I’ve done a whole lot of fly fishing and been an instructor/guide for about 12 years. Therefore I hate fly fishing ! It can be very effective, especially in late summer floating shallow water for smallies . Though it may be effective, I don’t like it . But out-of-towners with lots of money sure do! So I press on......

I’m a fan of any bean, but I’m not sure which one is a shuck bean. I’m betting it’s what we always called “shellies” or maybe “purple hulls” that we shelled instead of breaking . Even as a youngster I had a dynamite system for shelling. I formed a newspaper into a water slide and would shell the beans and let them slide down into the kettle, never having to leave the comfiest chair on the breezeway

That’s about how our state is. Where I live you can’t kill much compared to middle and west TN. Also I’ve yet to find that “only eat so much” threshold. I’d rather eat it than just about anything. Kind of salivating just typing about it

Good stuff! I had a boat stolen back about 2008. A few months later my best pal calls, his dad basically taught me how to fish and helped raise me. He says “don’t freak out or take this the wrong way, but my dad bought you a boat!” Wow. So at first I’m thinking no way I can accept this. I sought advice from trusted folks and they said accept the gift, the person giving it wanted you to have it so allow him that joy. So that’s the only reason I have a decent boat to this day! My buddies always say “you must be livin right with all the luck you have.” I’m not so sure about that but I always strive to treat other humans as best I can. What goes around comes around!
