  1. I have learned form experience to NEVER wear flip flops when bank fishing in Florida. I get bit by fire ants every time if I don't wear shoes.
  2. I've caught the same 5 pounder twice in under 10 minutes one morning. I broke off on a popper and caught the same exact fish on a spook 3 casts later with the popper still hooked to the underside of the fish.
  3. this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is what i need
  4. By slippage do you mean the knot failing? In my case it's the knot itself sliding down the arm of the spinnerbait. Is this normal, and could I tie something where the wire bends to prevent it?
  5. I'll try both double palomar and uni. With the improved clinch the knot slips down the arm and tangles with the blades on the cast. Double palomar should solve any slippage. Thanks guys
  6. I've recently been fishing spinnerbaits on straight braid, and was wondering what's the best knot to tie. An improved clinch knot slips on the arm and causes a tangled mess and a palomar is difficult to tie on larger lures. I know there are a bunch of knots I could look into but i want to know what you guys think
  7. I know where I'm going next saturday
  8. I agree with you 110%. Quality doesn't necessarily have to be expensive though.
  9. That net costs more than my current setup
  10. Those are some nice fish, what springs are you fishing? It look like something I wanna check out
  11. In florida there's a bunch of laws to do with passing on water and light requirements during foggy and predawn/duck conditions
  12. I'd say the guy is an idiot for trying to pass you that close to start with
  13. That's a chunk, nice catch. There are many more of those down the line
  14. What type of watercraft was he operating?
  15. IMO topwater is as fun as fishing gets and I've only caught a few topwater fish
  16. this should help https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6568457?tstart=0 solution #2, get an android
  17. X2. That rig works great in retention ponds, watermelon red is a good color IMO
  18. Welcome to the forums
  19. I'm even newer to bass fishing and my experience is NOW-WHERE near my knowledge. I know how rig and fish pretty much every lure but have probably actually fished only half of them. I also caught my first topwater fish on the 2nd cast this year
  20. Actaully I find it quite amusing
  21. I think you described it in pretty much the darkest way possible
  22. I can imagine how steep of a learning curve it would be if people didn't do research and went by trail and error. I think for most of us fishing goes beyond just a hobby or something we do for fun, it's a passion and love that lasts for a lifetime.
