Anybody Ever Get Caught Without Their License?
One of my fishing friend told me this story, he was fishing at some local lake, he caught pretty good size bass, a guy walked by and offer to take his picture with the bass, after said and done the guy show him a badge and asked for his license. BTW, I've been ask twices this year even though I fish a private lake (state fishing required).

New old stock Curado E
I paid on chornarch 50e new more than curado 70HG but that what I like. If 200 series I'd rather get 200i for 140 instead of 200e at 190. But I see 200e sold up to 200 in the meantime 200i used worth only 100. Go figure.

Line Breaking - Braid/FC - How to stop from happening
How about straight braid no leader for jerk bait? I don't use any leader for all my moving bait to avoid those possibility of second knot.

Stolen Fish: Poor Etiquette
If it is other ppl I don't know I would call poor etiquette, but if he is my fishing buddy I would glad to call him over to fish next to me or even cast over my line. What a fishing buddy for, fish together have fun together or sometime complete each other but that all about fun.

Which "SV" is for me.
If I'm gonna buy another daiwa that would be alphas sv 105. I love the size and weight of this reel. The only problem is line capacity but that what you got with sv spool. I like tatula CT but it is just a bit too big for my hand, and that goes with sv 103 zillion which the same platform with CT?

broke my baitcaster :(
Even it stay right now, all you can do is cast and hope not to get any fish to bite your lure otherwise you are screwed big time. I don't think epoxy or even JB weld would hold up against the force when you fight with fish.

It happens to the best of us
Yeah that is the way everyone with baitcaster should learn to deal with backlash, but there are times when this method is not working. I got one last year when bomb cast my lure and hit the tree right above another one recently when my lure stuck on wire fence without me knowing it and result was I have to cut my line plus a broken rod tip.

Z-Man Elaztech + Jig Skirt Compatibility ?
I leave zman diesel on chatter bait and turbo craw on jig for weeks and don't see any problem.

cheap bullet weight question?
Normally it would happen with smaller size one like 3/16 down on the point end. I use just whatever hook nearby to enlarge the hole.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
I went out last night to fish a little bit with my wife also. I saw a lot of activities, boiling on surface, not sure if it bass or carp. I did not have any top water with me, I'll try again tomorrow night with all kind of top water lure I have lol. BTW, I missed a hook set on one bass that bite my missile bait D stroyer on 3/0 weighted hook, this is second time I miss hook set at night, not really sure why?. May be I set hook too fast or too slow, but I always make sure I feel the fish on the line before setting the hook.

Daiwa Tatula Casting Rod
I also got 6'10 MH/F, actually this is my replacement from the first one that got a broken tip. To me this 6'10 Tatula is all the soft size for 3/8oz jig with big trailer. I like the sensitive and very light weight of the rod even better than my favorite Shimano crucial 6'8 M/F. I use this rod for mostly bottom contact.

Storing Fishing Gear in a Car?
I was plan to leave my 2 pieces spare rod in trunk of my car 24/7 becuz I fish almost everyday but decided against it. The California hot sun can be brutal. I do leave a few setup on my front seat a few days a time but I make sure to leave window down a little bit.

Tatula CT Type R 50th
I don't think OP concerned about max drag of his daiwa Ct 50th anniversary, but it is about spec that all CT reel got 13.2 lb but his box stated 11lb max drag which confused him. i got daiwa catalog 2016-2017, I don't there is spec for 50th anniversary version but will look tonight.

I'm hurt, really hurt.
Thanks guys for all the kind word, I'm not giving all up that for sure. Came back from work, slept a couple hours and went back there again. Caught one on missile bait, not a giant as I hope but good enough to give me back my hope.

I can see the fish mouth is bigger than your fist and that is a really good size fish for sure.

I'm hurt, really hurt.
I went fishing today where I caught that good size fish last time. This time I had 3/8 oz jig with Yamamoto flapping hog Black/blue color and another rod with Senko. First of, after about an hour I got first bite on Senko with one of that mustad superlock plus hook 3/0. Fight him a little bit until he pull the line against weed underwater and lost him. Switch to black blue jig, with in 30 mins on so hook on another fish, she jump and hook come un-done. From 15-20 feet away I can tell that she is a giant, bigger than any fish I caught. I was hurt so bad. Stay there for a few more casts and give up and walked home with sick in my stomach. I kind of know my problem, I didn't not set hook hard enough combine with quite a soft tip rod(daiwa tatula 6'10 MH/F).

2006 Highlander Towing?
I wouldn't do it, I'm still regretting trashing my Toyota Venza just towing my 15' Jonboat. The Venza doesn't have any towing package but from spec it can tow up to 1500lbs. That is why I bought this jonboat (total weight with trailer ~1200lbs). Now my Venza always has a problem when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear (automatic). I have a machanic checked on it and he said he can't really do nothing since he isn't sure what part to fix in transmission. Now I got Toyota Tundra with towing package just for this job only.

9-10 feet kayak for beginner?
Thanks all. no I have not tried any kayaks whatsoever, in fact (don't laugh) at one point I had plan for a kayak on lake Perris so I bought inflatable kayak with everything ready to go but Iwasnt brave as I thought I was so end up I still have brand new inflatable kayak in my garage lol. I talked to a couple guys I saw on the lake with Malibu kayak stealth9 I believe, and they all like it a lot, not fast but stable enough and they can stand on it no problem. My wife's coworker said he got a kayak and he would loan me to see if I really like kayaking, the problem is his kayak is not fishing kayak and from what he said It might be a lot longer (more than 12') than what I want.

9-10 feet kayak for beginner?
What do you guy think about 10' kayak for small lake? It is narrow but pretty long lake so they separate in 3 zones. 1. No wake zone 2. 35mph zone mostly for water ski and all boaters. 3. May be no speed limit for slalom course and ski jump. I plan to use kayak on all 3 zones but mostly 1 and 3. The kayak in my considered is Malibu kayak Mini X 9'3. The reason, it is easier to carry around in my truck bed and easy to store when not in use. if anyone wanna recommend other kayak please feel free to crime in.

Rod or reel??
Rod first, reel later (if you already have exceptable setup) if you have two rod ex. M and MH you can fish each rod with different lure with one reel. Two reel wouldn't do you any good since you can only use one reel at time. But all this is also depend on what kind of rod and reel you have too. They both equally matter in fishing.
