  1. Another good and bad day today caught two small crappies and missed a lot of bites. There were a lot of activities of shads which should be good, the bad thing was the float and stick light I prepared didn't work. The float was too small and sinked, the stick light didn't work either and by the time the bite get hot, then this guy played with his remote control boat (the one that pretty big, very fast and make lot of noise) pretty close to where I fish. At least I know where they are now.
  2. I'm not sure how good these rod but the one I got recently seem to run heavier than what it rated. I got 7' ML 1/16-1/2oz lure weight but the tip is pretty stiff with plenty of backbone, I doubted it can cast 1/8oz let alone it rated 1/16. My 3 other rods with Lure weight 1/8oz seem to have much softer tip and can load true 1/8oz Lure better. And yes this one weight at 4.6 oz? quite heavy compare to other rods. This rod in my opinion can pass as M rod (1/4-3/4oz) instead of ML, I might have to use this one for light Jig/Texas rig instead if sensitivity is good enough.
  3. When you can't think of anything else use Fluke ? When you see boiling on top of water use Fluke ? When nothing else works use Fluke ?
  4. Or use coffee straw. I think I saw it somewhere long time ago when ppl using straw/river as line thru for any plastic swimbait. With Fluke it might work if you only fish it fast but me I usually let Fluke sink down to bottom or fish around weed, the trebles hook might create some cumbersome. Another thing to concern with Fluke type is weight distribution, river and treble hook might make Fluke sink nose down not fluttering as it supposed to be.
  5. Only 2018, Just 1 over 6 the rest over 5. Even my time is not end yet but I don't think I'll catch anything big. I'm a dink expert now, caught a catfish and 3 dinks today on crappie lures.
  6. Caught a dinner for my wife on my crappies pole. Too bad I only brought with me just that set up. A nice fun fight with UL rod, but gotta find better hook for these Tiny Fluke.
  7. Welcome to BR from another SoCal. I'm in riverside county not far from Lake Perris. Don't ask me about fishing, I'm kind of new as well. @WRBis the one who know all about SoCal fishing.
  8. Accuracy, eh? You know how many time when I aimed to a log, end up my lure got hang up onto that log right where I aimed it lol. I more of a distance guy, I mostly bank fishing so distance help me to cover water, but also depends on location and type of lures. In smaller pond where fish roaming everywhere especially shallow water, most of the bass I caught was within 5-40 feet. In Canyon Lake about 300 acres sometime you can't find any fish with in 50'. Type of lure, I will cast as far as I can with fast moving lure like chatterbait and Fluke but Senko I don't care much. With all that said, you did prettygood for 30 yds with MH 6'6" rod since that rod is not optimum for distance.
  9. I thought only a west coast people would say that.
  10. Congrat on the Fluke. and no your face doesn't make me feel uncomfortable. I think it is actually great, that's just not we see your face but a whole fish too lol.
  11. What size Jig you guy use on beetle spin? I found some of my crappies but they are not in good shape might have to stock some more like road runner and shallow crank. I'm set more on searching Lure becuz I don't know how to find them with fish finder and most of the time would be bank fishing.
  12. This year the Lake Elsinore water district had to buy water for our lake because some of the docks in shallow area got too shallow for boat to get in-out. Until next year with heat staying longer and no rain, I don't wanna see what gonna happen next year.
  13. i failed miserable today. Took the boat out in hope of finding some crappies bite end up with 2 super tiny bass. gear Marabou Jig under bobber and 1/20oz with Zman Slim SwimZ. Gotta go look for my road runner, inline spinner and beetle spin for next time. Man this is tough once I'm in open water don't know what to look for and how to find them. All I do is cast to shoreline and slow retrieve back, that how I caught two bass. No bite on double 1/32oz Marabou Jigs under bobber.
  14. Fast ~ crank bait medium ~ spinnerbait chatterbait Slow ~ bottom contact Super Slow ~ drop shot.
  15. Let me know when you come by I will even let you try my SLX lol.
  16. How far are you to Canyon Lake? If you wanna do demo drive, I have pescador pro 100 10' kayak. You can try fit on your car and try fishing with it. It is small and stable enough not standing thou.
  17. I have ordered from them a few times for something else not kayak. Which one are you gonna buy? There are paddle drive that pretty reasonable price right now. If this your first purchase you can join with your email to get 10 or 15% off your first purchase. I think I have 15% off code if you want.
  18. My retirement plan.
  19. My first crappies of Canyon Lake ????, using lure above with bobber about 2' down. I know it not big only 10" but I hope more to come.
  20. Will this work for crappies? How would you fish it, jigging or slow swimming? Zman Slim SwimZ 2.5" on 1/20oz jig head. @Doradohow do you fish bobby garland, I think I have some along with 2" grub. Anyone use double rig? I plan for double rig 1/20oz bottom and 1/32 or no weight on top for float fishing?
  21. This make me wanna accidentally drop a bag full of tilapia in my lake.?
  22. Yup love that grouper and snapper and also king mackerel. I wish someday I could go ocean fishing in Florida. Here I only enjoy eating halibut and lingcod.
  23. x3 on Tatula original not XT. I got 3 of those myself. It is pretty light and sensitivity is pretty reasonable. Also true to weight 1/4 up to 1 oz. I don't like new seat on new 2018 Tatula line if you can find the old one for about 100+ that is money well spent.
  24. As other mentioned braking system is the same Mag Force System with inductor moving in and out, but differential is line of spool concept where SV spool has air brake system where inductor move in-out and rotate the same time. I don't have Tatula SV, but have Alphas SV, and I agreed with @new2BC4bassthat SV spool got a lot of brake force compare to Curado 70 with educated thump. I prefer Curado 70/50e on Lure weight 3/16 - 1/4 but 1/8 oz or windy situation, Daiwa get the most used.
  25. Shoot I just order one casting 7'0 ML 1/16-1/2oz. I thought my VIP discount would apply for this rod but NOPE ?
