  1. http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=38806 The baby version of this goes on sale SEVERAL times a yr with free shipping. It can be folded into a bag when not in use.....I use them all the time
  2. Reach out to a local university, as they can often offer help at no charge. There are a lot majoring in environmental studies and this is an area or study
  3. I first read the title as " here for sex", was going to point you in another direction. Then saw SETX.....makes sense......welcome
  4. Holla Bill, pull up a chair!
  5. The lund crossover would get the job done, but comes with a healthy prictag. Used ones can be had and letting a dealer just own your looking may help. Remember, with your budget and what you want to do, a 150 he will cast you 16,500 for the motor alone!!!! The Type is a more affordable option, just not as cushy
  6. I lime them, but they can really catch the wind. My buddy lost an expensive rod down the highway that was run over by a couple cars
  7. I learned the hard way and lost several baits until I got the appropriate gear. Head Tom's advise
  8. I don't mind Walmart. In my small town, they employ a LOT of folks that would be unemployed and they treat retired vets well. The are a couple old fishinng guys in that Dept that are a reel help to NOOBS, and the price of GY senkos is better than the rest. You can a lot of the basics including name brand spinner, poppers, jerks, ect. Also usually have big game and PP,
  9. Devil Dog, No such thing as a "former" Marines.....just some of us now who carry fishing poles instead of a rifle. Welcome aboard Al
  10. Welcome aboard...getting back into the howdy can be a ball
  11. I used to, but have been using clips tied to braid.......just easier
  12. The yr Yamaha bought them they eliminated wood from the stringers. I think the model numbers ended in "c" represent non wood stringers

I still love the 130, but will be replacing my 90's with the 110. When there are white caps or getting dark, the 130 gets the call
  14. Snaps to avoid O rigs on CB, Swimmers and surface Retie the snaps often Edit....have friends that used swivels and have witnessed several break....I don't see the need
  15. Joining lines...FG or Uni to Uni All other knots, Uni or SDJ
  16. Just for the heck of it, last weekend I threw the smallest of crank on a Med / Xf with a loosened drag and it worked pretty well. Clearly not the preferred setup, but never thought I would throw something that light
  17. You can tell when mono is on its last leg buy the increase of breakoffs, but given its relatively cheep, buy it in bulk. Don't bother backing it up with cheaper stuff.
  18. Wally world has much better prices on GY senkos along with most of the Flukes I use. I live in a small, community and they employ the "unemployable " and retired vets that could never get a job on mainstreet.
  19. 110 catches fish!

Folks, I got the 110's in last night and went out early the AM to compare. I went to 5 favorite spots. Used only top waters and swimmers for the same amount of time in each spot. Caught 4 fish in for different spots all on the 110 in white. To date the rat has been a reliable top water but failed to land the 2 hits this AM. A couple observations ...the wake was very similar the the mid sized rat. ...all fish were well buttoned and lip hooked ...I see no reason to throw the 90 ...well balanced in the water ...today the fish hit this above everything else I through regardless of spot. Sorry mods, had a senior moment and posted in the wrong section
  21. Are the breaks at the knot or prior to the knot? How old is the line, has it been out in the sun... It could be a bunch of reasons for breaks. and Popularity of big game is that it is inexpensive and wally world carries it. 10 lb is plenty big enough, but there are better mono's on the market. Personally I use 10 kb braid with leader and love it. I witness more mono breaks than any other line
  22. Years ago, I stumbled on a nice 35 acre pond with river input and dam controlled. I walked up to the owners home and asked if he minded if I walked around and admire it with my lunch. He came out and gave me a little tour. 45 minutes later he said I could use his aluminum row boat and fish at will........as long as I treated it as if it was mine. Respect goes a long way as does a firm handshake, eye to eye contact,
  23. Just a side note, I back my reals with old braid and it may be my imagination but I really think it allows me to run lighter braid without digging in.....

If it ain't broke..........remember, most bait is designed to land fishermen!
