Will my car battery charger work for trolling motor battery?
Very good info here, thanks everyone especially @Way2slow. i also have that blue charger posted in this thread. I normally charge same day after using the boat, the battery only used for trolling motor, Fish finder. The battery is 12v deep circle marine battery. I'm not sure if this the right way to charge battery if anyone could tell me or direct me to the right way. I set the amp to 15amp, the cell automatic to std. I don't leave charger on all the time. If the boat been parked for too long(winter months), I will top off the night before trip. When do I need 3amp mode? should I change to gel cell or leave it at std cell? Thanks in advance.

JDM Finesse Casting Setup
With 1/4oz weight plus finesse worm you don't really need anything special. I do that all day with my crucial M/F and any of my biatcasting reel.

JDM Finesse Casting Setup
How light is your finesse stuff? For dropshot 3/16oz weight plus plastic and lure 1/4 oz weight, scorpion 70/71 should handle that just fine. I can cast 1/4 oz Husky Jerk08 on curado70 (#30 braid) further than daiwa SV105 #6 hybrid. Now if you go below that let say 1/8 oz lure. I'm not brave enough to use curado70 but SV105 can handle that weight with no worry.

Post a photo a day!
We can use that kind of water here in California.

Looking for reel under 170 USD for Frogging and other grass things
You can do a lot better than 140 on Daiwa CT type R everywhere else.

Love and Hate Rocks
Why Carolina rig on rock when you can go streght to drop shot rig? That way you have just your weight lay on top off rocks not your braid.

Anyone fishing during the eclipse?
Went out there today, it was pretty slow and I had to end my trip a little early than I want once I figured I forgot my fishing license and I was fishing main lake.

A two-fer ...almost
But I have not got one yet?. I had follow a few time but never double.

New curado handle/spool issue
Return the reel? New curado doesn't need to turn the drag star a lot like old system.

Unconfident baits
Thxs, I like this and will remember to try jig next time around. Chatterbait, I also started fishing this lure last year around September and got only two bites out of it, told my friend to use it the next day he caught a very good size bass 5-6lb and it become his favorite lure. I got pretty good luck with chatterbait this year since I fish it more and more especially when I'm on kayak. I fish it slow retrieve and try to connect to bottom as much as I can. I also got a pretty good bite when chatterbait bump onto something and suddenly change action. The last few days I caught one over 3lbs and another believe to be 4.5 lbs cast it past weed line and try to hop it on top of the weed.

Jon Boat conversation.
This is not so fancy 14' Jon boat with plywood deck. No I did not build the whole thing myself. I bought this Jon boat from a guy with pretty good wood working skill. The only thing I would change on this set up is the front seat which is too big and leave very little room to walk.

Essential gear for kayak fishing
This ^^^, quite important but I don't see many use them. I already have an orange flag and try to figure where is the best place to install them.

Bad Bass fishing in California?
Where in CA? Ca is huge There are some good bass lakes and also pretty bad city park lake. I'm in private lake but still envy some of you guys from farm pond hoping where you can get quite abit of quality and a d**n good number. I can see how bad bass fishing in CA especially for bank fisherman here.

Fishing Report: It's Hot Outside
SoCal will get pretty mild weather for next week especially where I live will be below 90 day time and down to 60 night time. I took opportunity of overcast forecaster last few days and went out bank fishing which turn out not that bad caught 2 pretty good size ones. Can't wait until September when big bass start moving back in.

gearing for kayak
I hardly fish slow presentation this year especially when I'm on kayak. I know I might not get as many bites. I'm also learning a lot of slow moving bait this year and gain more and more confident like Jerkbait Fluke and chatterbait. Next year I plan for a little faster moving like lipless, shallow crank and small swimbait.
-
How often do y'all switch baits?
I don't change enough I guess, since sometime I wonder if I'd get a better bite with that lure on those plastic. I try at least to cover top water, between water column and bottom contact. BTW, I'm in learning mode so I try to stick what I have plan on.

gearing for kayak
Lure box is my hardbait box like top water, jerkbait lipless and some squarebill. My day box, is depend on what I plan to fish that day or week, plastic, hardbait, chatterbait spinnerbait megastrike, you name it. I have this box under my seat where I can change lure quickly without reaching to the front well. I will store whatever I use that trip in this box. Look at my video, the box you see is my day box. It is a little bit messy since I have not reorganized it after last few trips. Normally this box would have one or two Fluke in different color, chatterbait small swimbait, small spinnerbait and megastrike. The bluegill and others I stored after done using it on the trip that need to put back where it belong later on. This box also get air dry every trip since it is only box that get a chance to get wet.
-
Quick Question?
That might be it and also quality of hook to consider as well. I got some rusted hook just to store in Plano box after use. I alway open the lid on my day box after boat/kayak fishing trip to let it air dry in garage.
-
Quick Question?
I don't see any effect to the hook yet. The Senko one with hook is still on my spinning rod which was tie a week back. Fluke in my day box was there maybe close to a month. Just think like those kind of plastic swimbait the come with hook. I don't leave them there for too long, thou. Once I change lure I will take off the hook repair with mend-it and store in plastic bag, except my Fluke and trailer on chatterbait which will stay there as long as I fish them.
-
Quick Question?
I alway leave my hook in plastic even with Senko. I always pre-rig some like Fluke and Fat ika with hook in my Day box.
-
gearing for kayak
I might not be a good help since most of my kayak trip are short less than 4 hours. I alway bring only a lures box, a day box (pre-rig or anything I plan to fish that day), a terminal Tackle box and a soft plastic binder.

Ever take your dog with you?
That was my plan all along ever since we bought a house here in Canyon Lake. There are more than a few parks and a hiking tail where I think is perfect for me and the dogs. It all end when one of my dog decided to dive into the lake and my wife found out. We still plan to take the dogs out when we get a bigger boat(pontoon boat).
