  1. so I am a fan of fuji components, especially reel seats. I don't like the 'custom' reel seats that many shimano and higher end G. Loomis had. I upgraded an old E6X to an IMX Pro this past summer mainly because of the fuji reel seats. the next level up the GLX has a custom seat that a lot of people don't seem to like (MBR903c)
  2. I think because the curado mgl has a drilled spool and the tranx doesn't (because its designed not to get saltwater into it) the curado might cast lighter baits better.
  3. I just got an IMX Pro MBR 903C this past summer and its awesome. highly recommended. I have mine paired with a curado 200i but a Chronarch G would be awesome on it
  4. please post pics of the reel mounted on the rod show us the full frontal
  5. I think the Ultegra is the best bang for the buck in Shimano's entire line.
  6. I know its not floro, but If you want strong line that casts well on spinning gear, try 8 or 10 pound test Sufix Siege. its awesome on both spinning and casting gear, which is a rarity for a mono line.
  7. post pics of it! on the Expride too show us the full frontal lol
  8. I use Sufix Siege in 10 pound test on my 3000 size stradic. its awesome. strong and casts well.
  9. I have a tranx 400A and its awesome. I use 20 pound test Sufix Siege on it
  10. Loomis seems to rate most of their rods as follows: UL - up to 3/16 oz (or 1/8 oz) L - up to 5/16th oz M up to 3/8 oz (esp on spinning models) MH up to 5/8 or 3/4 oz depending on the model H up to 1 oz this seems to be how their spinning rods go. and some of the casting rods too .
  11. I have a curado 200i on my IMX Pro MBR903c and its perfect. a similar reel would be great. maybe Curado 150 mgl?
  12. I haven't fished it but its a rod i would like to own one day none the less: what about the SJR 901? this is available in NRX+ and IMX Pro versions.
  13. one option might be to jump up to the longer versions. I have the 892S JWR (but in 2018 E6X version) and it can really launch baits. the 7'6 length is awesome.
  14. I am a big fan of longer rods so I would get the 7 footer. better yet, get a 7'6 rod if you can
  15. I'm sure they are the same reel except for the spool diameter. but I always lean towards the 3000 shimanos because I like the T handle better. the 2500 and 1000 sizes have a dinky little nub for a handle knob. the T is way better IMO.
  16. I would do the Ultegra 3000 spinning reel on an Avid rod, probably 7 foot ML. the blue on the ultrega would match perfectly with the blueish hue of the Avid blank oh yeah ok I need this combo now lol
  17. I have the IMX Pro MBR 903C that I upgraded from a 2015 model E6X and the difference is massive. that being said, the 2018 model E6X (they were redesigned that year) are a lot better than the first generation. I have a 2018 JWR 892S and its an awesome rod. So even a GCX Model MBR 843 would be a great rod, as I believe the GCX's are the same 2018 E6X blanks just with different guides??
  18. 90% casting, 10% spinning. Spinning only when I'm throwing really light stuff
  19. I thought interchanging Daiwa and Shimano parts would upset the space-time continuum irreparably?
  20. Awesome review. I have the IMX Pro MBR903 and I love it. its my first 'higher end' rod. Hopefully not my last lol
  21. they shouldn't give you a rod that is worth $200 less. even if they cant offer a travel rod, get them to give you a legend elite or something of equal value. they are screwing you over here.
  22. I think that's Amazon.mars. I would also go with the Curado 300K. for a rod, maybe an IMX Pro Swimbait rod?? but it will be a $600 combo.
