  1. Thanks @WRB the battery is similar to this I guess it is required out put at 1.5a, my charger unit can do maintenance mode (3amp) which output current at 2a@6V.
  2. I agree, becuz I do think that most of the fish or at least half I caught just becuz of luck.
  3. I survived, i survived, I survived. my first round of float tubing, had to make my wife followed me on kayak, just in case lol.
  4. Look really nice, just like the one from catalog, lol.
  5. I have quick questions, I hope someone can help. will I be able to use my charger Schumacher SC1500A to charge 12v 5ah sealed battery? What mode, 15A or 3A? Would automatic/maintenance function still work? Which connector available if I don’t want to remove battery from dry box, the unit only come with clamp type? Or should I just buy a Jr. tender?
  6. A lot depends, also as @Russ Ementioned different brand has different definitions of power and taper. All of my Medium rod have different characteristic same as MH. I use both M and MH, Medium for when I fish shallow and weight 1/8-3-16oz, MH when I fish deep and cast further out, weight 5/32 - 3/8oz. This case I also op for 7’1 XF for good hook set.
  7. I think they are the same some site would add “I” as indicated to “I” version of curado. The PG is for slower gear ratio 5, 200(i) for 6 and HG is for 7 also XG is 8 gear ratio.
  8. 6’6 - 7’ for me. I use Medium rod (more like ML) with soft tip that has Lure weight down to 1/8 (Shimano crucial dropshot Gen1) and Majorcraft Goemotion 6’5 L/BF. Any rod that can load 1/8 oz weight should be fine. If you are not picky Carbon Lite 2.0 ML 7’ can handle Ned rig just fine. I don’t like it though since the bank is super thick(twice as thick compare to my Crucial) and quite heavy compare to other brand.
  9. I use a lot of hula grub when the bite is tough. It is best to fish it slow. I fish them weightless 5”, 1/10 shroom jig head 4”, and Texas rig with 1/8 weight. The best color for me is green pumpkin. While you at it I also recommend Yamamoto Fat Ika. You can fish them weightless in deeper water than hula grub, and seem to last longer.
  10. Baby brush hog is pretty good versatile bait, I use them on light stand up jig head, light weight Texas rig and dropshot. I like black blue emerald and CA 420. This year I ordered a few more color to try out South Africa special, don’t tell @Catt. I caught a lot more on baby compare to full size, but at night the full size one is great.
  11. This is great story not just only killing big bass but pursuing to catch big bass as well. I remembered the first time I killed a bass not big only 3lbs but that was hurt to my stomach. I just really start catching numbers of bass the past 3 years. 1st year in canyon lake I studied and fish mostly the north/small lake. 2nd year I studied mainly shore area in main lake and caught more fish. I hope to learn more area in main lake and move deeper. I’m not in a hurry since the lake is still new to me and many more areas for me to cover shallow and deep. One of this day I’ll follow your suit and pursue those giant bass.
  12. My new water sofa, that my wife surprised me this Christmas. I planed to tested it today but too bad it was cold and cloudy. It is still basic setup will see what I need along the way.
  13. I supposed to go out fishing on my new float tube my wife got me today, but I guess not since it started to sprinkle a little bit and cloudy as well. Oh well there will be a first fish of 2019.
  14. Or basszone around 16 bucks. I got mine when visited Thailand earlier this year.
  15. Sorry OP to hijacked your post, but since we are all about cork and I alsio need opinions. Do you think I can repair this cork. I have not fish with this rod for quite a long time and I don’t remember it get this bad last time I use it. I do have wood filler but don’t have U40. Do one need to use cork sealer after it’s been repaired? The cork is look a lot worse than picture with split, dry and chipped.
  16. I also use precision/glasses screwdrivers like the one from HF link, but not sure what brand for all my reels. The tip is to use electrical plier to help unscrew those factory torqued first.
  17. Currently 4 70s and Lure weight range from 1/8oz to 1oz. line #6 #10 copolymer line and 2 of 30lbs braid line. Rod depends on Lure weight from Light all the way to MH. The biggest fish 23lbs crap. The problem 4 is not enough I want more.
  18. I’m also 90% bank fisherman and I do have jon boat and kayak. @Kozhas a good point in differential between bank fishing and boat fishing. Also @WRBwe applicate your comment regarding bank fishing or boat fishing, some boater just comment as they used to on boat but not suitable for all Bank fisherman. I just adjust accordingly if I Bank fish. I work around shoreline first if no take I would cast out further and further. I choose lures or plastic that suitable for bank fishing not by hype. I always prepare to get skunked. I down size my lure to be able to fish weedy and shallow area. I learn all my spot deep and shallow and learn when fish would be there. The last I don’t mind catching DINKS when bank fish (you can’t just pick and choose) unlike those boater that only target the big one. I do see some benefits of Bank fish, I don’t have to prep, I can just go out a couple hours come home and be happy. I can work the are throughly where boater just cast and go. I also learn that most of shallow fish, they don’t stay put but roaming around. I enjoy fishing from bank as much if not more compare to boat.
  19. I will take comfortable to palm over price and smoothness any day. I know a lot of you want best bang for your buck but sometime comfortable to palm is to be considered as well. If the reel is for moving bait, I don’t mine much but for general purposes especially bottom contact, I want something that comfortable to palm and can hold at 45 degree for a long time. with that said here what I bought. Compare to Tatula 100 Compare to Fuego CT Compare to Scorpion 70, and I have 4 of 70s series.
  20. I ordered fishing line from amazon a few time. One time I got line that been obviously used, the lebel got poked in the middle and no sealed. Just a week ago I order what supposed to be 4lb bulk spoool but I got 6lb instead. The manufacturer label obviously show 6lb but UPC sticker for 4lb go figure. I think a lot of ppl that work for amazon distribution centers are fisherman, I also ordered Senko Kit a few years back and I got what was unsealed box with all the 4” Senko missing. Lucky Amazon customer service is top notch, everything had been resolved pretty quick.
  21. I think this is one of the problem, every wants. I’ve been fishing only one small lake around 400 acres for the last 2 years. Not that I don’t have any other lakes, but CA quaggas control is suck, if I put my boat in contact with other body of water my boat would get quarantined for at least a few weeks. sometime I do wanna go back and fish small community lake, since it is easier to locate bass, but the average size is smaller, especially in tough condition like, right now.
  22. I am cheap, I change my line only when needed for all type. For braid might be forever as long as it not frayed out, color fade doesn’t bother me. For mono/copolymer as long as Line conditioner can fix that line twisted, I’ll keep using it. Fluor, as long as it clear as soft enough.
  23. I do have one with my 6500c3, I use the reel for inshore fishing, but I loan my friend to use for his big swimbait for a whole season. He didn’t complain anything. If you want I can pair with my 5600 so you can compare the size. *add* amazon sell it pretty cheap, I think you should get one and try out, no bent handle btw.
  24. Doesn’t look as good as fillet but taste way better, “my wife’s word”
  25. Check out travel rod, not 2 pieces but 4 pieces Daiwa Ardito MH 7’. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Daiwa_Ardito-TR_Travel_Casting_Rods/descpage-DTTC.html you can fine it about 100 all over internet. I’ve heard good things about it and plan to get one myself if I ever need multi pieces rod.
