Ike weighed in a huge spotted bass in one of the early rounds, I think it was day 1. I saw a pic online, I bet that was one heck of a fight

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Wild evening for me. Started kayaking from the dock after 5. I fished around and got one dink on a worm. The wind was howling somewhat backwards so I thought I should leave the creek and hit a main channel bank that I thought would be protected. On the way there, I decided to troll a grub behind the kayak while I was paddling into the wind. Lucky me , a fish smashed it pretty soon thereafter . I was using 4 lb test and ultra light gear so it was a wild ride, fish cartwheel jumping and screaming line off the reel. It finally tired out and I boated what I think was a meanmouth, just over 18”. This was an epic fight, but I still had an hour or so of daylight left. I kept dragging a worm on a riprap point and hooked into something, turned out to be a LM with two lampreys attached to it!!! Then on the way back to the ramp I trolled the same grub and got a nice white bass

Fujita and Ito had pretty good days with no livescope…..

I doubt that, probably just silted in. Being manmade probably gave it the boom then bust effect

I had some buddies that used to camp there, apparently it was great fishing in the 90s but they said if a barge is coming you must seek shelter immediately. The entire waterway is manmade for shipping so they will run you over and/or swamp you. Some analyst they had on earlier said 30 lb bags were weighed in back then, now much of the grass is gone

Mosely was fishing near an osprey and I was thinking that’s always a good spot. Then he got a big one!

Dogwood Tree Watch
Same as every year, dogwoods are bloomed in my yard and bass are at least a month behind

This water looks pretty awesome, lot of cypress lot of weeds etc. People are driving 1-2 hours to get to their spots and having to go thru locks. I saw Brock Mosely catch a jammer of a white bass way back in some backwaters

Anyone else noticed USPS deliveries are much slower now?
This is why I try to avoid ordering anything on the internet all together. I still have to get some things I can’t find at a store but not many

White bass in the wind
@Jig Man , river holes below the shoals is exactly where we got them tonight! Still had to battle wind but they started chewing before sunset. Got more yellow bass than white bass but they are better anyway! Also got 3 sauger (or maybe walleye) but all too small to keep

White bass in the wind
I was fishing for white bass Monday after work and not having much luck. A fellow angler said “come over here, they are all around my boat” He caught 6-8 but told me somebody had caught 80 there earlier in the morning before the wind started. He stressed that they wouldn’t bite well in the wind. Fast forward to today, I’m going again after work. But this time I’m going to attempt finding some less windy areas. Using the deep dive app, I think I found a few spots that might work. Looks like we have the typical SW wind today, so at least it will be warm

I don’t know exactly but I want it….. 🤣 Only problem is I don’t need it and I’m in debt- Go to baits always on the deck?
Jig head I can switch between plastic worm, fluke/minnow, grub, or paddle tail bait. I also put live shad or nightcrawlers on them I use A LOT of jig heads Mostly fishing after work, I try not to be fiddling around with looking thru tackle boxes for a bullet sinker, worm hook, or tying on leaders so it seems to me a jig head is the easiest, fastest, and most versatile option (on straight mono) I still love all manner of bait that’s aren’t spinnerbaits but keep jig heads at ready- Patching Kayak with plastic welding
I had one fly off a trailer and hit a guardrail, made a hole in the boat the size of a softball. My buddy plastic welded it and she’s still floating to this day If you can’t find the leak try filling it up with a water hose at home - Boat motor
