  1. I don't know about any money maker of those utubers but I hope they can still make money and continue of their video content. Everyone has the right to become u-tubers and earn money. I enjoy a lot of video produce by these kids. Some ppl think they are idiots and have nothing else to do, but to produce one video, invest in those GoPro, drone, take time to edit their clips, that is call a work of their own. I watch their video for entertainment and education, I'm not that naive to just buy any product their advertise. Sometime I even thinking of support their channel to keep them going. There I said it, btw I like Lake Fork Guy but not the young kid that keep screaming.
  2. I'm in private lake and my long time fishing buddy can only fish today so we went out. I don't know it him or I, we never had a good success fishing together, and again today prove it right. We caught nothing, he got two bite but didn't get hook up. There were a lot of water skier on the water which was also suck for us small jon boat. Anyway it was a fun day for us especially for me since I've been a lone wolf for quite some time.
  3. Fun fishing with dad can't beat that.
  4. Which reel and braid brand? I have 30lbs j-braid 8 strands braid(super soft) on my 50e, and I have no problem whatsoever. But before, this same braid was on Daiwa Alphas SV105, and I had the digging issue many time while casting. I conclude the problem was super free spool and strong whip cast that cause the problem.
  5. Only loop knot I tie is Rapala Loop knot. I learnt that years ago from rapala package, I believe. These day most of the lure that require loop knot come with spit ring so eliminate the need of loop knot. Or if I use speed clip also I don't need to tie loop knot just straight trilene knot on the clip or spit ring.
  6. Good joband congrat, finally you get thing done. Now you are hook for life.
  7. U r w e l c o m e, and enjoy yr new rod. I like tatula a lot way better than my fav crucial drop shot rod but those broken tip story prevent me to buy another one. In fact I have one ready in the shopping cart and almost pull trigger so many times.
  8. Yup mine bought from Amazon as well.
  9. They will have you write down date of purchase and where that about it. Your tip can be broke off by hook set. I like this rod a lot but the tip is so fragile. I think you have to be there before 2 or 3 PM in order to get a new rod while you are waiting.
  10. Good job and congrats, sound like fun. About that of your tatula casting rod is it reg tatula or tatula XT? Anyway just bring that rod to Daiwa in Cerritos Orange County, mostly they will change new rod for you right there. Actually I've done it with my MH/F 6'10" tatula as well.
  11. I think it is the same as other predators fish in your canals. To me compare to bass snakehead will eat even more variety with or without mercury, they eat every d**n thing that fit in it mounts, bugs, Lizard, rats anything.
  12. You got a lot of good info on lure there. Senko is fool proof, fluke is also good (one of my favorite lure) and can fish many ways, spinnerbait is also good for all around. For color I would go with natural color or bait fish color in your area watermelon green or pumpkin green is a good start. Medium power, Fast action rod is good for all around pair with 2500 size (shimano) or equivalent. For line I would go with Mono or Copolymer no bigger than 10lbs.
  13. Yes you can but spinning would be better. With casting reel instead of learning how to fish with lures, plastic etc. then you have to learn how to cast too, that is too many to learn at once and you might give up all together. Spinning reel would be a lot easier for you so you can pay all attention to how to catch a fish. Don't get me wrong about spinning reel, every one use this kind of reel even pro. I have three myself.
  14. Dang, he is better than me. I only caught two baby crappies a long long time ago.
  15. Yup slip on wet grass luckily the fish is still there
  16. Congrat, Nice fish.
  17. I don't have GoPro but a knockoff one. Used it once or twice on fishing but I have a mount on my motorcycle. I plan to mount that also on kayak so I don't have to pull my phone out to take a picture.
  18. Delaware Valley Tackle, he the one replied to your post. He is our site sponsor and always help out other as well.
  19. Soon enough this site will become Troutresource.com ? just saying.
  20. Yeah the wife, I remember that. Happened to me as well. I set her up with one of my baitcaster with all tension set for her to not get a backlash. She said with very proud voice "see it isn't that difficult at all" then the day progress some how she grabbed my 50e and cast out. She handed me the reel with very beautiful smile and a big backlash on my reel.
  21. @toni63your point is very well put, I like yours better than mine?. Any way I have total of 3 grippers. One is metal one like boca grip which I use mainly for catfish. Second is 9" plastic gripper which I bought when I plan for strippers and big bass trip at diamond valley where I can sefely grip and release it without risking my finger with those treble hook. And Last my 6" plastic grip where i use mainly to just weight fish and will be used in kayak. I even have one of those grip with small nail poke into fish mouth to hold it more firmly but I don't use that anymore since I found it too cruel.
  22. Have you had red snapper? It similar to that white soft and very mild taste. The best way to cook is steam the whole fish skin and head intact of course ?(Asian way) in soy source or lemon juice.
  23. I thought that only happened with me, now I don't feel bad anymore lol.
  24. So what different holding a fish with thumb and plastic gripper in vertical position? why don't you show us a proper way of using gripper for bass instead of bashing everyone. May be because you catch too many giants so you don't care anymore, but to some of us it is an excitement and to weight and taking picture to be a memorable not tourney wanna be. Every once awhile I will open album and I can tell story of every fish I caught.
  25. and it pretty good eating fish too. I wish I can fish in Florida, there are many kind of fish I like over there. Clown night is my favorite. Caught a few of those myself. Never caught barramundi myself but ate a lot of those. Also King Mackerel is fun to catch and good eating fish. The first fish is look so pretty and tasty.
