Bank fishing rod recommendation for Curado 150 MGL
I would get the Loomis IMX Pro MBR903C. You will be able to make nice long casts from shore and the taper is a do everything well sort of taper. Its my dream rod lol

Limp vs Stiff
I have found that Sufix siege is both limp and strong. I use 4, 6 and 8 or 10 on spinning gear, 12 and 14 on bass baitcasting gear and 20 pound on my pike/musky rod. its the best overall mono I have ever used and Ive used them all at one time or another over the years. its the only one i have found that is super strong yet limp enough to use with ease on spinning gear. I liked Big Game on baitcasting gear but I didn't like it on spinning gear.

So I Received a Christmas Bonus...
my dream combo is a Loomis IMX Pro MBR 903C with a Bantam 150

Clear vs Green
if you don't use green you have a small peen.

How important is a supported pinion gear?
with spinning reels, the double bearing supported pinion gear is called Xship in shimano world if i'm not mistaken. I believe the Sustains were already doing this on shimano reels for years in the USA market before they gave it a name (eg the Shimano Sustain FE for example). I have one (a 1000 model for UL fishing) and I will die with that reel lol

Line recommendation
why not try 6 or 8 pound Sufix Siege? its awesome line.

New Curado 150 MGL
I believe the green color was to pay tribute to the classic green curados of days gone by the silver two tone color of the curado 200i was great looking IMO. (I have the PG cranking model, the last north american shimano to have the 5.5:1 gear ratio). I think these ones were released in 2014 if i recall

Anyone start using a left-handed baitcaster after years of using righties?
never! cast and switch like Roland Martin baby!! when I learned in the late 90s the odd lefty was starting to appear on the market. I looked at one and farted on it immediately! Righty's forever!

New Curado 150 MGL
I want to put one with a G. Loomis IMX Pro MBR903C! Im thinking the green thread wraps would complement the reel perfectly no?

Anyone feel like your collection is complete?
mine won't be complete until i get my dream rod: the IMX Pro MBR903C. and probably a new reel to go with it a year or two later lol I have the 2015 E6X MBR903 and like it but i want to upgrade.

G. Loomis Rods
I have the MBR 903C in E6X version and i really like the extra length. I would consider the GCX version for spinnerbaits and general purpose, and perhaps the 844 for the heavier stuff.

1/8-1 1/2 oz?
the muskie rods over in the muskie world are even worse. some are rated for 3/4 oz up to 12 oz I don't understand

G. Loomis + Shimano: What high-end pairing would you go w/?
If i won the lotto tomorrow i would do the IMX Pro MBR903C and Bantam MGL. I like the 7'6 length and this model isn't offered in GLX etc. also I like the standard Fuji reel seat that this has, not the 'custom' ones on the GLX and up.

Casting Travel rods for Mexico
I have two G. Loomis Escape rods that I have used down south that are amazing but I believe they are discontinued. the next best option I would look at is the new Avid Trek rods. I believe they come in both casting and spinning but I could be wrong. Avids are awesome and St. Croix makes good stuff.

Help me understand a knot strength anomoly
i switched to the palomar knot over the trilene or fishermans knot a few years ago. way easier to tie, less finnicky and stronger.

Sufix Advance Line?
my holy grail of mono is actually Sufix Siege. I love it and use it on all my setups both spinning and casting. I haven't tried Advance yet but Siege is so good I kind of don't want to change.
-
Sufix or Pline???
Sufix Siege is the best all around mono I have ever used and I have used most of them at one time or another over the years.
-
Back to Basics?
Mepps are classic baits that catch fish often when others don't produce. I love the red and black dressed black fury #5 for pike. I use Mepps often, fun lures to fish and they work.

If you could have only one NRX Loomis rod…
903C i like the extra length for casting

Does BG vs Nasci = Ford vs Chevy?
Doesn't the BG have a screw in handle type like the shimano ultegra and up? to me this would give a big advantage to the BG no? that being said, the new ultegra from shimano looks amazing for the money.

Thoughts, predictions, and reviews of the Shimano Curado 150 MGL
the question I have is, is the 150 size capacity enough for, say using 12 pound mono (which i use on my baitcasters) for bass and pike? I have the 200 size curado now and its fine, is the 150 size spool too small for bass/pike fishing?
-
Best US Domestic or JDM travel rods? Also JDM reel recommendations?
I would be getting one of the new St. Croix Avid Trek rods since the Loomis Escape models are discontinued.
- Monofilament Line

Knots for Heavy Lines?
I use a palmor knot for tying 20 pound test Sufix Siege on my pike/musky rod. I can't break it when I get snagged. have to cut it.

St. Croix Premier vs Victory Rod... Worth the upgrade?
only thing to watch for is i have seen several facebook posts with pics of the eva foam peeling off the rod handles. people are saying SC used the wrong adhesive??? not sure but on one St Croix group I'm on there are several posts all showing the same thing. perhaps a bad batch of glue???
