  1. Avid X and Zillion have a better warranty than the Zodias.
  2. I started out with the Original Chatterbait. I have also used the Chatterbait Elite but my go to bladed jig now is the 1/2 Project Z chatterbait, they also have an option with a weed guard. With that being said there is no need for me to try anything else. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
  3. 6.3:1 Daiwa Tatula Ct Type R Certain trailers make a chatterbait rise. The gear ratio shouldn’t matter.
  4. Well my way of making Cabela’s useful is looking at things in person (if it’s in stock) to get a close up view and inspection before ordering from tackle warehouse. Besides that I go for emergency needs when I can’t wait on tackle warehouse. I looked at the new Gander website and the prices look the same so I’m curious to see how long they will last.
  5. I highly doubt it. I highly doubt it.
  6. No way I would do that. There have been times where I have not re-tied for weeks at a time. But to each is own.
  7. My Cabelas never has Power Pro, Suffix 832, or Seagaur InvsX in stock. Pretty good rod selection as they carry St. Croix, Shimano, Loomis, Fenwick, Lews, Abu Garcia as well as there own brand. They have a whole side of an isle dedicated to Rapala and marginal areas for other lure brands. I don’t have many complaints about my Cabela’s except that once everything gets picked over it’s seems as if they don’t restock. My local Cabela’s is in Noblesville, IN.
  8. The only extra fast tip I can vouch for is St Croix because they sell them here in the Midwest. I prefer extra fast tips for weightless presentations. If I can’t see the rod in person and floor it I’ll pass on it. If there is another rod company that has a better extra fast tip I just haven’t had the luxury to see it or actually hold the rod.
  9. Anybody have any contact info for the PO Pluggers? There website seems too be outdated with information from previous years.
  10. St Croix hands down. Daiwa has served me well too.
  11. Alberto knot! The blood knot is too tricky for simple person like myself.
  12. I was initially throwing my 110s on a St Croix AXC74HF which was my frog rod but now I throw it on a St Croix BXC74MHMF.
  13. I wouldn’t throw cranks on it. Not enough load for my liking.
  14. I have the same rod for Chatterbaits and love it. Glass is the way to go or at least it’s my preference for chatterbaits.
  15. On the shore I will bring 4 set ups: Senko Chatterbait Weighted T-Rig Top Water On the water you can add lipless cranks and drop shot to the list.
  16. I hate centrifugal brakes! I can’t stand my REVO S because of it.
  17. I saw the 7’4” medium heavy Avid X on tackle warehouse. However the 7’4” heavy casting rod which I happen to own is used for frogs and Carolina rigs. I would say it would work for the same things and I would throw jigs and horny roads in there. But the heavy has a lure rating of 3/8 to 1 1/2 and the medium heavy has a lure rating between 5/8 and 1 1/4. I would go with the heavy just for the wider lure rating.
  18. 1/2 ounce is the most versatile and my choice. You can fish it at all depths and slow roll it.
  19. I got a Triumph and i think it performs well for a rod in its price range. I have fished with it plenty of times and it did it’s job. I would suggest saving up a few more bucks and getting a BassX.
