  1. She is a keeper for sure. I might have to invite your other half instead, so she can convince my wife the other way around. Lol BTW, right now Saturday afternoon, I’m at home watching soap operas with her ?
  2. It is a trial and error. If you can go to local tackle store with your worm and compare to hook you prefer. I remembered had to buy many hooks until I found I like and stick to it. For comparison Gamakatsu EWG 4/0 and VMC drop dead 4/0, VMC Looks like a 5/0 or 6/0 to me. I used mostly 7/0 EWG hook for 9” worm, and sometime 5/0 worm hook. For worm type in my ideal a little shorter hook shouldn’t effect much since most bass would inhale the whole worm, unless you got those d**n dinks
  3. Nice micro power pole setup, I have diy anchor pole and it is pain in my rear end to deploy on kayak. How much power pole set up cost? Easy to install on the go.
  4. This is another one I need to practice more. I can cast a little with light lure but get backlash with heavier ones.
  5. When you gonna sell that rod to me, you already got ark sniper.
  6. The both good in my opinion, how light are you going for? If 1/8 weight I think it better to go with Daiwa. Curado 71 need time (a lot of time) to dial in especially with light lure, but once you dial in there is nothing beat curado 70 in same price range.
  7. Rod float, try pipe insulated 1/2” size. It is smaller than the one sell in the market. You only need about 6” to float your setup. I’m cheap and like to DIY with my stuffs.
  8. Not as hard as you might think. You can use 1/2” d-ring and no it is not interfering while casting or fishing.
  9. Im not sure which alumacraft boat you have, but if your like mine, (tracker topper 14) I recommend transom saver. Why? Over time when you tow the boat, all of stress from bumpy road and such might develop around weld points and crack.
  10. I don’t change Lure very often, changing spot or not. I only fish an hour or so each time so either I stay put or move around a little. I will plan ahead which spot I’m gonna fish, deep, shallow, weed rocky, then I plan what lure I’m gonna be using and stick with it. I do sometime carry 2 setup with me though.
  11. #2 gamatkatsu EWG hook or #1 Roboworm rebarb hook. pic compare to Zman TRD on #1 rebarb hook and pics compare between the two.
  12. It posted here since 2012 and I’ve use this knot ever since I saw it.
  13. Medium rod that rate 1/4 - 3/4 are the norm these days. That why I miss my crucial medium so much. It rate 1/8 - 3/8 and fish true to it rate. I can fish weightless thick worm all the way to Fat Ika no problem. Soft enough tip for Fluke and have perfectly backbone for any type fishing. On the other hand my compre worm/jig rod Medium which also rate 1/8 - 3/8 got even softer tip but not enough backbone (I only use this rod for finesse and small top water.
  14. I own total of 4 Shimano Crucial gen 1-2, Shimano compre and recently got zodias, they are all good and still using it day in day out. They are pretty good for price point.
  15. Catt, I’m not far behind you on accuracy, my scores I guess around 30’ diameter @ 50yds 18’ diameter @ 35 yds 12’ diameter @ 30 yds. not bad, huh?
  16. I don’t think so, I don’t see symbol or exciting drag sound in scorpion mgl from Shimano japan. This is sumbol you you are looking for.
  17. And the new SLX get 70 size MGL spool, while curado 70 get no love. ?
  18. You might not set it correctly, let see picture of your reel and the brake shoes if they are at on or off position. i think casita use gen 2 adjustable brake shoe(white) while mgl JDM version use newest gen. Your must be caenan which use gen 1(red). This is very interesting if you can use casita spool in caenan since they might built from same frame. I’m really interested in you progress. I’ve had idea to replace a whole brake block of 200i (gen 1) to the newest to get rid of that annoying sound.
  19. For 1/8 oz total weight you should do fine with most of the reel these days. If I have to suggest, I’d say Morrum 1600 ?. That is a fine reel, I’m trying to get one (SX1600Mag) myself.
  20. I’m not sure MGL spool would benefit a lot over regular spool on the K for most of the K user. MGL spool advertise as lighter/faster spool which should benefit a lot for lighter lures but K users mostly for medium to heavy weight lures. I only have one reel with MGL spool which used for medium-heavy Lure and I don’t see a lot of distance gain over regular Shimano. I think most of Shimano fanboy will buy scorpion base on color scheme and the sake of JDM scorpion name (***made in Malaysia) not upgrade over K.
  21. Why not get Tranx 200?
  22. It is really hard to figure out which spool would fit into different reel for Shimano, unless they are the same body style but still not all fit, like Aldebaran 50HG and Aldebaran 50 or 30MGL( the BFS version is out due to different braking system) or Casita and Casita MGL (the MGL spool is cost almost the same as new reel). Shimano have a lot of braking systems in their production line old VBS, fine tune VBS (8brake boxes) 1st gen adjustable (red shoe/curado I) 2nd gen (white shoes/13 metanium) last gen SVS (all newer reels) and magnetic type BFS. The best way to improve or swap spool is to go after market like Ray’s, Avail, Yumeya.
  23. The only ppl that give me that weird look is my family members. All they wonder is why don’t I keep those fish.
  24. Finally got me some crappies after have been busy with bass. This guy is my wife dinner. (Sorry crappies but I need to make her happy) 1/20 oz jig head with lures a guy gave me yesterday. BTW he told me crappies spawn after bass, but i’ve heard otherwise. What says? and a bass I caught yesterday jigging around to see if any crappies close to shoreline.
