Who's going to sign Mike Vick?
I would probably add Washington Redskins to that list.

Angelina Jolie (PICS ARE UP)
Number one rule: just don't post pictures of women saves you and the moderators some heart burn you want to see pictures of her you got the whole internet to do that. Capt.O but it is ok to post male pictures? the pictures he talked about was of her and the troops, not half naked pictures or provocatie pictures. what is the differece between AJ pictures shaking soldiers hands and someone posting their gilrfriend/wife pictures holding a fish? if it was Will Smith, would that be ok? just asking, you don't need to answer. now I am scared.

Patagonia lake, Southeast Arizona
well, my wife had to go to Tucson for 3 days of conferences and i am her designated driver so get to go along. she was bussy all day last thursday and she would not be free untill late at night so I took a couple of rods and some lures to go fishing. I ended up driving about 70milles one way to get to Patagonia from the resort we were staying but I was excited about it. I left my fishing lisence in my truck so I had to buy a one day lisence for $16, and rented a canoe. the air temperature was 73º when I got to the marina at 9:00am. cloudy and a light brezee. I am used to fish under no clouds and air temperatures or around 100º+ at this time of the year, and never while raining. I thought it was a good challenge for me. Started out throwing crankbaits and got slammed on one of those, but there was something different about the way the fish felt, no jumps or fast movements, I thouth it may be a big bluegill, but it was not sahking like one either, so by the time it was close to me I notice it was a catfish. I never had a catfish bite a crankbait before so that was kind of funny to me. I keep throwing cranks but eventually started dropshoting and cought a few small bass. That was it, no keepers at all. when I returned the canoe the lady there told me the biggest bass taken at that lake was only 16" long. so, overall was kind of desapointing outing but I got my first cat on an artificial lure and got to fish in different conditions I am used to, it was kind of like fall fishing for me, I even saw shad boils on the surface. I had to cut the day short because up in the mountains you could see lightning and a big dark cloud rolling in.

When bluegills attack............
I think I may have just changed lures and start fishing for the bluegills instead. I am not a bass only fisherman but a multispecies fisherman so that would not have been difficult for me. they are a lot of fun to catch on an ultralight spining rod and 4-6lbs test line. I would have also have dinner from that pond.

Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot
I am very partial to Toyotas, I tried selling them for a living a few years back when I lost the job I had and was impressed with the quality that goes in to making a Toyota. I don't know much about the Honda & Nissan production plants but I know they are also reputable. As someone mentioned already the Pilot is an Accord dressed up as an SUV (uniframe), but then again the Highlander is from a Camry base, probably not the best towing vehicle. Not sure about the Pathfinder. Back when I was at the dealership, all Highlanders were built in Japan, not sure if it is different now. good luck with your decision.

"Talent is overrated" - Geoff Colvin 10,000 hours practice
18 to 22 hrs a week, that is basically a part time job. I have not read that book but I believe the 5,000 hrs of practice you still talk about is a lot of time. consider 40hrs a week times 52 weeks for 3 years is 6240hrs, so somewhere around 2.5 years. I would have to dedicate 40hrs for about that time to become according to the book proficient at something, most jobs give you 3 months provisionary period in most positions, if you don't show promise or talent you may be unemployed. You may have a person gifted with natural skills on something and the learning curve may be smaller on any field, including fishing. There are a number of other factors that influence how fast you learn to do something, including but not limited to good trainers or training program. Take me for instance, I don't have anyone to go fishing with who can teach me, I cannot afford to hire a guide and there are no bass class programs near me, so I pretty much have to find what works on my own, I read, but that will only take me so far. It may take me longer to learn and be good at it. Right now I only fish maybe 4 hrs every two or 3 weeks.

catfishing website
same here man, I enjoy catching just about anything but turtles. I had a guy at that site stop hanging out with me because I started bass fishing, he told someone who knows my wife that was the reason he didn't fish whit me anymore. :

Leg cramps while sleeping
I had them when I lived in Chicago, no more since living in Arizona, coincidence? maybe, maybe not. I suspect something with the temperature and humidity. I used to eat bananas and drink lost of water. I don't know if it helped or not but I noticed when I have my legs under covers I don't get them, but when my legs where out I would get them. Anyone sees the same?

I know there is a story behind the fact that when a thread gets locked the members call for Irene and tell her good night. Me being a newbee have not heard the story yet. Care to share it with me?

Tips for Shore Fishing Bass Anglers
thanks guys, I see I am guilty of doing just the opposite of waht you say. For instance I have a tendency to stay on a spot for too long and try a bunch of lures to see if I find the right one, when in reality the bass may not be in that area. I need to pay more attention to the conditions, where i live it is ussually sunny and hot but once in a while a cloud may pass by or the wind may pick up, most of the time I don't even notice, I feel I am paying attention to the lure and my retrive but fail to see other things. One thing I do and you mentioned is to have two lures/baits out in the water. I usually have a rod with a nightcrawler on a carolina rig while I cast using another lure. Thanks for the tips. keep them coming.

Need help finding threads I commented
I was wondering if there is a way to follow the threads I have commented on, maybe I am not seeing it but some forums would have a different color or something on the thread indicator (the folder would be a different color or will have a dot on it or something). sometimes I just don't remember the name of the threads and I can't find it to see what other advice or ideas have been given. how do you guys do it?

Spinnerbait Success
I started this season with the purpose of learning the spinnerbat and the shaky head. I have yet to put time in with the spinerbait and I know I should. I saw the video also and got a few good things out of it so I will be trying them soon I hope.

When nothing will work what lure do you use?
ok I don't mean to higjack the thread but i have to ask, some of you have suggestions for when the times are tough while at the water, why not start the day throwing the lures you use when times are thought? what I mean is if the lipless crankbait and the t-rig are such good producer for you guys, why not start the day using that lure? what are you using before then?

Best lures for the price!
that is a tricky question for me. do i want a cheap lure or plastic that does not have the action needed to catch fish? or do I want to spend $20 + on a lure that will catch fish but may not give me more than my bag of robo worms? this is what I do, i get roboworms and name brand crankbaits like rapala, I am stil debating to spend $20+ on a lure since I am catching fish on the $7 lures. if I continue to catch them i may not need to get the $20 lures. Raul said in another thread that the lure is a tool, it is you who catches the fish since you have to find it and give the right action to the lure. I stopped getting every lure the experieced guys say they got their lates 10lb on because I feel i still need to be able to find them, and I need to concentrate on learning that first.
-
what am i doing wrong?
I am kind of new fishing myself, and I find using lures like crankbaits and spiners a lot easier than using plastics, the only plastic technich I caught fish consistently on is dropshoting. IMO it takes more skill to learn plastics technicks, even though the experienced guys here swear by them I have a hard time feeling and learning the technics. what I am saying is start using easier to learn lures, cranks and spinnerbaits are pretty much just cast and retrive lures, they are not as complicated as t-rigs or carolina rigs. I have been practicing t-rigs and shaky head rigs this year but had little success, I know one of this days it is all going to click and I will start catching fish; however confidence and getting the first fish in is crucial for me to keep concentraded and willing to try. it is a lot to try to figure out at once, the location, the presentation, retrive variance or any other thing. I go to the same places I caught fish on or where I have seen fish swimming around and try my few technics there, after i get my first fish i start experimenting.

Mike Iaconelli
Dan, you should watch Mike's show one of these days, you will see a different Mike that the one you see during competition. The same way you see Tiger Woods pump his fist when he puts the ball in the hole from 50 yards out on the 18th hole with the game on the line. If you only see MI during the BASS tournament coverage you are seeing the guy trying to make a living, imagine you fishing for a big check like he is. I have seen other pros scream and pump fists before, Skeete Reesse did it during last week's coverage of some turnoment on ESPN. When the stakes are that high I think it is easy to get excited. Now you level of excitment may be diferent than most, just like Chad Ocho cinco celebrates a TD compared to the way Barry Sanders just handed the ball to the official. Different strokes for different folks. If you really want to know what make the man thick, get his book and read it. Peace.

Favorite NFLers
My favorite all time player has to be Walter "Sweetness" Payton on offence and Mike Singeltary on defence. Some notable are: Richard Dent Ottis Wilson Joe Montana Jerry Rice William Perry Mike Ditka Mark Babaro Berry Sanders I know, I am partial to the Chicago Bears.

Mike Iaconelli
I like Mike, I think he is a good fisherman too. Most of the time I have seen him on a tournoment he does get excited but I think he is feeling like he is about to get paid, it must be different fishing for $500,000 than it is for $25,000 for him, so if you ask me if I will get excited to see a bigger check, i will scream and dance if that is necesary. Now thw one who really only catches hogs and monster is Shawn Bigsby (sp.?), he is also a good fisherman but just watch his show one day.
