  1. I was talking to a sales associate at Bass Pro yesterday as I was picking out my Tatula and he asked how I liked them. He went on to say he hasn’t been happy with Lews one bit. My son picked up a Lews Mach Smash yesterday, so we’ll see how he likes it. The combo feels nice. We’ve never owned Lews until this point.
  2. Well SOB, I was there yesterday and have a couple junk reels. Oh well, wouldn’t have even covered my gas there and back.
  3. I really think he’d be disappointed with just DI. For the extra $100 or so twist his arm and have him get the Side Imaging. It’s better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. Here’s a question for him, does he need contour maps? Actually Cabelas has the Garmin Echomap 73SV UHD on sale right now for the same price as a Helix 5 SI. A 5” unit is pretty small (I used to have one). If he’s not familiar with them have him turn a coke can sideways, that’s the screen size of a 5” unit.
  4. Oh I know, just having a little fun. I could live without down imaging. You can cover an area more efficiently with side imaging. You could potentially find several pieces of cover or structure at once with side imaging. Set your waypoints and fish away.
  5. This is our problem now too! People apply, then when it’s time for an interview (virtual) they’re a no show. They apply because they have to apply for a certain number of jobs a week. We have a lot of job hoppers apply as well which isn’t very appealing. Then we get some good candidates on paper anyways, and they can’t pass one of three things, drug test, driving record, or background check. We need to hire 5-6 this year. We started a training class last week...two people.
  6. I may be wrong but I’ve never seen a newer unit that had side imaging but no down imaging.
  7. I’m detecting a pattern here with your selections.
  8. I’d pick Side Imaging, because if you have Side Imaging your unit will have down imaging. ??
  9. I’ve been ice free for a week or so now and I’ve yet to get the boat wet or really do much organizing of the recently purchased gear, I’ve been too dam busy with testing for work.
  10. He broke out. Some of the rods and reels were because of him too! There’s no taming him. It’s like the movie the ring! You watch it, it’s passed on to you. Thanks for commenting. Good luck!
  11. I can’t do liquor. Jack single barrel was it for me and it never turned our good. Chalk it up to a 10 foot tall and bulletproof mentality at 21. Nevertheless not going to revisit that, not even going to attempt it, this is my only go to now. I’ve got it down to a science I guess you could say. Stick with what works.
  12. Go away Baitmonkey you’ve done plenty of damage in the last 6 months! ?
  13. Got back from Bass Pro a little bit ago. This is my haul, plus 4 3700 boxes (4 for $10). The Senkos belong to the wife. 6poundbass got a Lews combo. I was looking for a Dobyns Fury but apparently they don’t carry them, so I figured I’d give the SC A try. This will be my first SC rod so we’ll see how this particular model works out.
  14. Second Echomap came in finally. I took advantage of the BPS spring sale. I’m taking the day off tomorrow and heading to BPS Detroit. We’ll see if the Baitmonkey follows me there. ?
  15. Interesting, I had no clue they existed either. The big question is, are they sluggish like a green bass or crazy like a smallmouth?
  16. As long as you feel better after your rant @Jigfishn10. That’s what we’re here for.
  17. Link or it didn’t happen.
  18. MEGA 360 isn’t live. Humminbird is coming out with their own version of live sonar at some point (was supposed to by now). Do you have a LiveScope compatible unit right now?
  19. Snow and freezing rain predicted for tonight here.
  20. Chunk salt for me too
  21. Regular yellow for pretzels I like spicy brown but I’ve never tried it on pretzels. I’ll have to give it a shot.
  22. The big question, what do you dip it with? I’m a mustard guy myself.
  23. I love pretzels, especially a good soft pretzel!
  24. It’s been so nice seeing the birds come back. We’ve had geese which there are plenty of resident geese in this area, ducks, plenty of song birds out singing, and we’ve even seen the muskrat out swimming along our shore. We’ve even seen some San hill cranes out and about. It’s a breath of fresh air seeing and hearing all these critters.
