Daiwa SV 105 Spool
How much in term of what? Distance? May be not and you might even loose some too. The SV spool only help when you try to cast light weight lure. I use alphas 103 spool (12lb/100yds) for general purposes with 12lb Copolymer but use SV spool(10lb/90yds) with 8lb copolymer for lighter weight lure. I do have extra SV 105 spool if you really want it.

Any suggestions for reels for smaller hands?
SLX 150, bantam MGL, metanium MGL, these are 150 size spool capacity and smaller than Tatula 100. What reel do you have now and how big of the line you plan to use? The 70 size Shimano can hold about 70 yds of 15lb FC. I doubt if you are going to run out of line when bass fishing. You can also spool with 30-40lb braid instead. I use my Curado 70 from 1/16oz Ned rig all the way to 3/8-1/2 oz jig/chatterbait, frog and whopper popper 110 (1oz). Sore hand can happen if your rod and reel not balance, as well as too heavy setup.

Bantam vs. 2020 Metanium
Just a quick checked on first two websites, I found bantam MGL in stock so they are not all sold out. And for 2020 Met I also found it in USA for 360 not 460 as you mentioned. I’m not even gonna mention, that you can find 2020 Met under 300 super easily. Oh and I’d bet you all my rods are under 200 but I can fish head to head with average joe like you who use the most super sensitive high end rod. these are real facts.

Disappointed this spring...
I’m kind of the same but not the same. I can’t really find a big school of crappie so I turn into bass more this year. Same time last year I would spent majority of time and probably caught several hundreds of crappie, this year I have to get up super early to find only a few. On the other hand, I already caught a few of 6-7 lbs and a bunch of 3-5 lb.

Good spare spool for DAIWA Procyon LT PCNLT2500D-CXH?
I have two spinning reel with spare spools. Shimano Sahara 750FB is basically just for panfish that I spool with two different type line, 4lb braid for deeper water or vertical jigging and 4lb Nanofil for shallow. Another one that I use for both bass and panfish, Daiwa Kage LT 2000, 12lb Nanofil for bass and 4 lb Nanofil for crappie. I only use braid and Nanofil with different size leader for all my spinning. The other 4 spinnings also got different line weight and type for specific fishing technique,

How do you target the deep bass in so cal lakes?
Lucky you Tom aka @WRBis a well known here and happen to catch a ton of big bass everywhere. I would die to get him to come fish with me here in Canyon Lake.

Amazon Reels?
It might work but it is still 25 dollars reels. If you spend a little bit money on brand name and something go south within a year or few years later, you still have warranty or cheaper parts.

Brass weights
I’m still using brass N glass mostly size 1/8-1/4oz. It really work good at night. I switch to just tungsten no bead when heavier weight needed or when I need super low profile fishing around rip-rap.

Shimano Curado K 200, Tough to dial in
What is your internal brake setting? Most of the ppl set 2 on 2 off, yes it might optimize in casting distance and should be fine with heavy lure but you leave no room for control when switching to light weight lure. The 3/8 oz jerkbait is not considered as light weight lure at all and the K should have no problem casting that. Try all 4 on and set dial high first, spool tension set to just no side to side play.

Zillion U.S. Version out yet?
d**n that is suck. I would ordered USDM one too if I don’t have to wait that long given that price are not much different.

Zillion U.S. Version out yet?
If you know where to order, you might get yours already, some did on the first shipment. I think the second shipment has been delayed a little bit but should be in May.

Crappie plastics
1. Bobby Garland baby Shad and Shad swim’r is my go to, pearl white, chartreuse (I think I got more than 10 color of this type Shad and a few other brands. 2. Charlie Brewer slider is my second choice and caught a lot of slab for me, including PB at 2.5lb, Red/yellow tail, white, yellow 3. Hollow tube 1.5-2” also more than a few color combinations. I use tube when bite is tough and slow jigging along bottom.

Do bass feed with catfish?
Yes if you can anchor or drift in shallow area. I caught plenty of catfish while fishing for bass casting to shore, but never caught bass while drifting for catfish in deeper water.

The, "Line-Shy" debate
Line shy no line awareness yes.

A good fluorocarbon to start out
Big problem right there 20-25lb FC. You may use 30lb braid but don’t need 20lb FC for general fishing. Yes there are some that use 20-25lb FC but those mostly for flipping pitching heavy lure into heavy cover (short distance target). You should try to go lower lb rate, let’s say 10-12lb FC. Red label is pretty cheap and not very bad at all for starter. I avoid cheap no brand FC which trend to be bigger line diameter and stiffer. This is for baitcaster only. Spinning you are on your own.

Daiwa Tatula Elite OR Shimano Curado 70 MGL K
Curado 70 got about 100yds of 8lb and about 80 yds of 12lb Copolymer. And I’m talking about Copolymer line that bigger diameter when compare to good FC line. How big of a line you want and how far can you cast?

Daiwa Tatula Elite OR Shimano Curado 70 MGL K
Why 70 for only flipping and pitching or short cast reel? 70 to me , and I have had 4 none MGL, is the longest cast reel. Cast better than any Daiwa I owe about 7 Daiwas. For OP, if you want jerkbait reel then you might consider the reel that light weight and comfortable in your hand. 70 is quite smaller than Tatula and might be comfortable to hold for smaller hand. The 70 is my first choice of reel for jerkbait and everything else you mentioned.

Cancelled the Daiwa Fuego 2500. I need a good lightweight spinning reel for the victory 610MLXF
If you consider Fuego as plastic reel, then Vanford or Tatula are also plastic with a little bit fancy carbon fiber mixed in. if you want aluminum it gonna be hard to find light weight, the one below 8oz would be Stradic FL 7.9oz or go down to 2000 size the. You have FL below 7oz.

Curado MGL 70 vs. SLX MGL
Most of my reels are HG, 7 gear ratio. I use this ratio for every thing especially bottom contact. A lot of ppl trend to fish too fast, and to me it is easier to speed up than slow down. For bottom contact mostly you move the lure by rod not reel so faster speed is not necessary.

Loosening drag after fishing
If you can do it, good, but if you forget I don’t think it is gonna hurt much especially when you fish often enough. I don’t normally loosen the drag unless I know I’m not gonna use the reels for months. On carbon drag I normally just fish as is but felt drag (spinning) I try to make a habit of resetting the drag every outing. Reset by loosen the drag and pull the line off a couple feet or until it feel smooth, then set the drag.

Daiwa LT Handle Wiggle...
If this would make you feel better, my Vanford 2000S, ballistic FW and Daiwa Kage LT all have a little play on them not as much as your but I can feel it moves back and forth. Just like @mrpaomentioned never notice it moving the lure or playing fish.

JDM Tackle Question
Yeah 100 size spool vs 150, I mixed up with 2016 metanium. Here is the video show differences on both and review.

Does BFS makes a finesse spinning setup obsolete?
Hey you forgot to mention line twisted ???? that will always be with spinning.
