  1. Understanding water temps and structure go a long way in catching fish
  2. I was gifted a couple of these and they are great https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Plano_EDGE_Master_Terminal_Box/descpage-PEMT.html I also use close-pins. these work well too https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-566W/Twist-Ties/Plastic-Pre-Cut-Twist-Ties-4-White?pricode=WB0358&gadtype=pla&id=S-566W&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIov2oob7b6AIVXf_jBx1SJAbcEAQYASABEgJWJ_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I tried to like them. A few years ago, I got out of .40 and went to 9 for the availability reasons. I looked at AR's, but truth be told, my AK's were far superior and rounds were far more plentiful and less expensive. If I had to decide from the 2 you listed, it would be the Ruger based on the platform. Sorry to be little help. Good luck edit: I think the reason I didn't like it was because of the feel and purpose. the 9 is a short barrell round and hard to reach out 300 yards and touch someone. truth be to, 100 yards was questionable in comparing it to 7.62 or 5.56
  4. I use several short shank wide gap trebles on several CB's It may be in my imagination, but I seam to hook more short strikes and get more bass in the boat. I also wanted to lessen the leverage fish get, so some I shorten and some I have double o rings.
  5. Paul, sorry to hear.... Will gladly add her to the list
  6. I have never done it but was a white water kayak instructor yers ago. Last week I saw 2 guys in their yaks . water temp was 43 degrees and the air was only slightly warmer. both had dry bottoms and booties and were also wearing a thin wetsuit short sleeve wet top under winter jackets. they had a short tether to their boats and poggies on their paddles. Super prepared! I suspect it is the only time of the year we will see them that geared up
  7. The trick with the FG is to mushroom the leader when you cut it and before you finish the knot
  8. I cant tie that freekin knot to save my life. Uni-uni has never failed me and once you get good at the FG you will never go back. That said, when I have time at the dock, the PR gets the call.
  9. It’s not public yet, but we lost one in a canoe yesterday. Still searching for the body?
  10. please share when you get it.....thats exactly what i am looking for. hard to find the bill clip-ons
  11. Good habits during the day create safe habits at night. A-Jay hit all the important parts and my rules of thumb...No more than 2 rods on the deck at a time. All fish get the net. grippers and needle nose for treble hooks. My spacial awareness at night is not what it used to be and old eyes and hearing issues get amplified too. In an effort to improve my skill, I plan to do a LOT of night fishing soon!
  12. Since my boat stays on a slip, it goes in Tuesday for at least 8 weeks.

  14. Pass on stock replacements.....I have bent more than I care to remember. If you stay with the same size, most won't change the action
  15. Again, a personal choice. The only time I crush the bard is if my Mrs request I do it for her....and that is related to how often she gut hooks a fish. If your using fish population as a reason, I would reconsider the matter as many studies show that selective harvesting would improve the health of the fishery.
  16. Your going to get a lot of replies. There are many great options. I have become fond of the Aaron Martin trebles. I also have a lot of Owner ST's still in service. I will up the size depend g on the bait but don't want to change the action, especially on the 110
  17. I always have one on deck, but it usually the bait of last resort. it catches fish and sometimes it is the only way in very calm conditions......It just isn't as fun for me
  18. If it feels good, do it. The market will settle this in years to come and I don’t think you will see many backreeling. If I loose a fish from an improperly set drag, it’s on me. ......and yes, I like the sound of a fish taking line and it gets my partners attention?
  19. Finns, Hitena,smackdown
  20. I hate when people say what I am about to say ? Look for a used Bantam or save up a little more. If this is not an option, chronarch......
  21. Go for it! .....for me, at this time of the year, I go regardless of wind, since I can always find a still area with the drop-off I lime to fish
  22. I do like my pink for topwaters
  23. Love both but put more fish in the boat with the MBR......I alway feel like I am going to break a NRX?

I also use megastrike. I can't say for certain that it works. In my mind, I am covering my scent. I want to believe they may hold it longer and I know it helps baits come through grass better
