Went to LA for business last Thursday and decided to stay through Sunday for Bass o Rama at Anglers Marine in So Cal. Great show! Loaded up on Basstrix, swimbaits, and picked up a Dobyns/ Mike Long Swim Bait rod. I love that thing. Here's a couple pics from the show.... Ish Monroe. Genuinely nice guy, looking forward to fishing with him soon. He rolled up in his H2 with 30" wheels. ;D Mike Long. Had a great discussion with him on swimbaits, very approachable guy and has no problem telling you how to rig swimbaits in ways that owrk for him. Very impressed with him. This one's for kicks. Went to dinner at Mr Chow in Beverly Hills with some friends Saturday night. Ran into another friend that happened to be there with Paris Hilton. It's funny how the energy in the whole place changed when she walked in.

I've only been able to use mine once. with the hop up parts it works like a dream. THe ONLY complaint I have is the wobble in the the handle. The reel is light, casts a country mile and quiet. I can easily cast out the entire line with a 3/4 oz lure on this thing!

My HLC just came in. Absolutely without a doubt my favorite reel from ALL the reels that I have. I'm ordering an EverGreen Amazon Flip for that reel. Sorry for the added expenditures buddy.

Big Bait Special. I'd like to see one in person before buying, I've heard mixed reviews on that reel.

I used my rod with braid in brazil, 65 lb Sufix on a Daiwa Sol with the drag locked down. I threw small cranks and Zara Spooks with my rod and of ALL the rods I took, my guide was most impressed with the Carrot Stick. This is the same guide that has worked with Jimmy Houston, Kevin Van Dam, and Johnny Morris just to name a few.
