  1. Or jackhammer dont pros have a hand in designing pretty much any new bait?
  2. Back in the saddle. Squirrel tracks in the snow
  3. Campsite is booked!
  4. It’s looking like I’m in! Hoping to tent camp at the state park
  5. Don’t look now but my two favorite teams both won their division, Cincinnati and Tennessee
  6. Look on the bright side, you could go back to drought and wildfire . Can’t have your cake and eat it too !
  7. I want to use the storm largo shad that Jacob wheeler throws in several of his YouTube videos but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I got squirming Shads at cabelas instead because it was 15 pack for $4 or $5 instead of 6 pack for a similar price
  8. Also I’ve been a guide, full time and part time for 15 or so years. The things the other guides will blame lack of success on never ceases to amaze me, but it’s ALWAYS something. They have to come up with something good or the clients might become upset. the most common is of course “cold front knocked them in the head.” I still love fishing after cold fronts
  9. Ah. 90 degrees on surface, yes that happens a lot. I thought he meant 90 degrees on bottom
  10. I believe the topic was about boats drifting away with nobody in them
  11. That’s what I mean, you can offload those extra scissors in your pack! Haha. I’ve never had a problem cutting braid with a knife. In fact I can cut right through it with rip rap
  12. Just by reading what you wrote, the reason to carry the knife in your pocket while c and r fishing is so you won’t have to have the scissors in your pack
  13. I think I’ve still got a kayak floating around somewhere. It blew off the dock, probably sank or someone got a free kayak
  14. Brother in laws house where I’m at Much nicer than the sleet yesterday My buddy near Douglas dam got a good bit more, his power is out
  15. Maybe, although I would think it would be totally white . I know they all have red eyes when you encounter them with a flashlight in an attic
  16. That all sounds reasonable, the 90 degree water at 98 feet doesn’t
  17. I get gar fairly regular on jerkbaits. They jump like billfish, it’s wild haha. One of my buddies guides for Muskie, they get some monsters. I had a buddy catch a big one with a crappie jig the other day
  18. Did you finally make the move?
  19. The guy you talked to could be right, and he could be wrong. I always try to ignore what anyone says about fishing and do my own single line sampling for research. I’ve never heard of water at the bottom of a lake being 90 but Georgia is the hottest state I’ve ever been to so if it can happen anywhere I guess it would be there (but in reality I doubt it). In winter, reservoirs can be the same temp top to bottom. In summer, that’s not the case (Warm on top and cold on bottom). We have several lakes that are 200+ feet deep and the coldest water temps on the bottom of the lake at the dam occur in early summer. The water below the dam can be in the 40s on a 100 degree day. There is an oxygenator in the bottom of Cherokee lake and it’s closed to fishing during a certain Portion of summer. It was installed to increase dissolved oxygen content for striper
  20. You never carry a pocket knife??? It’s a miracle you’ve made it to this point without one Any of them are good, I learned a long time ago not to carry a sentimental one every day This one is $5 from wal mart. I even leave it in my pocket while swimming in the ocean. I have much better ones but they stay at home in a wooden box . Opening with one hand is a big advantage
  21. I definitely have been influenced by pros, although I can’t afford to use half of the stuff they throw. One thing I will never buy is 8 half worms for $5 (ned rig )
  22. I’ve fished my entire life without ever getting onto a power fishing bite
  23. Went to my first pro football game today, titan up!!!! It was sleeting pretty much the entire time
  24. We have some toothy creatures too. lots of big Muskie but they never bite anything so no worries there. Gar, however, bite ever lure they see. I’ve caught them over 40” many times with 65 braid and 6 lb mono. They peel off all your line like a tuna i don’t throw expensive plugs so I’m not using wire.
