Hooking Yourself
Call me a chicken **** but I have 3 grippers one boga grip style for boat, one 9" plastic gripper for kayak and one 6" rapala gripper when I walk around bank fishing. If this happened to me (knock on wood) my wife would stop me fishing for good. Another reminder stop pulling snag lure especially with mono or copolymer line, those things with come straight at you like torpedoed.

Fish grippers on bass?
I have read too many horror stories of fisherman got hook while trying to lip bass with bare hand but very rarely to none that fish killed from gripper. Anyone wanna make a poll?

Stuck in a Rut
I trend to not fishing the same lure over and over. I will change lure or plastic or technique to something new or old but hardly catch anything for me.

Should I get the Curado 70 or Scorpion 70
Get scorpion that black and red accent is so d**n beautiful.

Three lure choices
Very simple any 4/0, 5/0 ewg hook should work for Zoom supersalt Fluke. I use mainly 3/0 twist lock hook for all my Fluke type lure. Be very carefully with Fluke or even Senko since you are moving a lot when you are in kayak, you might not be able to feel the bite right away and end up with gutted hook (I got two myself when skip Fluke under tree?)

When is Enough, Enough?
I thought of that too when I have close to 100 bags of different type of plastic, you know what I did? buy even more bags. My wife just caught me bought another casting rod, so I told her I NEED this for my kayak setup so I don't loose other.

Owner Twistlock hooks
3/0 twist lock for almost everything from Fluke/Senko and Fat Ika and small swimbait. add: here is a quote from tackle warehouse about owner twist lock light hook "Designed by bass fishing professional and world-famous lure designer, Gary Yamamoto, the Owner TwistLock Light Hook was created for rigging Senko-style baits and other thinner profile soft plastics" I think I've read somewhere he recommended 3/0 for 5" Senko.

Three lure choices
How about Fluke? You can fish this kind of top water, between water column and bottoms contact weighted or weightless. I'm new to kayak as well and Fluke is my main lure. I can fish it fast like moving bait or slow under trees and very good along bottom weed line. Another good bottom contact would be weighted Texas rigged worm. And if you can start early or wait until sun down don't forget any top water anything would be fine.

Who's selling the Whopper Plopper 110?
I don't think you need any more noisy on WP110, it is pretty d**n noisy by itself, lol. I have to cast a lot further from target or toss up as close to shore line as much as possible, the splash from this thing is huge and might scare the fish away. All the fish I caught when slow retrieve except one bullhead catfish. I like the 90 one for this quiet approach.

Recovery from massive kills
I just found out that in 2009 there were massive fish kills in my home Lake including Bass, crappies, catfish and Silver Shad around 14 tons. The were many giant bass over 10lbs accounted for. That might be an answer of the myth about giant bass / bass heaven lake in SoCal where nowadays it is tougher to fish than before. my question how long would it take for bass to recover to it glory in term of quantity and quality.

summer time always a bad time for me to catch any bass. I'm still struggling fishing deep water in my Jon boat, let alone kayak. I take my boat out less than 10 times a year. I don't know how to read cover, let alone structure. I might have to go back to lake Perris and hire professional guide to teach me these things.

Bubble gum senkos
X3 here, I tried it a few times but do not have confidence in that color at all. I still have both Senko and trick worm in those color pretty much new. And please do not mix that blaze orange with other light color lure, it breeds like crazy.

That's suck, I don't think we have to buy stamp for trout or any other freshwater fish beside saltwater or second rod. My friend just went up north in sierra 2-3 weeks ago (trout season started in May, I believe) and got me a few frozen trouts.

Can anyone point me to a video in how to change gears in my Daiwa Alphas?
I wish I knew this site years ago. I opened up my Abu spinning reel for the first time to clean end up lost one of the small spring, now that reel can back spin freely without lock.

Anyone ever try a....
I did once caught one bass not too long ago. I use owner ultra head not reg shakey head. The only thing is body of hula grub pretty shot so you might have to get finesses shakey head type.

Fishing Shoes
There are some hybrids water/hiking shoe, but they seem to be bulkier and heavier than tennis shoe. I normally wear crocs when bank fishing but sand and small rock can get into it. Another that I wear sometime is boat shoe but I don't think shoe sole gonna last long on dirt road and rocky beach. I always walk into shallow water and stay there for awhile where I have more room to cast. I also have two water shoe that I only wear when I'm on kayak. These shoe is very soft and light weight but the sole is very thin and not suitable to walk on street, and yes there are plenty of hole where sand can get into it.
