  1. Shoot dude, what a deal. If nothing else you have a spare if you break one. I am going to check out my local Wally World to see if they have any. I would buy some for some kids I know. Ghhessshhh, now I have to go to Wally World, and I don't do Wally World, lol.
  2. I would say some of the guys in here are good at sharpening hooks but, for me, nada, when it is dull it goes in the trash and another fresh one is put on. They are not that expensive that I am going to risk losing a fish over one of my butcher jobs on a hook.
  3. They were ok in a pinch but, they were not consistant. Some were sharp, some were not. Also, some had the eyes that were gaped and caught your line. They are not worth buying again to me. I use Gammys and just bought a some X Points to try.
  4. I don't know how big you are and that would certainly help so here goes anyway---5lbs 4ozs.
  5. Troutfisher, First of all you have to realize that the world is run by politics and image. You have to have a wedge to move these people into action. I would first contact your state senator via letter and or make a appointment at his local satellite office. I would wait for a response from him. Explain to him the importance that the local lake had for the youth and families in your town. Next, go to your town council meetings with your parents and express your ideas to bring the lake back and why. Be sure to contact your local newspaper to make them aware of your efforts. I think a combination of these things will get the big political dogs on the move. They love the political limelight and they like to show that they are family and youth orientated. I feel a combination of high profile recognition, contacting the right people and putting your efforts into a wide view for the media to profile would get the ball rolling. Its all about politics my friend, the big cats always kiss the babys. Hopefully your state senator and delegates can find some federal funding to help your town.
  6. Wow, I will bet that the new pop gun lure launcher whobobbie thing he endorses loaded with Power Pro would shoot a gitzit about two zip codes away. ;D
  7. Hey RW, did you ever try a Tiny Torpedo on the smallies down there? We use them late in the evenings here just before dark and they are killers. Just curious.
  8. Which way is up? True or False?
  9. Team Allstar 6' 10" MH. This is a great rod for jigging and is great for worming and spinnerbaiting as well. I like a rod that fits more than one application and this one fits the bill nicely.
  10. Zara Spook, Buzz baits, Torpedoes, Rico, floating worms.
  11. Thats fantastic. I can only imagine. I know one thing. You would see me up on a desk bent over with my pants around my knees pointing to my white butt to some of the Docs and the nursing director that try to make everyones life miserable where I work. ;D
  12. Chalk one up for us old coots. I might have to try that myself, ;D
  13. I use rattles all the time. Why? Who knows, I just feel better doing it. I am a firm believer in getting more bites by putting rattles in all my tubes, all the time. For smallies and green ones. Am I doing the right thing?, who knows but, my tubes always have a rattle inserted.
  14. I peg for heavy grass and wood, other than that I don't.
  15. I don't want to get into the argument of braid vs mono in this post. That is a old one. We all use what we feel comfortable using. To each his own I say. I don't like braid or flouro and thats beside the point. Now to the point. I think some line stretch in some applications can be a good thing. In close quarters flipping in my opinion line stretch can afford you some insurance of not tearing the lip of a bass and pulling the hook out. Another application is when I am smallie fishing with 6 or 8 pound test, or even for big green bass with light line, some stretch can be a plus. Long casting or deep water fishing is another story. I want less stretch for a good hook set. It seems using stretchy line has become a sin over the last few years. I feel it has has its place in fishing. Everyone says you cannot feel the bite with stretchy line, I beg to differ. How much stretch can there be when you are not really applying any pressure while hopping a jig or a tube? I don't have any problems translating what is going on with the other end of my line using a stretchy line. What say you my friends?
  16. :)Avid, my job consist of being focused and on a dead run 12-14 hours a day, fours day a week. The Docs I am around don't allow smiling it seems. I allow myself the luxury of being goofy when I am not on shift. I tell you this, when someone writes something in here I see the potential for a one liner coming I look forward to you and Muddies view and wait for your combination Mark Twain-Groucho Marx one liners !!!
  17. Doggone you LBH. I am fifty years old. I don't need to be sitting here getting all watery eyed. That was one of the nicest stories I have ever heard. Thanks. Boy, if the world could only get into that frame of mind a lot of problems could be solved. Again, thanks.
  18. I bought one. There is a beach on a lake near Frostburg State College and all the local college girls go there to swim. Works well. ;D ;D ;D
  19. You got line rapped up in your trolling motor. Wow, I never did that before. ;D
  20. I am typing on this keyboard using my, opppps, I better not say that. ;D
  21. OK, It was funny. Now get the joke over with already. Its March already!!!! I am looking out the window watching it snow and it is 18 degrees out. Last week for a few days I could step outside in just my scrubs at work and have the warm sun in my face. What gives? Its time to catch some fish for goodness sakes. This cold weather gives me " shrinkage ". ;D
  22. I am not a big crankin guy but, a DD22 has always put fish in the boat for me as well over the years when they are deep and want a crank. I use them in the shad color and also have some older ones in the rainbow trout color. Although they are not the most comfortable lure to fish because of the resistance when you reel them, they work.
  23. I keep one of those plastic snap lid Folgers Coffee cans in my boat just for this reason. If I catch a wad of line or need to dispose of some in my boat thats where it goes.
  24. So thats what my girlfriend means when she says " Booyah ". :-/
