zoom magnum fluke
Just wait and wait and wait with twist once in a while, depends on how deep. Where I caught the most last year was from deep drop off, once it’s on bottom I just pop it sometime fast sometime slow, but make sure it hug the bottom. I caught a bunch of 20 inchers last year.

zoom magnum fluke
I use 7/0 EWG hook, unweighted. I use magnum Fluke when fish deeper water than super Fluke. I fish like jig where I pop along the bottom most of the time. I also use when heavy vegetation and I want it to go under. I also use at night around rocky area. Too bad this year I havent fish much if at all super Fluke and magnum Fluke. This year magnum Fluke and my fav color.

Thanks, I ordered a set of this, was thinking about powder coat but gave up even before trying.

Probably a rookie question...
It happen sometime when thump bar doesn’t full engage normally when you spin handle while thumb on thumb bar press it down. But this can fix easily with thumb bar press and spin handle again. It happens to me a couple times.

Probably a rookie question...
Send back to shimano for warranty. The reel is brand new and if you sure you have not loosen drag star by any mean, then must be internal which can be main gear not seated properly or pinion gear and main gear misalignment. It might be an easy fix for someone but if you are not sure about open up the reel then warranty is the way to go.

Lightest (good) spinning reel under $50
I just came back from local store to check out Daiwa Presso UL rod. While talking with staff he handed me this reel regal lt, man oh man it is smooth and light with “what” 9-10 bearing and for only 50 some bucks. I almost bought it, too bad they only have 2000 in stock and 1000 which I want will come in a week or so. I also tried other LT model, very impressive indeed, only downside is front drag setup which is pretty huge and I can see myself accidentally adjust it too tight/loose while opening/closing the bail.

How Often Do You Change Your Fishing Line?
Finally someone said it. Thanks I thought im only one. I even use reel that too short of a line as pitching reel or short target reel.
-
Counting the fishing line—technique
It would be super easy to just ask your guide to show you exactly what he wanted you to do, he got paid after all. Now after everything done and you spent hours searching for answer? I’m not sure if you spent your money worth. @MN Fisheralready answered your question, BTW.

Anyone use an Ark Sniper?
Yes it was on sale for 99 before 129, I was gonna pull the trigger so many d**n time in the model you bought, to use mainly Fluke and weightless worm. Send it to me, I’ll fish for you and give you the feedback ?

Anyone using 8lb Sufix 832
I have Sufix 832 8lb on my reel, pretty good not super slick as I thought it would be and not as soft as reg PP. It is kind of round not flat but still dig in when you got big fish. I use this line for panfish so I have 4lb copolymer as leader with double uni knot (the line and leader about same dimension)

What's your smallest bass?
This is my expertise, I’m super good at “catching small bass” I was gonna filet it at first but I think I’ll wait maybe a couple more years.

Mono backing opinions?
Yes with spinning you have to have 1/2 to 3/4 full to get some momentum goin if you are down less that 1/2 then the distance would suffer and with spinning you don’t have to worry about weight of spool or those nonsense. To use old line on another reel? Ask me about it, I’m cheap and do it all the time lol. On the other hand if I buy 150yds spool and I know I would use only 100yds to fill one reel, if I fill only one reel all the way then I would throw away the other 50yds, in this case I’ll try to split in half 75yds to be able to spool two times. A cheap line counter would help and yes I have it lol.
-
Mono backing opinions?
I don’t care about the reel that I use for heavier lure 3/8oz and up. It can get as heavy as rock but the weight of lure will help spool spin as long as you can control buffing coming off spool.

Mono backing opinions?
I’m kind of not totally agree, with braid as @WRB mentioned about cold flow under pressure or something like that, meaning braid doesn’t coil up with spool doesn’t matter how long it sit in there. Let say you buy 150yds spool and you only spool 75 yds to fit one reel, thinking 75 yds should cover longest distance plus a few yds more. You use that braid a few years now it only 40-50yds and every time you cast you get into connection knot, would you still using it? That more than 50% throw away. On the other hand if you spool all 150yds into one reel, do you think how long that braid would last you? giving that you only gonna use braid with that reel.

Curado I and 70 gear set swap
Why? And might be since on schematic they called for the same part on 70hg and 200ihg bnt4922 and bnt4923
-
Is this a good, cheap idea or just a bad one?
Yes they should be the same doesn’t matter gear ratio, part # BNT5959. https://fishshop.shimano.com/collections/slx150hg

The SLX spool itself would cost you 28 plus shipping from Shimano. If you look around you can find SLX new or lightly use for around 80. If you only buy a spool meaning you can only have one rig at time and a hassle to cut the line tape spool/rubber band, change spool and re-rig. Spend 50 bucks more then you have two setup at any given time, you can switch back and forth or even change new lure new techniques quicker. Another option for you is to use #10-12 hybrid and call it all around setup, forget about FC or braid. You might not be able to fish super finesse or pitch/flip in super heavy cover, but #10-12 hybrid should cover enough from weightless Senko, to 1/2oz jig/Texas rig plus all moving bait like crank chatterbait spinner even some topwater. You don’t have to use all techniques known to man to become a great bass angler. Dont forget more techniques you wanna fish, more lures and more tackles you need to buy. Look who talking here, a guy who bought too many rods/reels even though he doesn’t need it lol. BTW after you save up enough for boat, then you gonna want even more gears, more varieties or lure and plastic. BOAT = Bring on another thousand, it will never end.

Curado 70 Vs K Vs chronarch
70 It is old super obsolete , there SHIMANO you hear it. Other reel got MGL micro module gear, even the cheaper SLX got updated with MGL spool.

What size drop shot hook for t-rigging?
I use Gamakatsu EWG #2 and roboworm rebarb hook#1. My ideal is light weight hook I can get away with to have plastic fall/move naturally. Picture shown rebarb hook with TRD and compare between the two.

Trying Daiwa reels, need experienced advice
I liked my CT type R, but too bad it 8 ratio and don’t have enough power to crank Spinnerbait so I sold it (caught my PB with it). I also liked Steez EX100, it super light weight and only Daiwa reel that have WOW factor on distance. I sold it becuz I need fun for other reels. Now I only have Alpha SV105 and pixy for finesse type lure. You can’t find any type of Daiwa’s smoothness in other reels even Shimano in same price range. If shimano doesn’t do anything with 70 soon, I might go back to Daiwa Tatula100.
