  1. Thanks again, I'll try that next time since I happened to have plenty of 1/8 oz jig head and Zman 3" grub. I know there is crappie in this lake but I have not caught one yet.
  2. Thanks @RichPenNY I do have Scotty rod holder on my kayak which I plan to do as you suggested. Lay it across of kayak in front of me not to one side. I also do stop and go type when trolling but not success yet.
  3. I trend to think about other fish when bass bite get so slow. My buddy and I will do some drifting for catfish or trolling for stripers for a change. I don't mind fishing for crappies if I know how to find them.
  4. Thanks, that is a very good idea. I'll keep that in mind next time I shop for the net. I'm so new at kayak fishing, gotta find some local kayak group so I can learn how to fish from them.
  5. That sound interesting since I have some floating rapala and savage 3D bluegill. I might really have to buy a second rod stamp so I can soak some plastic or leaving jerkbait behind while fishing other rod. CO is pretty cheap, In CA it would cost 14 bucks for second rod stamp on top of 45 bucks I already paid for license and if I ever wanna fish saltwater then I'd have to buy another stamp for it, but I might get it after all.
  6. In ca, you allow to only have one rod in the water per fishing license unless you buy a second rod stamp. Seem like everyone recommend deep driving crank. How fast do I have to go? Shad rap might work for me too but it won't get that deep. Any plastic swimbait would work for stop and go type?
  7. Thanks both but im not too sure if Carolina or Texas rig weight/weightless would work while moving from spot to spot, it might get snag or moving too fast. I would try to soak second rod while fishing but I did not buy second rod stamp. Anyway my plan for trolling when I go kayaking/boating with my wife around my lake.
  8. What lures normally you guys use for trolling behind kayak. I tried chatterbait and Keitech swing impact on 1/4 oz hook with no luck. Amyone wanna give me some tip and trick?
  9. This ^^^. Guilty as charge. I lost too many fish plus lures from not re-tie on snap especially when I fish around tree and brushes.
  10. I dip my in JJ magic all the time. The thing is you cannot let it sit for too long otherwise it would melt. Another note the dye whatever color doesn't seem to stay on Elaztech for too long.
  11. I got both, rubber net for the boat and regular net (rope) to kayak due to it smaller size and way lighter weight. I'm gonna upgrade to rubber net later on when I find a good size one with short handle and not too expensive.
  12. Now you are hooked not that fish, hahaha
  13. I normally use snap for all hard plastic bait from top water to jerkbait to chatterbait, but will tie directly to hook for all type of plastic include jig and shakey head.
  14. Great time ??
  15. I would like to see lures with single hook too, I hate treble hooks. It just plain to unhook, dangerous to human and the fish. In fact, I think I might just change all my top water lures to single hook if I can find a suitable one(any recommendation?) other lure like jerkbait crankbait and lipless changing hook might compromise on action of the lure itself. Fish Grip Jr. If you mean the 6" one, I don't think you would like it that much as 9" one. I used to have 6" one in my kayak but now change to 9" one instead. I use 6" one when bank fishing or to weight my fish.
  16. Good time indeed. I wish I had those kind of smack talk around the house. I bought my wife, my nephew and my bro in law fishing licenses, and they only out fishing a few times if not once. All I hear from my bro in law is " there is no fish in this lake" becuz I don't bring any fish home. They are all catfish type of people and would keep every d**n fish they caught. d**n Asian, huh?
  17. You are a brave man, I won't be near that lake if I know there is even one tiny gator in there.
  18. Let get back to our topic of catch show case, would ya? It's been pretty d**n hot here in Canyon Lake CA. I think the highest reach 115 and still stay hot during the night. The worth part is my home AC went south and the guy won't be able to come out to fix it until Tuesday, that is SUCK. My friend manage to catch 3, two on walking dog and last on jerkbait (LC pointer) edit video added
  19. why sad? It just another way of fishing. If they only want live bait and if you don't mind then give it to them. I met a guy on tube, he always look for crawdad first to take with him why fishing other lure/plastic. He claimed the biggest catch for him alway from live crawdad. i might try that sometime when out doing some catfish fishing with my wife.
  20. I use them, I don't use them doesn't really matter, sometime I use them and get no bite or don't use them but get pretty good bite. It the thing you cannot really prove. There are a myth about cig smell after you smoke and touch the plastic as well that cannot be prove since I've even heard of people using cig-butt to catch fish. BTW, I have mega strike, mayhem, just magic and one of those green garlic liquid bottle.

I refuse to touch live worm.eww
  22. My kayak is not high end one, but come with yak attack rail installed the bad part it is plastic type not aluminum. I recommend to get aluminum one and at least 12" long unless you plan to install only one accessory. Make sure to install where is out of your paddle range. Yak attack is good you can find all type of accessories mount, but it is not cheap. As of now I only have Scotty rod holder install with mighty mount, I plan to use that for trolling and lay down fishing rod while fish other rod.
  23. Finally a good day for me and my long time fishing buddy. We hardly had any success together as fishing partner since last year, it either him or me(mostly him) or both got skunked. We started around 5:30AM, he caught one fish and lost one on his walking dog(R2S), I got two blow up on my frog but no fish. Then we both switched to chatterbait and both caught a few more bass, including double(first ever for us). I end up caught another big catfish also with chatterbait. Good to have fishing buddy even once in awhile.
  24. Good time man really good time.
  25. Good job and very nice fish.
