  1. I usually fish a buzzbait just like it is out of the package and I don't fish a spinnerbait
  2. Suspending jerkbait sounds good for 7 ft deep fast clear water.
  3. Hamma, I have been switching over to backreel for smallmouth in deep water, it's pretty handy when they start bulldogging under the boat
  4. 19 or so (+?)inch smallmouth. Tape measure wouldn't lock........
  5. Anyone but bama....... please anyone but them!!!!
  6. Nice boat in good condition but not the oldest in use on the forum. I still use my papaw's 1957 cherokee all the time. I put a mud motor on it though. Bottom picture is a couple buddies of mine that borrowed it the day after thanksgiving. Impromptu two boat tournament and of course they beat me with that old boat. We even had an extra person advantage
  7. That sound is terrifying. When I was about 13 or so we were at a state park and kept hearing that outside. Thought it was a child screaming bloody murder so we went tromping through the woods with flashlights toward the sound and a red fox is just standing there screaming like crazy
  8. Lowrance elite HDI
  9. Wow those are some bigguns
  10. I'm way upstream of you but all the lakes mentioned in the above post are pretty awesome! (Although I've never been to Neely Henry). Try to fish when they are generating if possible. This time of year fish can be surprisingly shallow, the baitfish like to soak up the sun. The major factor working against you is that every Tom, Dick, and Harry has a full size truck and a bass boat. I would guess that the bass in the stretch of the Tennessee river in north Alabama are close to the smartest bass on earth. They have seen some things man................
  11. I have been watching a couple YouTube videos of people ice fishing Mille lacs this week, I guess the Muskie was caught a couple weeks ago?
  12. Thanks man! Hoping to chase them again today. That is provided I can move after eating myself silly last night
  13. Depends on where I'm fishing but usually the cheapest 1/8 oz round ball jig head I can find. Which is usually Arkies from wal mart
  14. Got a couple nice smallies Friday, one 21 inches maybe 21.5. The other just short of 20. Water temp was 50 and fairly clear, got them pulling shallow cranks about 2mph
  15. Small tube jig with 1/8 oz jig head shoved into it. Drag slowly on the bottom
  16. Thanks man, I just throw stuff on there wrap it. They will catch fish but they catch a lot of tree limbs and rock shelves too
  17. Keep trying it, i would way rather fish in winter than in summer.
  18. Wearing short sleeves to work in East Tennessee today and still sweating. Nice and sunny, hoping to fish after work
  19. Braid and mono are the only thing I use on a spinning reel. Fluorocarbon works great on a baitcaster but does crazy things on a spinning reel. I only use it for leaders with spinning tackle. I feel like the wind is going to blow any line
  20. Depends on where I am. Norris lake temp is slow to fluctuate so those smallies still love dawn and dusk. And shade. Norris and cherokee lake smallmouth will be on shady banks no matter how cold it is. Fishing flowing rivers/reservoirs I like to fish sunny shallow water mid day. Opposite tactics on deep tributary reservoirs that don't flow much
  21. Thanks man!!! Never fished Powell side, I'm coming from Knox so I usually launch in cove creek or at pt 19. I have fished near Anderson co park once which I believe is where the two rivers come together
  22. Thanks for the post, I was going to fish there last weekend but my buddy had a tournament there and I didn't want to sore lip anything !!! (More like get skunked and get in the way). Got holiday time off coming up, will use one or more days of it on Norris. Is that screenshot rockfish amongst bait?
  23. In my experience the best way to catch the biggest largemouth in a pond doesn't involve a lure, but rather a live or dead bluegill
