourself." >The Sergeant Major just stared at her in his serious >manner. >Finally the young lady said, "You know, I hope you >don't take this the wrong way, but when is the last >time you had sex?" >"1955, ma'am." >"Well, there you are. You really need to chill out and >quit taking everything so seriously! I mean, no sex >since 1955 ! " She took his hand and led him to a >private room where she proceeded to "relax" him >several times. >Afterwards, panting for breath, she leaned against his >bare chest and said, >"Wow, you sure didn't forget much since 1955!" >The Sergeant Major, glancing at his watch, said in his >matter-of-fact voice, >"I hope not, it's only 2130 now." > >(Don't you just love military time?!)

change of plans
Good deal. Fishing for cutthroats, checking out the scenery. Bars within bike distance, and no girlfriend there, OH, OH,lol. Be strong my friend. When a dark raven haired beauty asked you to dance, don't do it,lol. Like I said, ah, to be young and free again. I would be like a little kid in a Candy Shop. As Curley from The Three Stooges used to say," Kgnaw, kgnaw, kgnaw !!!

On board charger
Mine was 12 years old and I ran it also 24/7. I will call dual pro and see what they can do for me. Any charger that took the beating I gave it deserves another 12 years I guess. Thanks guys. I dump and reload my batteries so much in the winter on the Susquehanna its a wonder it held out that long.
-
Re: Throw tubes up river.
Bassin Leo, do you fish the Susquehanna in the winter at 38-45 degree water temps when its running 5'5"- 6' at the Harrisburg station?, from City Island to Montgomery's Ferry, especially from the statue to Duncannon,as well as around Clemson Island and the PL's? and if you so, do you " drift fish " in these conditions? Just curious.

On board charger
I have had my charger for a long time but, I am afraid it gave up the ghost. The choices are too many for my little mind. I would love some idea's from any guys whom have had good experiances with a brand. I had a Dual Pro. I need a three bank as I run a 36v system. Any ideas? I kind of liked the looks of he Minnkota brand. Thanks.

Setting the hook
Listen to the guys in here. I would try to help but, I am the guy whom watched too much tv fishing when I was younger and have a hookset that is ridiculous. I have a very bad habit of one style. When I feel a fish I practicaly do a Triple Lindy and fly out of the boat with my set. Whether it be #6 line or #25, its all the same for me,lol. Hmmm, I wonder why I break them off on #6? or why do those little 12 inchers come flying at me and crack me in the head or chest? Don't get into this habit. Its one I wish I could break.

College
Good luck to you. Stay focused and don't get caught up in all the crap. Its going to be a new found freedom so from a old guy to a young guy, use your head and not your head, understand? Best to you in all your plans.---Jim

pc, have to hit refresh or reload button
Lol, LBH, You might be right, I have been having a lot of ID 10 T errors in my life lately. After my email this morning, as it seems everytime I post about smallies in the river, maybe I am a ID 10 T. We know I am a know it all stupid MO FO that this person or persons could outfish any day of the week! Hmm, they block my reply and never offered to have a one on one tourny with me. I would not do it anyway. I say he or she was just a no fishin MO FO whom is peed he or she is not having good days. Heck, a lot of the guys that guide or have guided fish the same way and we all hear the same crap. Screw them. I only fish with three different guys now for fun, or at least when my health would allow it. There are a lot better guys on the Susky than me. I wish they would focus on them for awhile, lol. Have a good day!!!

Harold ( the computer guy )
Harold (the computer guy) I was having trouble with my computer. So I called Harold the computer guy, to come over. Harold clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem. He gave me a bill for a minimum service call. As he was walking away, I called after him, "So, what was wrong?" He replied, "It was an ID ten T error." I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, "An, ID ten T error? What's that .. in case I need to fix it again?" Harold grinned.... "Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?" "No," I replied. "Write it down," he said, "and I think you'll figure it out." So I wrote down . I D 1 0 T I used to like Harold.

pc, have to hit refresh or reload button
Lately it seems when I jump from one post to another the page will not load a lot of the time unless I hit the refresh button, or if I am using firefox, the reload button. Is this on my end or has it been a problem for anyone else? Thanks.

Line stretch is not a evil thing
Fivebass, whew, I feel better know, using braid for topwaters I can see. I thought you were using it for tubes, you scared me,lol. Don't tell anyone and I would not admit it again but, it dawned on me that I use braid. I forgot about my flounder rods. We drift for flounder in Chincoteage Virginia on the incoming and out going tides. The braid is great for this purpose. Its less of a drag on the drifts and gives me a little more ommpphh when a occasional carhood sized stingray or big Dogfish, aka Sandshark, Chopper Blue or big Drum hits our rigs. I have Power Pro on them.

Hot river smallie bait
Munkin, no, not you too. Those pricey LC's. I am shocked. And you are a home boy!!! I guess I will have to go to Taylors this winter when the river is lower and get all the ones you lost on the ledges in the Horsebacks!!!,lol. ;D Did L. Shank talk you into buying those da** things?

Line stretch is not a evil thing
Skillet, I don't like Stren but, I will admit, its a strong line for sure and I know a lot of guys whom swear by it. Fivebass, are you pullin my chain? Braid in clear water rivers for smallies? Why not just use #8 test? Its all you need for river smallies. I am a little stunned coming from a veteran, I must say. But, like I said in a previous post, if it works for you, it works for me.

Single, old, and need some pick up lines, lol.
Munkin, you pay 40.00? Wow, they are the high class girls on that street. Seriously, did you ever take a good look at some of them?, no?, then stop up this weekend, lol. ;D Man, Mobydick, you have been single awhile. But, thanks, I will use some of them, lol. ;D

Catt, that is real cool. Fishing out of a 77 should bring back some memories for sure. Remember the state of the art bass boats back then. If you had a 115 on the back it was a screamer.lol. Fifteen bass, 72.78lbs? That is impressive. Indulge us. Tell us what you were catching them on, time of year, etc. That is so amazing. I guess you will always remember that tourny !!! I remember going to Lake Anna in Va when I was about 17 and sleeping in my old Ford Fairlane for two days. I had all this junk stuff to fish with, long hair and it was draw tournys. The old rednecks would cuss if they got the young hippie but, after a while when I got to know everyone I started staying at there houses for the tourny's and made some good friends. We thought we were all that. I remember how we dressed and some of the old boats. Those old narrow Rangers with the seats one in front of the other and 60 hp motors, lol. Boy it was fun. I would not trade those days for a million bucks. Man, thirty years goes by in a blink of a eye.

Thanks to all
Welc :)ome aboard. Yes, fishing is a addiction. Fishing with your children is more than fishing, it is quality time and will generate memories for a life time. Have fun!!!!

Single, old, and need some pick up lines, lol.
I wrote in here not long ago that Eva moved back home. We were together a long time but, she never liked living in this country. She was Austrian and I didn't know what she was saying half the time anyway !!! I would not move there so, we parted. Sad but, thats how it is. Anyhow, I need some new pickup lines from you guys. I thought to myself, self, where could you get some new ones ?, why, from the Bass Resource guys. I am not very bright you know. My best one is " You is prettier than a new set of snow tars !!!! and they just ignore me. So have at it you bunch of smooth talking stud puppies !!!

Good old US Postal Service.
Two things LBH. You are a nice guy and you are right, I should send them a little something for their trouble and will. Next thing, the box was addressed to Reel Mech and you know his address. How in the he** did it get to NJ and that particular house? I mean, duh !!! The guy that called was cool. He said his wife just grabbed the package off the porch without looking at it and thought it was for him. My name, address and phone no. were inside. He asked me to send a bottle of Chivas Regal next time, but, I probably would not get that back, lol.

Spinnerbait Nay-sayers
Spinnerbaits are good. Spinnerbaits thrown around wood is real good. I love them. It seems certain places the fish bite better on them than others. If you are fishing tidal rivers and creeks with a lot of shad in the water or for smallmouth on a river, they are hard to beat. Its one of my favorite baits.

Line stretch is not a evil thing
Basspro48, do you use braid for the rivers and smallies ?, just curious. Nice car in the Avatar by the way.

The absolut worst ever
I know you fish for mostly green bass Muddy my friend so, just rig them like you do a t-rigged worm. A 3/0 or 4/0 EWG hook does the trick, skin hooked, with the bullet wt of your choice. Please give them another chance. They certainly catch fish. Dam* college kids, I swear. ;D P.S.- I am glad you didn't stay away long. You are a institution in here. I know there is a joke in there somewhere, your up to bat Avid and LBH,lol. ;D
