  1. PFD, This should be pretty good and reasonable price. I have the exact same one. I care wear for a long period of time. https://www.sportsmans.com/fishing-gear-supplies/life-jackets/stohlquist-ebb-life-jacket/p/1486105?channel=shopping&gclid=CjwKCAiA-P7xBRAvEiwAow-VaYPKwuK_JpVspMmZQ-Si-rX8WWXeq1LbuydwZCgQrwz_qFpo2HU37xoCDgwQAvD_BwE
  2. I guess sit inside is less chance for body contact of water compare to sit on top. Another reason float tube is not allow. Lake skinner is the same, only lake Perris and pudding stone that allow but not sure now.
  3. You can fish senko just like Fluke, better yet try the Fluke itself, you can fish it fast or as slow as senko. It can be use as trailer for chatterbait as well.
  4. Can anyone who have this reel tell me the thickness of magnet of this reel. It would be either 1.5mm or 3mm. Thanks
  5. For you my friend. Went out to try new rod I just got from Japan Majorcraft Speedstyle S632UL solid tip with 1/32oz trout magnet. Caught about 6 bass, no bluegill ? with this biggest 1.5-2lb. All bass landed the rod handle pretty well and cast total 1 gram quite good with 4lb Nanofil. I think I’m done with spending money on spinning setup.
  6. How long the line you have on that rig? I only use 8-12” on shot one and 15-24” for the main one. I add bobbers stopper about 2-3” above both swivels so the short one doesn’t fly around by itself. I some time rig different size. Jr. on shot and Super on main. Added: the double rig super fluke would put weight almost 3/4oz on you spinning, you might try Super Fluke Jr. instead.
  7. d**n you are cheapie out on the reel but buy 30 bucks lure. 12lb line on 2-4 oz, one small error and your lure would fly away. Anyway, I do use bass reel for medium size up to 2oz, curado 200IPG and Cardiff 200 but this will be using in creek, small cove or short range target. I use 15lb izorline line on 7’ XH rod. You would be better off with Cardiff 300 for that 7’11 rod and 1-4oz lure.
  8. You should be able to do donkey rig with gulp minnow, I would use 1/32oz jig head instead or at least on bottom, especially in current. In the video, I used two 1/32oz tube jig, I left about 1-1.5’ for bottoms one and add bobbers stopper above the two swivels, so the top one can follow the bottom one. Another way to rig and if you want glide and left to right action then add a few bb split shot above both swivels. Twists up a few time and let it fall. I use #2 Gamakatsu EWG this way (make sure to rig the hook straight in the middle). Goto 1:30 minute to see the double rig tiny fluke (without weight)
  9. Are we talking Super Fluke, Jr Fluke, Regular Fluke or Tiny Fluke here? When ppl say fishing Fluke for bass, I always think Super Fluke and Jr. Fluke, (I can’t imagine others to be as crazy as me to use Regular Fluke or Tiny Fluke for bass. If you have to add weight to be able to cast further even with Double Rig( I think you use the wrong gears here). Adding weight to Fluke for me is to fish different depth or different action altogether. Yes I have add weight on the head (1/16 or 1/8 wacky hook?) but that when I hopped Fluke on bottom around point/drop.
  10. If in the current adding weight might help. You can try belly weight EWG hook but gonna be hard to find such that light weight, or add split shot about a foot in the front. I use 1/16oz VMC drop dead in spring, or add split shot to regular hook when want it to sink faster. This way I can still maintain left to right action and gliding action when I twist rod tip.
  11. It might work, but I don’t like it. I think weight on the head would kill swimming and gliding action. Jig head would also pull the fluke down too fast. I’d rather use bigger swivel or FC if I wanna fish it deep. If you want Fluke sink faster, try D-Shad or Caffeine Shad.
  12. Uni knot here as well for FC/Mono. I used to use trilene exclusively for everything but found random knot failure from time to time especially on light line. I use 6 wraps for light line and 4-5 wraps for 8lb+. i do that too very often and don’t see any different with tie direct. I think it also help when fish Ned rig fast, just like I always use snap with crappie jig.
  13. I hope it is not SLX MGL. Already bought it and sold it. I actually like the reel, palm as comfortable as curado 70, a lot more control than curado. No x-ship on the reel plus washer on pinion shaft bearing so shouldn’t have the same gridding issue as 70. I sold it because I have too many 50 and 70, and I like 70 better.
  14. I was gonna say the same to only use 1 hook on F3 but bigger on F5 I would add samller one in the front since it 2” long. This is not mine This mine #10 and #12 treble hook to #4
  15. I have a question for you, are you trying to match treble hook replacement guide which called for size 6 for #10 treble hook hook? I normally would go bigger as long as that doesn’t effect action or buoyancy of the lure.
  16. I hope it worked out for you keep us posted
  17. Good fine, in this case I agree Caenan would be better fit than casitas. I have been wondered, if new SVS would work on old break drum from 1st gen (red block). I hate red brake block from my curado I, and wish I could switch to new SVS. Too bad shimano are so annal about parts not a lot of interchangeable parts between model, only trial and error, unlike daiwa, only a few frames type and most parts are interchangeable.
  18. Congrats, I wish my wife would do that for me some day.
  19. Owner single replacement hook goes down to #10 the last time I checked. Otherwise you can order from Finesse-Fishing.com. I have no name #4 if you wanna try it, should fit F5 but F3 might be too big. I have done these on some as well, I fish for crappie so I don’t worry about hook being bend. Inline hook supposed to be stronger?
  20. Good luck finding one, the casitas has been long discontinued, but I have seen it pop up from time to time. The casitas, from what I’ve heard, is a nice little reel that cast pretty good, hole up well, despite of the reel is all plastic. I asked one of the local forum here who selling his casitas 151. Will let you know if he still has the reel and willing to ship to you.
  21. Directly from shimano website part#bnt5278 https://fishshop.shimano.com/collections/cas151 https://fishshop.shimano.com/products/bnt5278?_pos=1&_sid=704f897ae&_ss=r Edit: Hold on, I remember something, The regular casitas spool might not work, Only Casitas MGL, let me check for you. Okay both versions use the same lastest SVS brake system which is the same as Engetsu BB. If I were you, I would risk money into buying a used Casitas instead, that way if the spool doesn’t work you still have option of gear swap. Other than that you still have 2 reels that work. Added: your link if for casitas MGL version.
  22. Base all what I know about those reels. My Finesse reel, Shimano stephano 100XG, use the same brake system as stile SS also the same as Old Aldebaran BFS XG. I choose this reel over Aldebaran 50mgl because of the 8 pins brake system. I don’t like SVS much for light bait, it is super finicky. I like the handle and X-drag that I can fish one hand.
  23. For engetsu bb, you might be able to use 150 spool size from Casita since both reel are the same frame. The stile SS, you are out of luck even it is the same frame as Curado 70 but brake system is totally different. The spec of 100 size and 150 size on these JDM reel bass on braid diameter not usual 50, 70 or 150 that we accustomed too, I think the 100 size is bass on PE1/200M (10-12lb braid)and 150 is PE1.5/200M. The 100 look like to be equivalent to 50 size shimano that we’ve know off. For the cost of new casitas spool is 29.64 plus shipping (you still need to confirm if they are interchangeable), you might as well buy SLX 150 at below 100. The SLX will palm as comfortable as your engetsu and stile.
  24. The biggest line I use on Curado 70 with long cast and still have enough line to be comfortable is diameter 0.13“ ~ 14-15lb FC, but after a few snags you might have to replace the whole spool. For braid the minimum of line that I use and not have a lot of backlash problem is 30lb PP.
  25. To be fair for those that use braid line including myself, 30lb braid is the diameter that less prone to have problem when use with casting gear.
