My 10 year old son has used my phone to go on Google Earth and look for ponds or lakes that are private and has said to me “we need to fish those”. I then explain to him we can’t just do that, and without permission it is illegal. I know where he got it from and I explained it’s most likely fake, what he sees.

Wow! I just finished reading through again and what a fun thread! We all worked together to dig up info and even had a few non Michiganders chime in as well. Does anyone else have any new info to bring to the table? If I remember right, one of the lists I looked at (maybe one of the MA lists) and there were a few lakes that produced several giant bass and it seems there were a few names that showed up on the list several times. I believe Kalamazoo had one particular lake that produced several DD bass.

I’m thinking the same thing and worrying about the same thing.

I FINALLY got some time and some decent weather to get the boat all cleaned out (with the help of 6poundbass) and got my new 93SV UHD units rigged, I’m just waiting on my BIL to come solder the wires. I re-rigged a couple set ups and spooled up a spinning combo that got lost in the shuffle and I forgot about. ? I still need to fire the Yamaha up yet, hopefully this week, and I’m hoping to get it wet this week as well. My project list is still quite long which includes trailer bearings, possibly the bunk boards, and for sure the bench seat redone. I’m way behind schedule which I’m not happy about but such is life, things could be worse.

Here in Michigan it was catch and release from (I believe the third Saturday in in April) then catch and keep the third Saturday in May. Now, it’s catch and release until the third Saturday (again I believe) until the third Saturday in May. Basically catch and release (which is all I do) all year long which makes me happy.

That one probably does it. The worst part is my mother in-law has caught the biggest here out of our family, to top that off it was her first bass ever caught (4.5 lbs)

I just got home, fired up the grill, and 6poundbass was beating on the door with this. He’s officially on the bass board with quite possibly a new PB for him, I didn’t get a weight but it’s top two for him no doubt. He’s still on cloud 9 right now.

Thank god for Lake Michigan! It’s 73 right now and that’s good for now, tomorrow could reach 80.

When he’s worried about MPG he drives this, not on windy days though.
