  1. yep, i am a member there also. see you out there!
  2. I see a bait monkey attack just about to happen! I live like 3hrs away from BPS or Cabellas so I know what you are talking about, I like to stick to natural looking colors for crankbaits myself, I have not have a lot of succes with plastics (it is my 1st season fishing t-rig and other plastic technics) so I can help a lot on that.
  3. i know I am not the best qualify fisherman either but i will tell you what I do. I do use them where there are weeds , sometimes only going underwater a few inches and get some fish. i am talking where i can see the weeds maybe about 5' down, most of the places I fish here in Az are no deeper than 15', i say 20-25 is deep for us here so any medium crank will get me close to the weeds.
  4. not sure about the wiggle rig, how do you move it from spot to spot? when I dropshot I like to work the worm back to the bank and with the rubberband I may have to pull harder to get it to move and usually there are weeds where it will get stuck. I do like the cruizing cooler for those catting nights!
  5. Usually when I don't get a bite on cranckbaits or spinnerbaits (at least two different ones with different actions, color, size) I go to a dropshot worm, it usually works for me.
  6. I like Rattle traps myself, but then again have not tried any other.
  7. I see an Aaron's magic roboworm on that picture!!! yes, it can be done from shore!
  8. It has not happened to me but I hear guys saying it is not anusual to get a cat every so often on lures, specially crankbaits for what I have heard. Cats are good fighters, they are fun to catch.
  9. I dropshot most of my time at the colorado river, I have a one man pontoon and the biggest challenge is to keep my position, I do have a 5lb stel block I use as an anchor to help me stay in place. I always stay close to the bank and cast towards it, you should be able to do he same I would think and catch fish.
  10. thanks man for the advice. I do fish from shore most of the time, I do have a one man pontoon but I have never usd it at night.
  11. thanks for commenting guys. those are defiatly nice fish fir sure.
  12. I see a few threads talking about how much explosive strikes are when fishing at night compared to day fishing. Why is that? is it bigger fish at night for the most part? here in Arizona we already have temperatures over 110º during the day so it may be good to switch to night fishing, my bigest concern would be the snakes and mosquitoes. What are some good tips for night fishing? good lures to throw?

i was told tilapia was a vegeterian fish?! someone else also said to use the round cat food with a hole in the middle (kind of like a mini donut), I never tried to catch any but I know i pay like $10 for a bag of tilapia at Sam's club
  14. I am glad to see good comments on these rods, I just ordered a spinning rod for dropshooting, i can't wait to get it.
  15. very informative as usual. thanks for commenting Raul.
  16. I have to say i am surprised to hear that since I see many good reviews ar BPS, i respect your oppinion and thank you for commenting, i sure have to see it from every angle. thanks man. now, what kind of rod would I need for this type of swimbaits, a MH? i dont currently have one yet, I only have M rods, would those swimbaits lures be too big for the rods I have?
  17. right, it was shawn G. you said the action is not as good as other baits, which ones are those? is the action on the spro bbz-1 better then? most of my crankbaits I own now are rapala with some Bomber I think as well, they are only like $7 tops, that is waht I was talking about when I asked if the king shad and wake shad are worth the $$, if it is just an overpriced lure and I can get a better action with something else even if it is at the same price I would not mind spending the $$, but paying big $$ for a subpar lure, I don't think i want to do that. thanks guys for commenting.
  18. mmm, I can think of a few places like that around here. I may just get me one after all. Thanks man.
  19. thanks for commenting, I guess not a lot of members have use it.
  20. watching a fishing show this morning the host was fishing the wake shad and the king shad for a while with good results. I know this may have been filmed for the whole day and condensed to the 20min or so show (not to mention he is probably getting $$$ to fish them) so I figure I ask you guys for your oppinion on those baits. these lures are about $25 a piece, if I am going to buy a lure a that price I want to know they will produce. thanks
  21. me like it! but, is that a granade on the first picture?
  22. welcome to the forum, I am on the southwest corner of Az, Yuma. are you near Tucson? I will b out there next month, can you recomend a place to fish, I have never been out that way.
  23. thanks for commenting guys. that sure helps, in my mind I tought it was supposed to be like a land animal falling in the water but the part that didn't make much sense to me it that we use a crawdad or worm.
  24. I know the flukes or similar lures immitate injured bait fish but I am not really sure what the flipping and pitching is supposed to imitate if anything at all. Or maybe the question is what are we trying to imitate with the technic? thanks
  25. Hi Brett, welcome to the forum. Where in N. Illinois are you? I am originally from Chicago, relocated to Arizona only a few years a go.
