Hypertension
People from Minnesota have to be tough, they walk on frozen lakes! My mom has been on blood pressure meds for 30+ years and my brother just started taking them. I suppose it’s only a matter of time for me

Rodent Chewed My Trucks Wires
My friends dog gobbled a mouse that had been poisoned. She panicked but the dog was A OK. I’m not sure of the secondary toxicity but I don’t think it’s much if any . But you can trap them just as easy, same result: dead mouse

Ok so it flows into the Cumberland? There should be lots of white bass coming out of the Cumberland and running up all tributaries very soon. If not, they will be running up the Cumberland until they hit some good shallow flats or a dam

No problem man. I’ll look at a map of the Harpeth here in a bit, I’ve heard of it but never seen it in person. White bass is my spirit animal, I’ve lived off them for years. If I was to carve a totem pole, they would be on it

Bowfin/ Grinnal
Im Not sure who would win that fight but I bet it goes 12 rounds. Bowfin is certainly stronger on the end of your line but the gator has a tougher shell I’ve never seen anyone close a bowfin mouth with electrical tape, I’ll say that

I personally know a few people that have eaten them and they reported them to indeed be horrible

Could be worse..but really?
I don’t know about a furnace but with gas fireplaces , blowing out the area of dust seems to solve that issue

Is A Rubber Landing Net Worth It?
They are smashing them down there! i usually leave my net at home. Mostly on purpose because you hook big fish that jump boat side when you don’t have a net. At least I get a chance! When I bring the net along in the boat, we seem to get dinks haha

I thought I would cuss more when my rod snapped in half.
This is why I fish rods under $20. I don’t plan 95% of my fishing trips, just grab stuff and go every single opportunity I get, usually 3-5 times a week. Throw it in the truck for bank walking, canoe, kayak, or two different boats on trailers. I’ve always got a different cast of characters fishing with me from little kids or 3-4 other full grown men with several rods a piece, no way I’m taking anything expensive out there. Murphy’s law would certainly recognize that we brought something nice and shatter it or toss it overboard immediately

There's this question I have been wanting to ask for a long time
People hunt for food. Then they realize it’s enjoyable, so they spend their free time acquiring food in a fun way. It’s pretty ironic to buy meat at a store but say you don’t like killing things. So basically you just hire it done, don’t look down on the people willing to do the dirty work

Bowfin/ Grinnal
They will destroy anything and everything! I don’t know of any in TN except a few below nickajack dam and I’m sure there are some in Mississippi River backwaters

Well, it’s a long story between me and the white bass. I caught that one on UT campus, they make a massive migration upstream this time of year. You can see people fishing/wading the shallow mud flats intercepting them on their way upstream. I caught mine with a zoom tiny fluke on a jighead , others appeared to be using a marabou jig under a bobber and ripping it along. I also picked up several rooster tail packages off the ground so that must we working as well. Spoons and grubs are also great choices. These are fish that are hard charging upstream almost like salmon or something, they seem to love the shallow mud flats. There are staging spots they use where you can find a school of hundreds of them stacked up on top of each other, but that typically requires a boat. They will be in the deepest part of the river just before some shoals or flats waiting on the water to hit about 57-59 degrees. I’ve sat on a school many years starting in mid November and caught them pretty much all winter non stop until march or April when they hit the shallows and spawn. And when they do hit the shallows, it can be some of the craziest fishing youve ever experienced, they will usually hit a top water repeatedly until they get hooked. And then there’s summer, which can also be a riot. Once the shad fry hit the surface, usually 80 degree surface temp, they will chase the schools of tiny shad all over the lower end of the reservoirs. It can be tricky to catch up to those schools but if you land on one, 80-100 catches is possible . I’ve captured it on film a time or two

I’ve been camping in the same swamp for a week every year since the late 90s and I’ve only caught this one in 2014 My buddy and his kids on the other hand, they catch several every year, it’s uncanny. They brought this one aboard last summer and then back to the campsite in my livewell for whatever reason, the fish nearly destroyed the entire vessel in his short stay

I’m a rodent’s worst nightmare, but I’m a far ways off from your locale. Drive your vehicles as often as possible and kill as many rodents as possible.

Where I fish it’s just the way it is. If you go fishing, smallmouth are going to see your lures. They are one of the most common fish in the water. I got a 6 ish lb one Saturday with half a night crawler - Soft Swimbaits
