  1. Inevitably, I’m going to lose a ton of jigheads. It’s what I throw 3/4 of the time I would imagine, and they hang up a lot even with the hook buried in the plastic. Therefore I buy the cheapest ones I can find of reasonable quality. They are typically unpainted but often you can find the painted ones for the same prices or sometimes even less. If smallies won’t eat these, it’s a rare day
  2. I had to get a possum out of someone’s basement once and it dug all its claws on all 4 feet into the carpet as soon as I grabbed it. The grip strength was unreal, I thought I was going to have to cut the carpet
  3. The water on that same river upstream of the lakes (about 60 or more miles upriver) is probably over 80 degrees currently because it’s “freestone” (no dams) from there up to its origins
  4. East Tennessee smallmouth bed fishing in July
  5. I throw mine on a flemsy fiberglass rod with 4-6 lb mono. that 1/16th lure may be a tad light to throw on braid but the 1/8 should work. There’s a little friction in the guides when braid shoots through them
  6. Braid and mono float, fluro sinks
  7. If you charge more, people would still tip. It’s a non verbal thank you
  8. Looks like a coiled spring ! I imagine the next picture is the underside of the dog flying over your head!
  9. Pop R , Keep throwing it after the morning too!
  10. He still qualified points wise I guess. He was open with them about fishing the events before the season started and they didn’t tell him he would be disqualified so maybe they took some mercy on him because they weren’t clear from jump street
  11. With Ito winning, Cox made the 2022 bassmaster classic
  12. A pond is simply not smallmouth habitat, otherwise they would be in all ponds across America like largemouth. Sure, you can put one or three in a pond and they will live. But they won’t form a reproducing population. The only exceptions I could imagine is maybe if your pond is in maybe Maine, upstate New York, or maybe Montana or Idaho
  13. Good to know about those biospawn baits, my buddy is on a constant search for another paddle tail bait
  14. I don’t know about the spro ones but I have a booyah bait that looks like that but has a single tail and catches big bass. I bet that spro one would work great by the looks of it but I’m not a fish. Try the booyah bait if it’s easier to get, I love them
  15. Hahahahhah. The butt palsy struggle is real. I have to remember to walk around, I think some members even suggested it in this thread.
  16. Is there room in your semi for all that??? Our ollies has crazy low prices on fishing stuff sometimes. Other times they don’t even have fishing stuff, but it’s worth a shot! My buddy gets shad raps for like $4.99 and $10 cast nets there
  17. 25 acres? I wouldn’t fish it at all! But if I was forced to, I would throw weightless plastic worms, they outshine all other pond baits I’ve ever tried
  18. Now we’re talking!!!
  19. I certainly havent but those work great in the kitchen for me. Everything I’ve tried on the mailbox has been some thing I found laying around and extremely hurried ha . It’s one side of the hinge on the bottom that lost its crew and I have just been putting random things in there
  20. The door never wants to stay shut so I’ve rigged it 100 different ways to stay closed, each time a little more haphazard than the last. All that comes in there is bills that I throw away anyhow haha
  21. How many lbs or drag should I use? Do I need to go to golds gym and use their weights to set it ?
  22. You mean they let you pick your own mail person??? I think mine hates me on account of my mailbox haha
  23. I wouldn’t say we solved it but we’ve formed an educated hypothesis anyhow
