started out 50 and perfect this morning, then thunderstorms moved in, then 85 and muggy as the day went on, then the muggy ness went away, the breeze picked up and was perfect again tonight, and by mid week we’re looking at mid 40’s for the overnight low! #lovecoldsummernightswiththewindowsopen

I’ve yet to have an issue. My last order (Dobyns rod) came from their Atlanta warehouse. Honestly if you can’t wait for a certain lure then you’re behind the 8-ball or you’re investing too much on the ‘hottest new lure’.

I have a few Blackmax and a couple Promax reels. I have a couple Blackmax that are 10 or so years old that recently retired and replaced with Tatula reels. The Abu reels were flawless up until last year, then the thumb bar started sticking, but that was probably my fault because I didn’t clean them. They are great reel along with the Promax. The Silvermax are absolute junk from my experience.

I did breakfast and I did a patty melt for the wife and smash burgers for my son and I. Fajitas this weekend.

Let’s give this thread a bump. I went to our local Walmart at lunch and metTodd Toven. If you’re not familiar with him he is a YouTuber and does a Blackstone tour around the country. I stuck around long enough to chit chat with him and try his pasta tortellini, and man was it awesome! My dad was there later and had the stir fry and said that was awesome too! I honestly don’t know. My father in law used to raise longhorns his and every longhorn I’ve seen have the wider more narrow horns, that usually will curl up. The safari we went on didn’t have anything that identified each critter.

I used to hunt out in Nebraska and every night on our way back to town there would be a longhorn in the road. We asked the rancher about him and he said, “that’s just Bruce, he hops the fence every day and hops back over at night”. That fence was 4-5’ high. Those big boys can jump if they really want to!

I’m not familiar with Lowrance, but it appears fish reveal is telling you there are fish there in red.

I would get rid of my Garmins for 360, that does impress me. The Live technology I have no desire for. I did see a new video just now on YouTube and the thing I was impressed with was the Landscape view! Too bad that part of the video was about 5 seconds long. ?

I’ve seen some new videos of it posted but they’ve been from Facebook and I don’t have Facebook. People seem to be more impressed with the newer videos.

We have a small grocery store in our town as well where the employees who wear dress pants, white shirts, wear ties, bag your groceries, and ask if you’d like your groceries loaded in your car. Where you can watch the butcher through the window cut your meat, and there are only two checkout lanes. I love the small town living. Maybe I’ll see if they can weigh my next big bass...if I can find the big ones. ? I’ve often thought about that myself. I believe grocery stores have certified scales as well. I could only imagine the looks walking into a post office or grocery store holding a bass or carrying a dripping wet weigh in bag with a flopping fish through the store. I believe @A-Jay has reached out to a local certified scale and put a game plan in place. I wonder if he got a sideways look?

I posted a link to a press release saying that Lowrance uses the Garmin technology and did say that it does not mention Humminbird, and said @Dirtyeggrollcould very well be right that they’re using the technology from the company he mentioned. I’d say for right now Garmin is better when is comes to the Live sonar. I’m not saying that because I’m a Garmin guy, I’ve said forever that Humminbird is better when it comes to MEGA imaging, though I think Garmin has closed that gap with their GT56 transducer release a few months back. I say Garmin is better in the Live imaging because typically when you release promo videos you release the absolute best you can come up with under the absolute best conditions possible and it doesn’t look any better than Garmin. If Humminbird is better then they failed with their initial video.

We went on a safari today, a new attraction in our area. There were all kinds of critters you can feed as you drive your vehicle through the area. This one was overly friendly. Needless to say once the rain stops I’ll be cleaning the inside of the truck out.

I know they have an hour or so drive from the lake to the weigh in and are getting a police escort, so that could be one reason they aren’t making up the lost time.

Just put on my forth coat of seasoning on it, so hopefully it’ll be good to go now. They’re getting scarce. We went to five different stores before we found on, ended up getting what I thought was a dang good deal. My dad has a big one and he makes great food on it, so I’m looking forward to trying it out. Todd Trovin is a YouTuber for Blackstone and he does a cross country tour at various Walmart’s and Lowe’s and he’ll be at our local Walmart next week doing demonstrations. I’m going to try and make it and see if I can get some ideas.

From my reading Garmin holds the patent for live technology, so anything that comes from Humminbird and Lowrance is ‘rented’ technology from Garmin and you know Garmin isn’t going to be out done with their old technology so that’s why this isn’t knock your socks off, and doesn’t look as good a Livescope.
