  1. First of all, If I get another boat it will be a full size bass boat So I don't have to worry about that. but do you really think the 40 would push at the same speed? I get what your trying to say but it's hard for me to wrap my mind around how it would be possible for a higher thrust motor to not be any faster than a lower thrust one. I will look around to see what I can find. if the motor will drain the battery quick and be the same speed u suppose its not worth it to get a bigger one
  2. I fish a small lake, the motor supposedly draws 50 amps per hour on full speed. My battery is 125 amps so it should give me 2.5 hours on full throttle, which is plenty will do, thanks
  3. The 55 will push through weeds, choppy water, and carry weight better right? EDIT, I couldn't find what you were talking about. Do you think you could try to explain it in simple terms for people like me
  4. What battery would everyone recommend, I need a 12 V Deep cycle marine battery, not sure on amps or anything. If anyone has input please help.
  5. Ok, I will check it out. How fast do you think you can go with it?
  6. Thank you, I don't have a fish finder so it shouldn't be a problem! I appreciate your input. Thank you for the advice. How excactly does the digital maximizer work? it seems like something else to go wrong but if it works for you I might try it.
  7. Sounds good, would you recommend the C2 or the C2 Max. Is the max worth the extra money? Thanks
  8. I have a cheap ~$400~ or so canoe with a trolling motor mount in the back. I am thinking towards a Minn Kota Endura C2 or Endura C2 Max (supposed to be less power draw) My boat is rated to 40 lb thrust, but I would feel comfortable going up to 55 lb. Boat weighs 90 or so lbs and with people and gear altogether (boat weight included) weighs 500 pounds or so. (not counting battery weight) Would the 55 offer more power/ speed? Would it be worth spending the extra money or would the power difference be negligible. from a 40 or even 30)Thanks
  9. thanks! I'm not sure what size they are, I will need to compare them at a store somewhere. I replaced them once and will do so again as they are getting bent. VMC round bend is what I will use.
  10. go for it! that tank is plenty big for 2 or three of those suckers! I want a pic when you're done
  11. that sucks man, for me I can easily just go buy another, too bad they don't make that color spook. Maybe check eBay as some suggested??
  12. this... OR make sure you have backing behind the braid so it doesn't slip.
  13. i know how you feel, I lost a (new) Husky Jerk perch jerkbait the other day
  14. pretty sure the rod had something to do with it. I had a 6 6 M Mod. action instead of my usual 7' MF rod. I miss a lot less fish on the 7 footer. (Or al least it seems that way) Thanks for the advice
  15. I think the term " joke" isn't in some peoples vocabulary out come the scissors
  16. hooks are very sharp. if I remember right, I replaced them when I got them. They are kind of bent from snags now so I will replace them in the near future with VMC round bend hooks. I just need to figure out what size I need to get that's what I'm hearing. I will try that. One of my bass last night hit when the lure was just sitting on the water I was distracted by the noisy loons behind me. I turned back around and gave the lure another pop and there was no splash, just weight so I set the hook easier said than done lol pretty dang good for topwater Perhaps! Im pretty sure some of them were misses. Also some were like 20" hammer handle pike so I could do without stinky pike slime all over the canoe. ( it smells for a while) Now if a fish misses it/ or I set to early, is there still a chance at that same fish? What could I do to possibly make him hit again?? Thanks for the help!
  17. I have a clearance bin popper from a no name brand in a color I would say is Tennessee Shad. I fished from my canoe this evening and in less than an hour, I had 6-7 strikes/blowups and 4 boaters. What can I do to improve hookups with my lure? Hooks are quite sharp btw..., Thanks!
  18. just saw this. I was partly right! Gotta love Browning...
  19. browning A5 shotgun? And you miss a lot of birds when you empty your mag at the sky...? lol I literally spend 5 minutes staring at my screen trying to figure out what you meant. Finally got it though
  20. bass and bluegill thrive together when in the same body of water. I don't think you need to remove them. that would be a good aquarium fish. Never seen one with that coloring
  21. I bought a veritas 2.0 7'MF casting and I didn't realize it was micro guide. They're okay, just not the miracle fishing product people make them to be. They also get clogged with weeds faster, probably NOT the best for a froggin' stick.
  22. I think you should read @slonezppost again. I've caught bass when people were jumping in the water and splashing around. (I was there first so I wouldn't move)
  23. so true! Bass act on Instinct not thought. They don't have the logical part of the brain that allows descision making. Their thought process is basically 1. See a shad 2. want a shad 3. chase the shad 4. kill the shad 5. eat the shad. it's all instinct. So no, I don't think sonar would bother them.
