At least you have a Lund....oh wait Que the Beck song. ?
  2. Booyah Pad Crasher and cut one side shorter than the other side. My retrieve, first we’ll start with the cast. I launch that puppy high in the air so when it hits the water the bass know it’s there! Pads I’ll try and hop it here and hop it there, and let it sit in any openings for a bit and give the slightest twitch here and there. Grass mats or over submerged grass, I’ll walk the dog. The other retrieve over grass I’ll have my rod tip at 1 or 2 o’clock and life to 12 or 1 o’clock as I’m slowly reeling making the frog bounce (if you will) creating a nice ripple and drawing attention. I’ll also move my rod to 3 or 4 and drop it to 5 quickly as I reel, basically the opposite as above.
  3. And that’s a reason I have a tin rig that isn’t gigantic. One of my public lakes I fish you have to back your boat down a narrow two track about 300’, only to launch and turn your trolling motor as far backwards as a cable steer will go and back your boat up that way about 100’. It’s a Great Lake with monster bass but most don’t want to deal with the hassle which I’m fine with. Another lake you have to drive down a sandy narrow two track about 1.5 miles to get to the shallow sandy launch. That one gets a few more anglers but not bad. The fishing is ok at best there, so we don’t visit it as much.
  4. One of the many pluses of living on a small private lake, throw in the average age of the people on the lake are 60, and virtually every boat but mine is a pontoon, and you know where I’ll be. ? The rest of the lakes around me have a no wake time from 8pm-11 am so there’s plenty of time to fish if I wanted to venture away from my lake.
  5. My brother had an 18” sub that was in a gigantic box and put it in the back of his Mazda 323. There wasn’t much room for much of anything after that. We just wired it directly to the stereo, no amp. We still thought we were cool. ?
  6. The Trackers are nice but they’re a no go for me too because they’re basically a cookie cutter boat. I have a G3 175 and they’re nice boats and I’m happy with it, but I’m wanting something a bit bigger and the storage is lacking. It gets the jobs done, and it’ll be a few years before I upgrade.
  7. Nice write up. I’ve looked at this boat is on my short list for my next boat, along with the RT188, and a Vexus AVX. edit: forgot to add the Lund Renegade to the short list ?
  8. Ok ok, that one got me.
  9. I’m not a big sweets guy either, but once every few months I get a sweet tooth. When I get ice cream it’s Ashby’s Michigan pothole. A uniquely Michigan ice cream. When my wife was pregnant with 6poundbass she always craved ice cream, now 6poundbass is a total ice cream hound. If it were up to him he’d have it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  10. I had it when I was 19 and in the midsts of chemo. I thought it was radiation burns until the doctor said it was shingles. From the left side of my chest, through my armpit, to my left shoulder blade is still numb to this day almost 20 years later.
  11. He is a crazy fishing machine, that’s for sure! I sure hope he doesn’t burn himself out though. You’re right his wife must be one heck of a woman to deal with that crazy schedule.
  12. I still have yet to give them a fair shake due to lack of time on the water but my plan is to give them a good workout over the holiday weekend.
  13. They’re the minnows and there are only two colors. If you’re fine with that I can grab them tomorrow. If you’re looking for a certain color I can check them out in the morning and get back with you. I know for sure one of them is a grey with silver.
  14. I see guys buying these things on line for $15 a bag plus shipping and I found 10 packs at my local Meijer store for $6/pack. I haven’t fished a drop shot yet so I don’t know what color is hot with the flat minnow but I could make a couple bucks off these puppies or make some trades for what I use. ?
  15. I thought that’s all you had to do with the Echomap as well but apparently they require an SD card.
  16. And the fact that all you need is a cheap micro SD card and not a $120 card in order to use it, is super nice as well. Almost all my lakes around me are well mapped, but I think I’m going to turn it on and see what I can find.
  17. Well my Echomaps have already paid for themselves. The lake I live on is a private lake so there are no contour maps. We were out this morning and I decided to try out QuickDraw. It actually mapped the lake a lot quicker than I thought, although I’m going to go over it again. Anyways, after we were done fishing I’m looking over the recordings and I find a pothole next to a flat that I never knew was even there. Now I’m really looking forward to mapping the lake where the wife and I both caught out PB’s. This lake rarely gets fished and is unmolested by the dreaded spray boats that hit almost every lake in sight. This lake where leprechauns and unicorns live have no mapping either. Enough rambling for now. I figured I’d give a quick update.
  18. Looks delicious. My dad loves his flat top grill. I’ve wanted to try a Philly cheesesteak. I’ve been doing toasted subs lately, but haven’t tried that. I did pick up a grill plate to throw on the Pitt Boss, so I’m going to try BBQ grilled chicken toasted subs next weekend.
  19. I never thought it would be that warm already. Oh well.
  20. We too hit the water this morning for a couple hours before the rain moves in. The water was a balmy 75 already, I sure as heck wasn’t expecting that. I caught a few on a RES. 6poundbass was hammering them on a Rage swimmer. He caught more than me so he was happy.
  21. Did you upgrade your phone to a jitterbug? It’s getting about that time you start thinking about one. ?
  22. At the rate Humminbird is going you could save a penny a day and you’ll have enough by the time they release it. ?
  23. I’ll bet well paid too! Better be anyways.
